Diligently striving to achieve your own personal and professional goals, while also persistently protecting and guiding the people you care about the most, can be a strenuous but equally rewarding experience. But actor Jonathan Bennett effortlessly and captivatingly proved he could achieve his own ambitions and support the people he cares about, as both a versatile performer and as his latest character, in his new thriller, ‘Submerged.’ The drama proves how the actor, who’s mainly known for his roles in such comedies as ‘Mean Girls’ and ‘Van Wilder: Freshman Year,’ is diverse in his performing abilities, and adaptable to instantly connecting with his co-stars and filmmakers. Fans of the Twilight franchise will recall Ali Faulkner as Bianca, a human who delivered a message to vampire lawmakers the Volturi in Breaking Dawn Part 1.
Now she enters another shadowy and sinister world in new film The Secret Village, currently shooting in The Berkshires, Massachusetts.
The Secret Village is a psychological thriller that follows Greg, (Jonathan Bennett) an unsuccessful screenwriter, and Rachel, (Ali Faulkner) a beautiful journalist, as they research an outbreak of mass hysteria in a small village.
They rent a house together and start to uncover a secret about ergot poisoning that has affected this village for years. (For those that don't know, ergot is a toxic fungus that grows on rye and can cause convulsions, hallucinations, delirium, psychosis and other symptoms; it's believed by many to be the scientific explanation for witchcraft).

I'm not going to play, last night's episode of America's Next Top Model made me want this All Star cycle to be over with quickness. Not only am I over trying to suspend my disbelief that most of these girls were the chosen as "All Stars," but as of yesterday we found out Kelly Cutrone will be replacing Andre Leon Talley as a judge next season. Alright, I won't postpone this any longer, let's dive in.
As with the last two episodes, the girls are in the limo cab on their way back to the model house and are discussing the night's elimination results. Lisa says she was surprised she won. I don't know what kind of Toddlers and Tiaras thing she's got going on with her hair in these interview clips, but it needs to go.
The girls seem very surprised about Sheena's sashay away and keep saying,...

Back in June of 2009 writer/director Michael Wade Johnson's anthology project Killer Shorts hit DVD, and now Killer Shorts 2, a 100-minute movie shot in Tennessee and North Carolina, is getting ready for a spin around the film festival circuit. It's also already available to order on DVD.
The movie is another throwback to the old days of horror hosts such as Elvira and "The Twilight Zone"'s Rod Serling that introduced the macabre scenes in frightful and comedic ways. This Faux Pas Films production features three new shorts:
"The Killer's Meow" - A group of friends decide to party in an old abandoned house, but the house isn’t as abandoned as they thought. When they encounter the crazy cat lady, members of the group begin to disappear. Can those remaining figure out the mystery before they, too, fall victim to the killer's meow?

A few days ago, Kristin Cavallari reportedly told Ok! that she’d like to take a crack at serious acting. “I am starting to work with an acting coach again and I would love to work with Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, and Sean Penn,” she said at the premiere of Salt, which she was invited to because…umm…. Nope. No idea.
Now, before you punch a hole right through your monitor (They’re expensive! You’re at work!), let’s give this a couple seconds of actual, dignified consideration.

Not all films need sequels. Today comes word on follow-ups to three recent features that certainly don't need them.
The Departed
Beantown reports that a sequel to Martin Scorsese's 2007 Oscar-winning crime thriller is already in development and could get a 2012 release.
Scribe William Monahan has previously indicated he already has ideas for the sequel, while actor Mark Wahlberg has apparently suggested that Scorsese regular Robert De Niro has been asked to portray a corrupt State House politician.
Mean Girls
A casting call via /Film indicates that Paramount has not only greenlit a sequel to the 0204 comedy, but shooting is already planned for next month around Atlanta.
The release reports that Emmy-winning director Melanie Mayron will helm the project which revolves around a new high school student, Jo, who agrees to befriend an outcast, Abby, at the urging of Abby's wealthy father in exchange for paying all of Jo's costs...

