Extremely Selfish Characters...
I know the point is the romance, and how much sacrifice, but... Every person in this is so selfish and it is destroying everybody's life. Every move, either by the kids, or parents, or authorities are extremely dismissive of the brutal situation they create with their decisions. It seems like the writers only thought of how deep they could go with their intent and were oblivious to the chaos and cruelty of the actions.
It starts out with a vague intrigue of a person searching for answers of the death of a loved one, and deceit ensues from the beginning. The hidden plot uncovers, but when we learn "how", the "why" doesn't seem to be considered and is perceived as malicious and selfish to the outside viewer.
It simply doesn't seem romantic to me, to go to such extremes of love that all of the actions destroy everyone and everything around the situation.
Each person that has the power over another in the show, puts them through hell without concern for the consequences and is only thinking about what they want. It hurts my heart to know others are viewing this series, and are oblivious to the destructive nature of the actions taken, and only viewing the "romance'.
