“Good Girls” is getting an Arabic version, marking the first international adaptation of the Universal Television show about three moms embarking on a life of crime.
Titled “Lunch Box,” the Arabic “Good Girls” redo features Egyptian stars Ghada Adel, Jamila Awad and Fadwa Abed in the main roles as three women — two sisters and their friend — who, faced with sudden economic hardship, decide to pull an unlikely heist. Just like in the U.S. original, starring Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman and Retta, they presume this will improve their lives, only to find themselves spiraling deeper into the criminal world.
Egyptian actors Ahmed Wafik, Hesham Ismail and rapper-actor Shahin also star.
The 30-episode “Lunch Box” is being produced by NBCUniversal Formats, which is part of Universal International Studios, and Dubai-and Cairo-based production company S Productions. “Lunch Box” marks their second collaboration after previously teaming up on the Arabic adaptation of comedy...

Kudos Knight, the creative partnership between scripted producer Kudos and “Peaky Blinders” and “Sas Rogue Heroes” creator Steven Knight, has appointed “Sex Education” producer Rem Conway as development producer to spearhead their plans to grow a scripted production hub in the U.K.’s West Midlands region.
This new role is designed to support the Kudos Knight management team in developing a drama slate to be produced in Birmingham. Netflix has a way of dropping new movies and shows with very little marketing, which has made it quite difficult to keep up with their latest horror releases. For example, we’ve just learned that Egyptian shark attack movie Mako swam onto Netflix this past holiday season?!
We hadn’t heard a peep about this one, and we have to thank Avery Guerra for bringing it to our attention. Mako is now streaming on Netflix, and you’ll find the official trailer below.
Note: The trailer doesn’t feature subtitles, but the movie is subtitled on Netflix.
In Mako, inspired by the true story of the Salem Express, “Visiting the site of a sunken passenger ship, eight divers face a terrifying threat beneath the surface of the Red Sea.”
Mohamed Hesham El-Rashidy directed the shark attack horror movie.
