Obviously the title pokes fun at the tv show, THE UNTOUCHABLES, well written by Arthur Phillips, who was the main writer for RED SKELTON.
In a way, this goofy story sounds like something Red Skelton would get into. Fred and Barney are fall guys to the max. They decide to open a detective agency --why not? -- and their first client is a mysterious lady called Dagmar (played to the hilt by Sandra Gould from BEWITCHED). She sounds like Mae West and is just as alluring, hiring Fred and Barney to help the bank president of the Third National Bank(?) transfer some money. Huh?
Right there the red flags should have gone up, but not for these guys....
The president is a bank robber --and Fred and Barney are accomplices, though the bad guys want to make it look like THEY are the robbers. Get it?
A whole lot of fun, another one of those classic adventures we all grew up on, and with some kooky characters mixed in. Can't get enough of this stuff.
Definitely, a story that could have also come from THE HONEYMOONERS, starring Jackie Gleason. This one really has the feel. 10 Stars.
