- GoofsThe episode is about a criminal counting on and playing with police Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to get what he wants. However, the writers made Lieutenant Murphy and the other detective both enter the warehouse. This would not have happened in real life: police SOP is that one stays in the car while the other goes in.

Manhunter
This episode is pretty much MacGyver doing "Manhunter" or "Silence of the Lambs". It's not exactly one of my personal favorite episodes it's another honorable mention in my book but it's one of my favorites for this season.
It was a different episode indeed but that's the same case with most other "MacGyver" episodes but I like that, that's one of the best things about the show for me a different adventure or situation every time. This episode gets into criminal profiling, believe it or not this episode was the first that really introduced me to that if you can believe that.
It's really dark as both opponents MacGyver tends with are kinda scary and a contrast to the villains that Mac fights because the two in this episode are the kind that can possibly and actually exist. Eric Cross whom lets just say like the Viking boats he draws his sanity has sailed away. But it's Dr. Zito that really stands out, he's a good match against MacGyver as he is a briant mind, has that sophisticated atone. However that tone is a phony friendliness due to how cold it sounds and he's the kind of guy I really wouldn't want to get close to, not even within a mile because you just know he's always doing something or is up to something even when it looks like he's doing nothing.
The supporting character Murphy is solid and she's really sympathetic as she is a former criminal pro-filer that is suffering burnout and PTS from her last case; I really don't blame her most cases like those can mess anyone up and sometimes there's no way back from it.
However we're all in this episode for MacGyver and seeing him solve the case his way. Really like seeing MacGyver use his usual scientific knowledge and intelligence to deduce the killers moves but also find out about the sudden change in his mindset and what he's next move is. It's thrilling in a suttle tense suspense as you feel there is just this ticking clock that is counting down not just in the killer about to make his next move but that we're actually a few steps ahead already we know most of Zito and Eric's plan where just hoping Mac will figure things out in time and beat Zito's sick game.
It's one game MacGyver can't afford to lose.
