“13 Reasons Why” star Dylan Minnette says his pivot from acting to focus solely on his rock band, Wallows, happened when acting began to feel like “just a job.”

The Alleged Cancellation Of S.W.A.T.
Sadly, S.W.A.T. was one of the first television shows CBS decided to remove from its impressive lineup. Fans of the megahit show are not happy with the decision. They are hopeful it will not be canceled.

By winning the TV academy’s favor last year as the star of “Euphoria,” 26-year-old Zendaya, who had previously been lauded for the same drama series in 2020, set a new record as the all-time youngest recipient of multiple lead acting Emmys. Her historic turn in the episode “Stand Still Like the Hummingbird” added up to a whopping 41 minutes of screen time, which accounted for 76% of the mid-season installment. Now that she is once again out of the running, six other actresses with comparatively lower screen time totals are gunning for the gold.
Those who make up the current Best Drama Actress lineup (which includes one 2022 nominee and a former winner) have submitted episodes in which they appear for an average of 21 minutes and 56 seconds, or 39.44%. This data was compiled using a simple definition of stand-alone screen time, which applies to any time a particular actor can be seen on screen or heard off screen.

Glam metal veterans Dokken have announced their long-awaited 13th studio album, Heaven Comes Down, arriving October 27th. The video for the lead single “Fugitive” can be streamed now.
The track marks the first new music from Don Dokken and company in over 10 years — not counting 2020’s archival collection The Lost Songs: 1978-1981 — and it’s a valiant return. Jon Levin’s high-flying guitar work is reminiscent of Dokken’s ’80s heyday, and Don himself sounds strong and confident vocally, even if he’s an octave or two down from the falsettos he famously hit decades ago.
“The inspiration for the lyrics came from what seems to me to be an uncertain world these days,” commented Don Dokken on the track. “It’s an up-tempo Rokker as are many on the album. I don’t know what the future holds for our world, so I decided to take a step back and watch it all unfold…...

“How strongly are you guys considering ‘Bad Sisters’ at the moment? “Bad Sisters” is an Irish series that follows five sisters embroiled in a murder plot: one of them is married to an abusive man (Claes Bang), so the other four set out to kill him. It just won BAFTA TV Awards for Best Drama Series and Best Supporting Actress for Anne-Marie Duff as the abused sister in question. So will that translate to Emmy love? The two awards don’t commonly overlap, but programs like “Sherlock,” “Wolf Hall,” and “Killing Eve” have been recognized at both events in recent years.

"Do you scare easily?" Vertical Ent. has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Saving Grace, made by filmmakers Gareth Carr & David Sullivan as their first feature film. When Sarah becomes a remote carer to escape her violent city past, she discovers your demons can follow, turning tranquility into a terrifying nightmare. This hasn't been playing at any festivals, and seems like a quickly forgettable low key horror with all the usual tropes and expected scary scenes. Not the best trailer either. Saving Grace stars newcomer Kirsty McKenzie (seen in Guilt and Magic), along with Gary Boulter,, and Carole Sharkey-Water. This doesn't look like there is much here to take an interest in - unless you love indie horror films. ›››

Leslie Phillips, Debonair British Actor of ‘Carry On,’ ‘Doctor’ and ‘Harry Potter’ Films, Dies at 98
Click here to read the full article.
Leslie Phillips, the British actor and Casanova of the Carry On movies who turned to serious supporting roles in Out of Africa and Empire of the Sun before voicing The Sorting Hat in the Harry Potter franchise, has died. He was 98.
Phillips died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, agent Jonathan Lloyd told the BBC on Tuesday.
With an eye for the ladies onscreen and off, the sophisticated Phillips appeared in more than 170 roles across screens big and small, portraying policemen, military officials, reverends and judges. But for audiences in the 1950s and ’60s, he was synonymous with the low-budget Carry On and Doctor series (he took over from Dirk Bogarde in the latter).
In the ’80s, he distanced himself from his playboy roles to lend gravitas to Sydney Pollack’s Oscar best picture winner Out of Africa (1985) and to Steven Spielberg’s...

Christina Ricci is arguably one of the most successful former child actors to have gotten their start in the 1990s, as she has maintained a consistent career since debuting in the film “Mermaids” at the age of 10. Having already played starring roles on the 2010s TV series “Pan Am” and “Z: The Beginning of Everything,” she is now a regular on Showtime’s “Yellowjackets.” Her portrayal of Misty Quigley, a middle-aged nurse who survived a plane crash as a teenager, has given her a popularity boost and could now earn her an Emmy for Best Drama Supporting Actress.

It was a wonderfully saccharine and poignant installment focusing on fathers and sons.
One of the most notable aspects of 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 3 Episode 16 is how it was the perfect emotional payout for Owen's series long-arc that managed to sneak up on us.
And it was balanced out well with more follow-up on Judd's arc with Wyatt, too.
The series never officially has "Begins" like its sister show, but Shift-Less is the closest that we got to an Owen origin story. It had a similar vibe to one of the series' best installments, 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 2 Episode 9.
While Owen's arc didn't dominate the entire hour as "Saving Grace" did with the Ryders, in Owen's case, it worked out better since he tends to dominate regularly compared to many of the other characters.
We've often discussed how frustrating that is, especially when roughly half of...

The second season of “9-1-1: Lone Star” returns Monday with an episode that picks up right where the midseason finale left off, with Grace (Sierra McClain) and Judd (Jim Parrack) struggling to survive after their car flipped off a bridge and into the water below. But while the couple is battling that life-or-death crisis in the present, the hour will flashback to the first crisis they shared, which happened when Judd calls a hotline for help.
In TheWrap’s exclusive clip of the scene, which you can view above, you’ll see a young Judd dial a number while sitting in his car and a very familiar voice answer the phone on the other end.
“Prayer and Crisis, how may I help you tonight?” a young Grace says from the religious call center, patiently waiting for the caller to respond. “Just take your time,” she advises while they wait in silence.

Herbert F. Solow, a longtime television executive who pitched the original “Star Trek” series to NBC while he was at Desilu Studios, along with “Mission Impossible” and “Mannix,” died on Thursday, his wife, Dr. Harrison Solow, confirmed. He was 89.
In later years, he and his wife wrote several books on the “Star Trek” series, including “Inside Star Trek: The Real Story” and “The Star Trek Sketchbook.”
Solow was brought in by Lucille Ball after her divorce from Desi Arnaz to help revive Desilu Studios, where he helped develop and sell “Star Trek” to NBC — after CBS originally turned it down because it already had “Lost in Space” — as well as “Mission: Impossible” and “Mannix” to CBS.
Solow helped guide “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry on their pitch to the network, and continued to champion the series until Ball herself got behind the effort.
