Co-stars two former World Middleweight Boxing Champions, Jake LaMotta and Rocky Graziano, plus additional acting appearances by former boxing champions Willie Pep, Paddy DeMarco, Tony Zale and Petey Scalzo.
Production began in 1966 under the title "The Honorable Frauds" and changed to "Cauliflower Cupids" when it was finally released in 1970.
Peter Savage, who wrote, directed and stars in the film, grew up with La Motta, Jake and Rocky Graziano on the streets of NYC in the years after the Depression. Graziano's autobiography, "Somebody Up There Likes Me," which was made into a film in 1956 (Somebody Up There Likes Me (1956)) starring Paul Newman and Pier Angeli, may have been the inspiration for Savage to start writing about his and Jake's early lives in "Raging Bull" in 1963, which was made into Raging Bull (1980).
Shot in 1966, not released until 1970.
