Reviews saying it all wrapped up neatly are so wrong. Fact is we don't know what happens to the characters as the projections from the end are from France's new book of same name. Note after seeing the future versions it cuts back to her at the table writing a new idea, then we see her book in the car with Masha as she speeds off with the delusion of her daughter beside her. Great performances all round! But McCarthy, Shannon, Keddie and young Van Patttern as Zoe were exceptionally brilliant. Open ended interpretive endings can be frustrating, but this was a hard one to wrap up with so much going on for each. So in that regard it couldn't quite deliver on the set up, but was satisfying all the same.

I wish Masha was my therapist!

Final episode wasn't what I expected, I wanted something more, It wasn't the best but it was still a great way to end this show or atleast this season. This episode could have been a little longer.
I really loved Masha's unique way of healing people, some people may not. Also, I think Liane Moriarty is one of the best authors in the world and I would love to see more stories written by her. This show is not as good as Big little lies but it's still very interesting.
Anyways, Nicole Kidman is amazing. She is so beautiful and talented it's unbelievable.

Sit it out

At first I was done with this show. Promised myself to stop watching shows if they bored me. Glad I sat this one out. The last 15 minutes were worth it. About forgiving yourself, accept yourself, look at yourself and ask yourself what you want. This all combined with Silent Lucidity from Queensryche gave me chills. Didn't see that one coming.
A Predictable and Safe Ending

This ending exactly as I was expecting it too, which is profoundly disappointing.
Everything is tied up in an extremely neat little bow, all of the somewhat interesting storylines disappear, the characters (save maybe the Marconi's and Tony) don't actually go through real, earned change.
What happened to Lars' story? Did Ben ever move past a 2D character? No repercussions for Marsha? Or anyone (Carmel??) for that matter?
8 days of psychedelics does not equal healing or moving past trauma. The only good area they did with the healing was the Marconi's.
The show was already slow, and in this case that wasn't good. All stakes were gone. Compressing time in a story can do wonders for it. This had a possible chance of being better and more engaging in a movie format.
Super flat storytelling. Pointless ending.

A stupid ending to a stupid show

Seriously? This is the most anti-climactic finale I've ever seen. The show itself was also extremely boring and anti-climactic throughout. I would not recommend this show to anyone. The only thing I liked about this show was the opening credits... Even the star-studded cast could not save this dumpster fire. This is also another perfect example that not everything needs to be adapted to a TV show. This should have been a one-and-done movie at most.
Wonderful

Thank you for the uplifting ending

I disagree with a lot of those who commented, I really liked the ending. It felt hopeful, uplifting, positive and it left me with a smile, after quite a few tears throughout this episode. It is about overcoming pain and your past, looking to the future, healing and forgiving others, but most importantly forgiving yourself. What a wonderful gift of positivity this ending gave us. There are so, so many dark shows with no happy endings in sight, it feels almost like a guilty pleasure to be handed this one so unexpectedly. I felt sure it was going to be dramatic and dark, but it ended up being something totally different. I took a while to get into this series, but I am so glad that I persevered as after the first few episodes I was hooked. If you don't like to be left with a positive and optimistic message then don't watch this episode or even this series, there are plenty of dark shows out there for you. Personally I really enjoyed this series and this episode was my favourite!
Just Say Yes

Warning: Spoilers
The series takes a surprising turn in this last episode. Up to this point, the story arc has been one of impending and accelerating doom, as Masha pumps every higher doses of psychedelic drugs into her clients. The next-to-last episode even uses the song "The Wheels on the Bus" to convey the sense that the wheels have fallen off at Tranquillum, and given our culture's reflexive anti-drug attitudes, one comes into this episode expecting disaster and a legal reckoning for Masha.
But instead all of the characters wind up better off for the experience, with the Marconis and Masha even finding healing in an acid trip. No disasters, no comeuppance...can it be that a major cable channel has made a series aimed at adults that is positive about recreational drugs (at least psychedelics)? I applaud this courageous and unconventional stand, but certainly the series' message will not make everyone happy.

Waste of time and waste of a great cast

If the cast was a bunch of unknown actors, nobody would have talked about this show.
The story had potential for maybe a 4 episodes series but stretching it into 8 slow moving episodes was a mad mistake.
Characters are weirdly lacking personalities because they are only defined by their basic grief storylines and the effect the retreat ( or drugs) has on them which gets tiring after a while... So the whole show is a mixture of hysterical scenes and overacted drama where nothing ready happens.
I love Nicole Kidman but she is awful in this. The accent, the hair and the unbearable conversations she has with the guests explaining each decisions she makes again and again. No mystery just exposition.
The bright spot is Melissa McCarthy and Bobby Cannavale's great chemistry but even that wasn't enough for me. I just wish in the future they work together on something better!

I don't think there was a finale other than something supernatural that would make me or anyone happy, but this was not it.
I am glad the characters found peace and tranquility, some literally, but I thought this miniseries needed a different ending, at least for some, to be effective.

Enough with the glamorising of using drugs and killing animals please!

Awful final episode. I feel like the show is glamorising the usage of drugs. Letting go could be hard but that doesn't mean that you have to be on five thousand different drugs. Also stop killing animals to make a point.
The cast was excellent though but sadly the end was disappointing.
