Prime Video’s new Fallout TV show saw a massive resurgence of interest in the iconic video game universe, and a lot of new fans joined the club. The intricacies of the Fallout lore can be overwhelming and hard to grasp at first, and the multiple factions of the Wasteland are especially confusing for newly-emerged Vault Dwellers.
The Brotherhood of Steel played a huge part in the TV show and was important in most Fallout games, too. But are they good guys, bad guys, or just some guys?
The Brotherhood Makes the Wasteland Safer…
Even 200 years after the bombs fell, the Brotherhood of Steel is still largely true to what it once was: the remnants of the US Military Forces. As such, the Brotherhood is hellbent on discipline and order and sees its mission in making the Wasteland a safer place for humans by exterminating the mutated creatures that inhabit it.

The Fallout video game series is one of Bethesda’s most popular series of post-apocalyptic role-playing video games. The fourth installment in the main series, Fallout 4, is already cited as a great game by many critics as well as gamers. However, now, the game is all set to expand with a fan-made total conversion mod called Fallout: London developed by Team Folon.
A still from Fallout 4. | Bethesda
Fallout: London is like a Dlc for the game but it is different from other fan projects primarily because of how big it is. In fact, Fallout: London is so big for Nexus Mods that the creators had to approach Gog Ltd. The project is so well-made that many Fallout fans believed that it was an official announcement from Bethesda. Unfortunately, the project was delayed since Bethesda dropped a next-gen update for the game in April.

While video games RPGs are almost as old as video games themselves, the genre didn’t really come into its own until the 1990s. Sure, there were plenty of big RPGs before that. Legendary series like Ultima, Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest all got their start in the ‘80s. But as ’90s gaming technology improved, RPGs incorporated more quality-of-life improvements. Suddenly, a genre that previously appealed to a small fringe began to top the sales charts.
Of course, we’re all familiar with the big names of 90s RPGs like Fallout, Chrono Trigger, and Baldur’s Gate, but dig a little deeper, and there are still plenty of lesser-known games that are worth checking out even now. Here, in order of first release, are the 15 most underrated RPGs of the 1990s.

It won’t be wrong to say that success is often measured by awards and accolades in the entertainment industry. But for Tom Cruise—the man who scaled the Burj Khalifa (remember the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol sequence) and soared as Maverick—it seems that the true measure of achievement lies in the journey rather than the destination.
In a 2002 interview with Vanity Fair, the actor, now 61, revealed his deep desire to have a career-defining moment similar to Clint Eastwood’s Oscar-winning Western film Unforgiven. Arguably one of the greatest Western flicks of all time, Eastwood not only produced and directed this 1992 magnum opus but even starred in it.

Silk: Spider Society, a live-action series based on Marvel characters owned by Sony, has been axed by Amazon two years after being greenlit(Photo Credit –IMDb)
Amazon has decided not to move forward with the Marvel live-action series, Silk: Spider Society, two years after green-lighting the project. The show, from producers Sony Pictures Television, was confirmed back in 2022 and was in the early stages of writing when Amazon pulled the plug on it.
The Walking Dead fame Angela Kang was attached to the series as the showrunner, whose deal with Amazon still remains in place as she will be working on other projects for the studio. Meanwhile, Prime Video has announced another series based on Marvel characters owned by Sony: Noir, starring Nicolas Cage.
Silk: Spider Society Canceled by Amazon
Silk: Spider Society was said to be in the works for five years and was officially ordered in November 2022 for MGM+ and Prime Video.

Netflix’s rom-com “Mother of the Bride” and Will Forte crime drama series “Bodkin” led the Luminate streaming originals chart for the week of May 10-16, elbowing past higher-profile competition.
Two buzzy streaming original movies — Netflix’s “Unfrosted” and Amazon Prime Video’s “The Idea of You” — held up well in their second full week in release. The Jake Gyllenhaal starrer “Road House” continues to be a work horse for Prime Video, which confirmed earlier this week that a second installment is in development. A surprise on the original film chart was Netflix documentary “Living with Leopards,” which debuted at No. 7.
“Bodkin,” which revolves around a podcast crew that comes to investigate the disappearance of three people from a small town in Ireland years before, moved swiftly up the original streaming series chart, passing Netflix’s “A Man in Full.” The Jeff Daniels’ starrer came in at No. 2 in its second full week in release.