Paramount Pictures has not announced an official sequel to Mark Waters' 2004 teen comedy Mean Girls, but we've been hearing rumblings that production was set to begin on a sequel in Atlanta. And today we came across a press release announcing an open casting call, so that confirms it. But will it be a theatrical sequel or just another one of those direct to dvd sequel? Well, it is being produced by "Paramount Famous Productions", which has previously produced Van Wilder: Freshman Year and Wrong Turn At Tahoe -- so you have your answer. And don't say we didn't predict a direct to DVD Mean Girls sequel in 2008, because we did. More information, including director, plot, and how you can audition for a role, after the jump. 57-year old Primetime Emmy award winner Melanie Mayron will helm the movie. The best place to begin is at the beginning. Well, maybe not so much as this tepid ta-ta comedy goes back to when Van Wilder started his college hijinks. A naughty cover promises us some titillation (he he) but it really doesn.t follow through as much as you might like. Van Wilder (Jonathan Bennett) has just graduated from high school and is following the family tradition and going to Coolidge College. However, he finds that the school is not the bacchanalian blow-out that he was hoping for. The campus is run with an iron hand by Dean Reardon (Kurt Fuller), a military man who hates the elder Wilder (Linden Ashby) and by default now hates the younger.

Van Wilder wanted to be a one-man reinvention of the college comedy for a new generation. It wanted to be an Animal House in its own right. Hell, it would’ve settled for the attention of Old School. It got none of these. Instead it drifted off to the side and only ever gets mention for one reason: Ryan Reynolds. There may be plenty of familiar faces crowding around his on the screen, but it was the charms of Reynolds that made Van Wilder work even a little. Then the sequel ditched Ryan Reynolds but still managed to hold onto a respectable up-and-comer Kal Penn, who had established himself as a comic figurehead in his own right thanks to Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. Thus, you might think that with the third Van Wilder movie they would have latched on to a similarly rising star in the comedy...

Kristin Cavallari doesn't care what you think about her. For years, she made trouble and brought the drama as the resident mean girl of "Laguna Beach," and she was Lauren Conrad's foe long before Speidi came into the picture.
Now she's ready to come back to reality television and in an interesting turn of events, she will take Lauren Conrad's place on "The Hills." So while Lc is busy being a best-selling author, Cavallari will be stirring the pot with the remaining cast of the show. And if you think now that she's an actress she'll be acting on the show, think again.
"It's not [scripted]," she told MTV News about the longstanding rumors that the show is not as real as it seems.

Occasionally the life of a movie critic is a rough one. Sure we get ot see all the amazing new movies early and talk about them before they come out, but then once in a while we throw ourselves infront of a bullet and see a movie like “Van Wilder: Freshman Year” in order to save you from the pain. Here’s me showing you all the mortal wounds this steaming pile left me with.
When you make a prequel you have a few options about how you can go about doing it. You can hire the same actor and hope they’re still in massively good shape like Hugh Jackman was for Wolverine, you can reinvent the character like they did with Star Trek and Chris Pine, you can go way back in time and make it a story about the same characters as kids, or you can do...

On "Laguna Beach," Kristin Cavallari became infamous for giving everyone a hard time as the show's resident troublemaker. The tables turned when she auditioned for "Van Wilder: Freshman Year," which comes out on DVD on Tuesday.
"I had to audition three times," she told MTV News. "And they definitely did not make it easy for me. I play a girl who's in military school, so I went in for my first audition and just kind of did my thing. And so the second, the producer had me come in ... she made me walk across the room with my arms behind my back like I was in the military, and she made me really project my voice like I was yelling at all boys,...

It's official. After weeks of rumors circulating about "Laguna Beach" star Kristin Cavallari heading to "The Hills" and replacing Lauren Conrad, EW confirms that the 22-year-old will star on the MTV show's next season. In an interview with the actress, who is starring the upcoming DVD releases "Spring Breakdown" and "Van Wilder: Freshman Year," Cavallari doesn't pretend for a moment that the show is real and says she plans to shake things up.
"It's a TV show," she said. "I'm not going into it like, 'I'm going to make great friendships with these people.' It's work! And drama sells. I think that's why they're bringing me in, because I know what works."
Cavallari will first appear on the May 31st season finale and will have a 10-episode stint in the fall. She says her "Hills" will differ from current star Lauren Conrad, who she used to share screen-time with on "Laguna Beach.
