This had to be specially written for Bub, if not William Frawley. Short and sweet.
The guys plan a costume party, which may get a bit rowdy --as can be expected -- so Bub decides to tag along and keep a watchful eye. The costumes are fun and you can tell the cast is having a blast.
Once again, as I have written before, the best tv episodes, the best movies are with casts who enjoy each others company. It shows.
Well directed by the master, Gene Reynolds, who would go on to produce MASH. Applause for Dorothy Cooper for writing a goofy script, which all us kids who loved parties (of any kind) could relate to.
This story was re-worked into a future episode called "The Chaperones" (Season 8), where Robbie (now married to Katie) watches over Chip and his pals who spend a weekend at a cabin. How times change?
SEASON 4 EPISODE 20 remastered.