The one fatal mistake that most TV shows make is using TV cameos gratuitously. If the cameo doesn't mean something to the audience and the characters in the show, it's pointless, and little more than a random Stan Lee Appears gag.
On the other hand, too many shows have fallen into the trap of celebrity worship with their cameos.
Having cast members gawk and gape at their celebrity crush as if to reinforce the celebrity's prestige while doing nothing for the universe we enjoy is a waste of talent.
For this list of the top TV cameos worth celebrating, we will focus on iconic cameo appearances that gave the show some unforgettable moments that made TV history.
Seinfeld Cast, Curb Your Enthusiasm
What better way to give Seinfeld the better ending many feel it deserved than by bringing back the cast and the original set and doing a bit of self-parody?...

Exclusive: Andy Wilman looks like a man who’s not seen sunlight for a while. Peering down the barrel of a Zoom call, he’s got a touch of man flu after a spell in his editing bunker. Wilman is perpetually “in an edit.” He’s currently honing the final episode of The Grand Tour, but he could just as well be looking at rushes from Clarkson’s Farm Season 4. It is his happy place.
We talk just days after Season 3 has been confirmed as Amazon Prime Video’s highest-rated UK original, sitting acres ahead of lavishly-budgeted series including Fallout and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Not bad for a show in which the centerpiece storyline is the birthing journey of a pig named Baroness. Clarkson’s Farm was, in Wilman’s words, conceived as Clarkson’s “solo album” away from Richard Hammond and James May, but...

Fallout had another record setting week for Prime Video.
In its second week on the streamer, the series amassed 2.6B minutes viewed, putting it at the top of Nielsen’s streaming charts once again for April 15 to 21.
That’s down slightly from its debut week, but still an impressive showing for the eight-episode series considering its the first time that any streamer besides Netflix has managed two consecutive 2B+ weeks with a single title.
The last to do so was Suits, which had more than 100 episodes to keep audiences engaged — and it wasn’t a streaming original. This makes Fallout‘s achievement all the more substantial.
Nielsen also reports that viewing was still skewed to the earlier episodes at this interval, indicating a strong performance still to come as audiences continue to make their way through the series.
It shouldn’t be hard to guess what made it to second place.

The “Silk: Spider Society” live-action series has been scrapped at Amazon.
The show was originally greenlit in November 2022 in a deal with Sony Pictures Television to develop a suite of shows based on Marvel characters that Sony controls. It was meant to debut on the MGM+ linear channel domestically before a global launch on Prime Video.
“The Walking Dead” alum Angela Kang was onboard as executive producer and showrunner, with Kang also signing a multi-year overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios in the process. Kang will continue under that deal. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal were also executive producers on the series. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Sony will try to shop the series to other buyers.

“Killing Eve” made its way onto Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings for the April 15-21 viewing window, enjoying a similar effect as titles like “Suits” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” that have seen increased popularity upon being added to Netflix despite having concluded years ago. The BBC thriller was watched for 719 million minutes in its first week on the streamer, landing at No. 8 on the chart.
But an interesting aspect of the series’ surge is the demographic breakdown of its audience. Per Nielsen, one third of “Killing Eve” viewership this week came from people age 65 and above, representing the largest concentration of viewers. That’s a surprise for a series perhaps most famous for the sexual tension between its two female leads, with one being a psychopathic assassin.
At the top of the chart this week was “Fallout,” which hit 2.6 billion minutes watched in its first full week availability after debuting with...

It used to be all about the trailers and the broadcast fall schedules. Now those are largely a thing of the past as the media sector’s upfront presentations to Madison Avenue ad buyers continue to evolve.
Following a week of spin and hard sales, here are eight central takeaways after Netflix, Amazon, NBCUniversal, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, YouTube and Fox made their pitches.

Netflix’s Baby Reindeer entered the streaming top 10 in mid-April, and given the continued buzz around the series, it’s likely to stay around for a while.
The show drew 673 million minutes of viewing for the week of April 15-21, according to Nielsen’s latest streaming rankings. That was good for third place among original series and ninth among all titles.
Prime Video’s Fallout had a second straight huge week, if not quite as big as its first. It had 2.62 billion minutes of watch time, off a slight 10 percent from its opening week, which was the best single week for a Prime Video show since Nielsen began its streaming rankings almost four years ago. It’s also the first show that doesn’t stream on Netflix to have back-to-back weeks above 2 billion minutes of viewing.

