- The girls spend a hot night at the gay club Trade, dancing in a sea of bare-chest good-looking men. Carrie meets sexy, Australian shoe importer -wow!- Oliver Spencer, to Stanford's envy. Samantha gets so high on beefcake, XTC and naked dicks in the gents (no girls there) that she tells Richard during hot sex she loves him, but gets no response. Charlotte is presented in the club to Anthony's boyfriend Gordon, who works for 'House and Garden' magazine, and arranges for it to take pictures at her place, the house of a 'perfect couple' - but Trey's lack of interest for yet another thing that excites her pushes their relationship to effective separation. Miranda's pregnancy becomes known at her law firm when a young colleague Max means to defend so her dozing off, but they're overheard when she says to what it no more out then his being gay (as she saw him in Trade)- the next day they both come clean.—KGF Vissers
- Aidan starts fixing the apartment next door to make it ready to move in. Carrie wants to go out, but Aidan is not in the mood. Carrie decides to take the girls dancing at a gay bar in NYC. Charlotte meets the editor of House & Garden magazine named Gordon (Chris Payne Gilbert), via Anthony (Mario Cantone) who is at the bar. Anthony was Charlotte's wedding planner. And much earlier, Carrie had set Stanford up with Anthony, and Anthony had rejected him. Charlotte is fascinated by Gordon as she was a huge fan of the House & Garden magazine when she was growing up.
Carrie meets Oliver Spencer (Murray Bartlett) at the club. Oliver is a shoe distributor and claims to get a discount on all the top brands for his special friends. Miranda meets her co-worker Max (Murray Bartlett) at the same bar and accidentally reveals to him that she is pregnant. Miranda knows that if the news breaks at the office, she will be taken off all the good cases and will eventually lose her corner office. Max knows that if he outed at the office, the elder partners of the firm will start judging him.
Carrie finds time away from stay-at-home boy Aidan with Oliver who has access to the exclusive Bungalow 8 club. She starts spending time with him outside the house, which Aidan is not willing to do with Carrie. Oliver shares his life that he has a gay partner in Sydney but thinks that he can't get everything in one man, so sleeps around. Carrie ditches Aidan and goes for a night out with Oliver to Bungalow 8. She actively discourages Aidan from joining them and later feels bad about it. But there Oliver hooks up with other gay men, including Stanford, and Carrie feels neglected. She goes back to Aidan.
House & Garden wants to shoot Charlotte's apartment and Trey does not even care. The magazine wanted to photograph them together as they saw them as the perfect New York couple. It is Trey who says that he doesn't want to do this anymore and agrees that Charlotte should not have to give up her dreams on his account. Charlotte and Trey separate permanently after their apartment is photographed in House & Garden. Trey moves out and lets Charlotte have the apartment. Miranda accidentally outs Max after he tells the office gossip that she's pregnant. Max was covering for her as some folks found her asleep at her desk and assumed that she was an alcoholic or bipolar, but Miranda started yelling at Max and office co-workers heard that he is gay.
Samantha doesn't like that Richard keeps her waiting for hours. She tells Carrie that Richard told her that he would call her in 5 minutes but kept her waiting for 4 hours. Samantha tells Richard she loves him while high on ecstasy. It was right after sex and Richard simply heard her and went to sleep. Samantha talks to Richard later at the office and Richard that he knows that Samantha was high on X, and hence probably didn't mean what she said. Samantha is relieved but secretly hoped that it had mattered to Richard.
