I'm in shock right now. The scene with Elisabeth was extremely disturbing and Katharina story is extremely tragic. One of the best episodes of the show

WTF! This is the best episode and most heartbreaking episode of the series. First the thing with Ulrich-Katharina and her mother(which i think could be totally avoided with a simple conversation) nevertheless heartbreaking stuff but in the final moments your head will explode. If Jonas dies than how will Adult Jonas come into the existence.
Mindblowing

A Tragic Story

Heartbreaking episode. As this show continues to get even more darker, we can't ignore how brilliant the writers are with their storytelling. Katharina's story is the one that pains me the most. A tired mother looking for her son only to get killed by her own mother.
Back in 2x06, there was a scene at the lake where Magnus, Martha, and Bartosz are swimming and one of them mention an urban legend about a women under the lake who drags her victims underwater (from what i remember). It painful to know that Magnus was talking about his own mother without even knowing it.
The writers continue to nail their storytelling.

Never imagined that the concept of butterfly effect would be so poignantly delivered in a sci-fi thriller. If the emotional scenes of Elizabeth-Peter and Katharina and her mother was not enough the Jonas scene elevates this episode into the top echelons of TV episodes.
Dark by name...

Despite the show's title giving out a massive hint, I wasn't expecting it to get quite this dark! The whole scene with Elisabeth in the camper van was incredibly tense and beautifully filmed (the fact that it always seems to be raining just adds hugely to the atmosphere of the show and this episode in particular). And then after that they just doubled-down on the darkness with the Katharina storyline. Just incredibly affecting television all round.
The title of the episode is self explanatory

It's what all of this show is about. Characters living and killing each other, but without us knowing how it leads to it happening. This episode had a lot of shocking moments and they were rightfully satisfying. Only 3 more episodes to go.
One of the best TV episodes of all time!

Where do I even start? Oh boy
First of all the amount of answers we get in this episode is SO MUCH. SO MUCH INFORMATION TO PROCESS. SO MUCH SHOCKING MOMEMENTS! SO MUCH STRESS AND UNPREDICTABILITY! This was so sad. It was tragic. It was amazingly pasted and crafted and there was not a single moment that shouldn't have been there!
From Elizabeth's tragic origin and how she became who she is in the future To "The lady in the lake" and the sad story of Katharina and Ulrich to even a sadder one if possible the one moment where I could not even breath. I was so shocked. I wanted to cry but I couldn't. When all the Marthas or should I say "Eves" came in one after another I had chills all over my body. I could not move and Jonas!!!!!!
How the hell did that even happen? I have not watched the other episodes yet so I don't know how the f that happened BUT I just could not resist writing a review.
This is by far my favorite Dark Episode so far and in my very humble opinion IT IS ONE THE BEST TV EPISODES OF ALL TIME!
One more thing I wanted to add : I am even more amazed at the writers after this episode because KATHARINA AND HANNAH'S RELATIONSHIP! They did not have any scenes in this episode but what I mean is the effect that they have on each other's lives!! Hannah's life is always shadowed by the presence of Katharina. She's always jealous of her. She wants everything that she has. And she's willing to do whatever it takes to get them. I do believe she loved Ulrich but would she love him if Katharina didn't love him? NO. She wants to be her so badly she uses her name when goes back in time. She becomes her. Only to realize she doesn't need to. To understand and find her own strength! Seasom 3 gave Hannah a lot of development!!! And for Katharina : She doesn't hate Hanna at first! She thinks she's her friend. Only to find out she's been sleeping with her husband. She always knew it somehow. the jealousy. But what we didn't know until this season was how KATHARINA'S LIFE WAS ALSO SHADOWED BY HANNAH PRETTY MUCH FROM THE START!!!!!! Her name literally came from the made up Hannah name! The whole conversation that Hannah and Katharina's mom had was fantastic and it showed how Hannah indirectly affected pretty much so many aspects of Katharina's life before she was even born!
Such care and detail. BEAUTY ITSELF. Violent yet artistic. Tragic yet fruitful.
Wow.

Pretentious and Depressing

Warning: Spoilers
Besides the two disturbing and heartbreaking scenes involving adult Katharina and her Mom in the 80s and Elisabeth and her Dad Peter in the apocalyptic era, this episode was bleak and empty. Old Ulrich's storyline is depressing as hell. Why shoot Jonas? Dumb. In 2017, I ranked the Dark series a 10, after an original, mind-bending S1. The only other series I've ever ranked a 10 is The Expanse. Dark's S1 had missing kids/teens from one time period turning up dead with burned-out eyes in a different time period where they logically don't belong. Mikkel, a sweet adventurous boy goes missing in the woods one night in about 2019 and ends up in the same town, but in the 1980s, where he witnesses his parents' teen years. Mikkel gets stuck in the 1980s and it changes future family dynamics. A mysterious stranger time-travels to stop a future apocalypse. An unknown sinister minister (priest?) time-travels with bad intentions. A nuclear plant and its shady boss have a dark past. Past, present and future exist simultaneously and it was all well-executed up until S2's convoluted penultimate and finale where everyone casually time-traveled and New World Martha entered the chat. S3 is a different show, not bad, just different. It doesn't seem wedded to S1 or S2. S3's dialogue sounds profound and poetic to the average ear but really it's just pretentious and superficial. Everyone talks in empty riddles, like the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning and it's all a (depressing) loop. There's an army of Marthas that no one asked for. It's time to change my series 10-rating. To date, it's not a 10-type of show. I'm tempted to skip to the S3 finale and keep it moving. Teen and adult Jonas wasted his time trying to save the crummy small town and its awful people. Only Mikkel, Jonas, and Regina are worth saving. Lock them in a bunker and apocalypse now.
Shocking episode!!

Just Wow! I am shocked
This is dark in its full splendor of darkness.
This episode immerses us in the maximum degree of darkness of the characters and how they got there.
A chapter with unexpected twists that leave us full of darkness...

I just finished the episode, and had to see what other viewers thought of it. i can't believe the tragic end 'our jonas' had to face... i see the brilliance in the writing, since the older jonas said he never was in the alternate world, and now it makes sense. i guess, it's because 'our jonas' wasn't his past self after all? i have not watched the other episodes, so i don't know whether we will follow martha from now on, but i must say, jonas' story really touched me. i'm strangely saddened by it all...