“Shōgun” is officially in the drama race for the Primetime Emmys.
FX has confirmed that the once limited or anthology series heavyweight has been officially submitted and accepted in the drama categories, where it will compete against Netflix’s “The Crown,” Apple’s “The Morning Show” and Prime Video’s “Fallout.” In addition, the network has shared exclusively with Variety the complete list of 40 Emmy submissions, which includes six submissions for directing, four for writing, and two eligible guest actors. HBO’s “Game of Thrones” currently holds the record for most nominations in a single year with 32. Could FX break the monumental record?

Fallout S2 Likely to Expand the Ghoul’s Lore
Out of the show’s four main characters, the Ghoul is clearly the most important: he’s the only one whose flashbacks provide us with context of the past 200-something years and thus explain the nature of current events. From Vault-Tec and the Great War to cold fusion and Moldaver, Cooper Howard connected all plot dots together.

Both House of the Dragon and Fallout immediately became international hits, and they share quite a few similarities between them — they both throw immensely talented but ultimately underrated actors into increasingly dangerous situations in beloved fictional worlds that were once very niche. Speaking of HotD and Fallout’s stars, though, these series brought many of them the recognition they deserved.
And now, they’re ready to tackle their next big challenge: killer squirrels. What?
New Horror Comedy Stars Talents from Iconic Shows
As recently reported by Screen Daily, director Craig Roberts is currently working on a new project: a horror comedy movie with an utterly bizarre premise. In The Scurry, a band of deranged killer squirrels decides to seek revenge on the visitors and staff of a nearby eco-café, leading the mortified and terrified humans to defend themselves.
For his upcoming flick, Roberts booked two stars from the biggest sensations of the past two years.

Now that FX has decided to make more episodes of its breakout hit Shōgun, it is changing its Emmy strategy for the James Clavell adaptation.
Deadline has learned that FX will submit the saga — which originally premiered as a limited series — in the drama category. Before, Shōgun would have competed against the likes of Under the Bridge or Apples Never Fall. Now that it’s coming back for subsequent seasons, Shōgun will face off against series like Silo, The Wheel of Time, Fallout and The Morning Show.

Man, we didn't know how good we had it, did we? For those of us who grew up watching cable TV as a simple matter of course, looking back on what we took for granted might as well feel like taking a peek at an alternate dimension. Receiving access to dozens (and eventually hundreds) of channels for a flat monthly rate? In an environment that allowed movies to receive a second wind and thrive after their theatrical run came to a close? Giving countless television shows a chance to grow their viewership over time? All while writers and directors were paid the residuals they deserved every time their work aired? In this economy???

X-Men 97 Nominated at the Gotham TV Awards, Predicted to Win Emmys - Main Image
The dust has barely settled since the season finale of X-Men ‘97 dropped, yet the accolades have already started to pour in.
The highly-acclaimed animated series is nominated in the Breakthrough Drama Series category at the 2024 Gotham TV Awards, with credit to Beau DeMayo as creator and Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, and DeMayo as executive producers.
It is up against some serious competition in the category, versus Black Cake, Fallout, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and The Curse; however, it is worth noting that X-Men ‘97 is the only animated show to get a nomination in this year’s awards.
Nominees for the annual Gotham Awards are selected by a panel of film and television critics, journalists, and festival programmers, with the award ceremony to be held on June 4, 2024.

Undeniably, Kelly Clarkson was having a rough night. While she was performing on May 10, she was a bit out of sorts.
Kelly Clarkson Starts The Night Off In A Weird Mood
When she first came on stage at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on May 10 and 11, she was feeling a little off. After entering the platform, Kelly Clarkson admits she was in a weird mood. She says, “I’m in a weird mood. I don’t know why. You should’ve seen me backstage. I was dancing like Kristen Wiig in [Saturday Night Live],” referring to her creative movements. But even with the unusual intro, she said she was eager to start and be performing. Admittedly, she only gets to do short songs as part of Kellyoke on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Kelly Clarkson is no stranger to performing Kellyoke on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

A large portion of the Fallout franchise’s appeal is its unique blend of serious topics, such as war, power, and responsibility, and utterly bizarre elements like Elvis Presley impersonators being a genuine faction and neo-cultists worshiping nuclear bombs. This inherent silliness in the otherwise utterly cursed world made Fallout into what it is today, and it’s infectious — as shown by fans’ most recent real-life shenanigans.
Fallout Fans Invest In the Goofiest Idea
Following the resurgence in Fallout’s popularity following the overwhelming success of Prime Video’s recent TV show, Fallout fans decided it was time to make a statement in the real world, too. The method they chose is ridiculous in every way: they decided to hijack the notorious Las Vegas Sphere to display an image.

