This is the only movie in the series other than the original to not have any Spoken Lines from Littlefoot's Grandpa.
After the film was released, the Land Before Time series took a hiatus, with the next film not being released until 2016, possibly due to negative reviews of The Wisdom of Friendship or for other unknown reasons.
Grandpa Longneck is seen, but does not speak. This is because Kenneth Mars, who voiced him previously, was forced to retire from acting due to a diagnosis of metastasized pancreatic cancer, which ultimately killed him in 2011.
As with the TV Series, Tria was voiced by Jessica Gee-George in this film instead of Camryn Manheim.
The last movie in the Land Before Time series to use Wang Film Productions for the overseas animation services.
