Mr. Hutton (Billy De Wolfe) injures his back while leaving from a dinner at Dave (Joby Baker) and Linda's (Julie Parrish). He cannot move and his doctor confines him to lay on their coffee table. The fussy Mr. Hutton is both a chore to take care of and a test to put up with. Dave is tasked with a long to-do list and Linda is left to prepare pricey gourmet dishes. The episode is a clear take on "The Man Who Came to Dinner", as evidenced by the title and direct references throughout. The major differences is at the ending. Larry (Ronnie Schell) mentions this and there is a major spoiler to the film, as he flatly tells the movie's ending. (I thought I would mention this for those who haven't seen the film but plan to do so, or thought they'd watch this episode first and then the film.)