Back in March, it was announced that Eternal Beauty director Craig Roberts was set to take the helm of a horror comedy called The Scurry, working from a screenplay by The Mash Report’s Tim Telling, with House of the Dragon co-stars Olivia Cooke and Rhys Ifans on board to star alongside Paapa Essiedu (The Lazarus Project), Mia McKenna-Bruce (How to Have Sex), and Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor). The Scurry is now filming in the UK – but Screen Daily reports that Cooke had to drop out due to scheduling issues and has been replaced by Fallout star Ella Purnell.
McKenna-Bruce also ran into scheduling issues on the way to production and had to leave the project.

Fallout is in its Renaissance era at the moment. Propelled back into the limelight with a massively successful TV show, Bethesda is doing everything it can to welcome players both new and old to the wasteland, especially to Fallout 4.
Despite the consistent updates these games are now receiving, in typical Bethesda fashion, they remain riddled with problems and bugs. Fallout 4 in particular, as many players pointed out, continues to have 1 easily fixable major bug that the developer has ignored since the game’s release.

Among the main reasons for Fallout’s popularity as a franchise is its unique blend of drama and tragedy and utterly bizarre comedy bits. Only Fallout can tell you a serious story about the war and throw Ancient Rome and Elvis Presley cosplayers as dominant factions while peppering it with some alien and zombie hillbilly action.

April was a pretty steady month for TV viewership — and Disney was leading the charge.
Along with its monthly The Gauge report, Nielsen debuted a Media Distribution report on Tuesday that assesses cross-platform TV consumption by media company. The Walt Disney Company took the top spot, accounting for 11.5% of total TV viewing. About 42% of that share was attributable to Disney+ and Hulu, Nielsen reported.
YouTube came in second place with a 9.6% share of TV in April. It’s worth nothing that, naturally, all of YouTube’s viewing comes from streaming. The platform is consistently the highest ranked in terms of streaming share each month, and April was no different. It came in far above Netflix’s 7.6% share, which put that streamer in second place for streaming.
But, as Nielsen is pointing out with its latest report, streaming still doesn’t tell the entire story. Netflix came in sixth place when accounting for cross-platform viewing,...

Love it or hate it, Fallout 4 is one of the biggest entries in the series. The latest game in the franchise not only showed how expansive the world of Fallout could become but also helped to showcase a new system that made playing the game that much more fun.
When developers take the initiative to develop unique gameplay mechanics, it creates ripples that affect everyone within the space. So, let’s take a look at five unique systems introduced by games that elevated the titles to the next level.

Amazon Prime Video made its first upfront presentation to advertisers on Tuesday in New York, with the streamer bringing out some of its biggest stars to break some news while touting its original series, film and sports offerings.
Amazon took over Pier 36 in Manhattan, which included a large installation dedicated to Amazon shows like “Fallout” and “The Summer I Turned Pretty” as well as movies like “Road House” and their various sports offerings like “Thursday Night Football.”
Amazon’s first major upfront started half an hour late — the long line to get in was referenced several times by Amazon MGM Studios head Jen Salke and even “You’re Cordially Invited” stars Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell. But once inside, advertisers were presented a star-studded litany of projects and news designed to make a huge splash in the marketplace.

Fallout 4 has a handful of possible endings, but Prime Video’s new TV show makes only one of them possible — and since Todd Howard claimed the show was canon, it effectively means that we know just how the events in the Commonwealth unfolded. If you think it’s all about the Prydwen, though, you’re greatly mistaken: there’s a lot more going on there, and “the Brotherhood won” is not the correct answer.
The Prydwen Suggests the Brotherhood Won
While many articles argued that the Brotherhood of Steel airship in the Fallout TV show wasn’t the Prydwen, that claim has since been debunked. The one-of-a-kind technological wonder officially remains one-of-a-kind, so its arrival to the West Coast suggests that the Brotherhood of Steel certainly didn’t lose the fight with the Institute.
But that leaves us with two potential canon endings.

Within the past week, Jennifer Jason Leigh (“Fargo”) lost and then regained her first place position on our Best TV Movie/Limited Series Supporting Actress Emmy odds chart. She is being given a run for her money by small screen newcomer Kali Reis (“True Detective: Night Country”), who maintained general frontrunner status from May 9-12 and is still our experts’ pick to win, as has been the case since May 3.
A week ago, Reis was also our editors’ predicted winner, but they have since gravitated back toward Leigh. Based on the forecasts of 2,400+ Gold Derby users, both women currently have 6/1 odds in their race, with their closest competitor being Aja Naomi King (“Lessons in Chemistry”) at 15/2.

