- The girls wrestle with the onslaught of 20-something girls when they are invited to a beach party in the Hamptons. Sam fires her assistant Nina, only to find she is hosting the A-list party in the Hamptons using Sam's contact list. Carrie has an eager young writing admirer in Laurel and a bigger admirer in doctor Bradley Meego. Her weekend is ruined, however, when she finds Mr. Big there, back from Paris, with a new 20-something girlfriend, Natasha.—KGF Vissers
- Charlotte's friend offers her a cottage in the Hamptons for a month, for a fantastic deal, because she herself can't use it. Charlotte convinces the other 3 to join her there for their summer month together. She says that this could be their last chance to spend some time together just as girls, as some of them could be getting married or even having kids by the coming year.
At a beach party, Carrie meets Laurel (Rachel Miner), who is a 20-something aspiring writer and idolizes Carrie. Laurel works at a publishing house currently and wants to show her writing samples to Carrie to take guidance and inspiration from her. Laurel wants to have Carrie as her mentor and Carrie takes her to a book launch party. Laurel tells her that she is a virgin and that she is saving herself till her wedding. That party Laurel sees Carrie pick a guy (Dr Bradley Meego (Patrick Breen)) and arrange a date in a matter of minutes.
Bradley is into Carrie. He is into her and is rich & persistent. Carrie invites Bradley to a beach party that she will attend in the Hamptons in the next couple of days.
Samantha remarks that a person that looks good on paper, generally turns out to be bad in bed. But Carrie is charmed by Bradley. Meanwhile Laurel lectures Carrie that the previous generation of women have devalued sex by giving it out to everyone who even passed by.
Charlotte pretends to be 27 so she can date a cute 26-year-old named Greg (Anson Mount) (who has been going to the Hamptons for 20 years). Miranda tries in vain to have some mature fun in the Hamptons. Miranda is angry at Charlotte for not acting her age and having wild beach fun with Greg. There are people puking on her deck and the house smells like mildew all the time. But then Charlotte gets crabs from Greg and comes to her senses. Charlotte confronts Greg about giving her crabs. Greg is adamant that it was Charlotte who had the crabs and then confronts her about lying to him about her age. Charlotte realizes how immature Greg is and walks off.
Samantha's 25-year-old former assistant Nina Grabowski (Marisa Ryan) (Nina walked off the job after Samantha yelled at her for talking dirty to her clients and gossiping during the middle of the workday) is hired to throw a big Hamptons party using Samantha's Rolodex for the guest list.
The party is a hit and Samantha goes to congratulate her as she might need to ask Nina for a job someday. But then the party goes to pieces as people start messing up (The goat cheese it out of stock, there are uninvited people at the party and the fireworks go off way before the scheduled time of 12 midnight), and Nina comes running to Samantha for help. Samantha sets up Nina with Greg as her revenge.
Carrie unexpectedly runs into Mr. Big (Chris Noth)-and his new 20-something girlfriend, Natasha (Bridget Moynahan)-at the party. Big met Natasha in Paris, and Natasha's parents have a house in the Hamptons, so they came for the weekend. Natasha works for Ralph Lauren in Europe. Carrie runs away and cries.
