- TriviaHudson County political boss Frank " I am the law" Hague served as the 30th mayor of Jersey City from 1917 to 1947 when he resigned in favor of his nephew, lawyer Frank Hahue Eggers. It was understood that Hague still retained ultimate control. The Hague Era in Jersey City came to an end with the 1949 defeat of Eggers' by reform candidate John V. Kenny. It is generally accepted that Hague was able to survive numerous investigations into his corrupt administration by insisting that payoffs be made in cash.
- GoofsWhile Nelson Van Alden is seen reviewing Margaret Schroeder's immigration documents, he is seen smoking Old Gold cigarettes. The episode is set in 1920, however Old Gold's were not introduced until 1926.
- Quotes
Lucky Luciano: [answers the phone] Yeah?
Arnold Rothstein: What kind of way is that to answer a telephone?
Lucky Luciano: [straightens up] A.R.
Arnold Rothstein: So? I gather you haven't made it up to Saratoga.
Lucky Luciano: Yeah, no, not yet. How'd you know where I was?
Arnold Rothstein: I have a crystal ball, Charlie. You know that. I see you're not wearing your trousers.
Lucky Luciano: So what gives?
Arnold Rothstein: I've been waiting for a report on Mr. Darmody.
Lucky Luciano: Right. Yeah, well, I can't greatly speak to that right now.
Arnold Rothstein: I wouldn't think so, considering the company you've been keeping.
Lucky Luciano: Can I call you back? I'm with his wife right now.
Arnold Rothstein: No, you're not, Charlie. You're with his mother.