Prime Video’s Fallout Achieves Record-Breaking Viewership In a remarkable demonstration of popularity, Fallout, the series inspired by the beloved video game franchise, has soared to unprecedented heights in viewership. Within just five days from its release, the show accumulated an impressive 2.9 billion minutes of viewing time across U.S. audiences, as per Nielsen’s streaming ratings for April 8-14, 2024. The figures not only establish Fallout as the frontrunner on Prime Video but also eclipse previous records held by other series. Cooper Howard’s backstory is a red line that goes through the entirety of Fallout Season 1, and things we learn about his past explain a lot about him and the world in the present. But they also create what seems like plot holes or, at least, logical inconsistencies, and that’s especially easy to notice with the power armor subplot.
The Ghoul Knew About Power Armors’ Flaws
Over two centuries before the events of Prime Video’s Fallout, Cooper Howard confronted Bud about his former company’s power armors. We learn that Coop was a soldier back in the day, and a catastrophic design flaw in pre-war power armors led many of his fellow troops to die despite seemingly being protected by mech suits.

You read it right: the Fallout lead star did a movie with Angelina Jolie back in the day, and not just any movie. 2014’s Maleficent, one of Jolie’s last movies before she effectively quit acting, saw Ella Purnell play the same character as the former queen of Hollywood — Purnell starred in it as the younger version of Maleficent herself.

“Definitely the most challenging thing I’ve had to do thus far as an actor, a lot of mental gymnastics involved,” Jharrel Jerome admits about the uniqueness of his role in the Boots Riley-created absurdist series I’m A Virgo, on which he plays a previously extremely sheltered 13-foot-tall Oakland teen. “At no point do I look my scene partners in the eye, and as an actor that’s so critical, you know, as connection.”
Jerome, an Emmy winner for When They See Us, was joined by Riley and co-stars Olivia Washington and Walton Goggins, plus costume designer Deirdra E. Govan, for a conversation about their series at Deadline Studio at Prime Experience.

Immediately upon its April 11, 2024 premiere, Prime Video’s Fallout became the New Big Thing on the platform. For over a month, the post-apocalyptic TV show dominated the Prime Video’s charts, but that ended today. A new competitor rose from seemingly out of nowhere, and we bet you’ve never heard about it until now.
Who Dethroned Fallout?
The short answer would be, a complete underdog of a TV show. The longer answer is, Maxton Hall - The World Between Us. It’s a brand new German series with cast and crew so fresh to the rooster their pages on major platforms barely have any information except their names — but their show is already doing spectacularly.
Maxton Hall is a public school with a dark secret, and a new scholarship student accidentally becomes a witness to it. An arrogant and powerful millionaire becomes hellbent on silencing her, but there’s...

Once upon a time, the post-apocalypse genre was almost exclusive to movies, with the occasional exception, such as the 1994 mini-series The Stand. Fortunately, the advent of streaming services and bigger budgets changed the paradigm.
Nowadays, radioactive landscapes, bombed-out buildings, hordes of shambling, reanimated dead bodies in various states of decomposition, and desperate, struggling survivors are commonplace on smaller screens.
Ostensibly, post-apocalypse shows are about survival in a devastated world. Dig a little deeper, however, and there's almost always a tale of morality or lack thereof. Movies struggle with this, often opting for CG effects to dazzle and attract, neglecting the human aspect.
That's what makes TV the perfect conduit for a tale of post-apocalyptic survivalism. While not all of them get it right, like 2020's The Stand, a long, drawn-out affair has the luxury of time and world-building on its side.

[Warning: The following story contains spoilers about Season 1 of “Fallout.”]
When viewers first meet Lucy (Ella Purnell) in the “Fallout” series premiere, the Vault 33 dweller is applying for an arranged marriage. She is kind, sweet, charming, optimistic, a Golden Rule abider — and quite naive. Vault life is all she knows, and all she’s been told is that it is every vault dweller’s duty to get married and procreate.
“It’s this Vault-Tec propaganda of, ‘One day, we are gonna rebuild America.’ It’s more cult-y than that,” Purnell tells Gold Derby (watch the exclusive video interview above). “I do think you do see moments with Lucy maybe doubting that in the first episode. It’s something me and [executive producer and director] Jonah [Nolan] talked about a lot, and it was really important to him and to me as well that we mapped in those little moments of fear before she gets married and then certainly moments after she gets married … where...
