Why So Similar
jbowersox131 November 2022
Good Family Guy Episode. Eerily similar to, "Night Family" from Rick and Morty though. 30 days apart in premiere and almost mirror like lines between cloning a chore version of yourself. Good humor and all but it felt weird spoofing Jordan Peele and John Carpenter on two cartoons so close together. I will take the win and say good episode. I will assume this was an extended universe tree-house of horror franchise and now go watch the Bob's Burgers version.

I have not missed a new episode of Family Guy since September 2007. Maybe I need to look inward. Family Guy, if you're reading this, I am in it for the long haul and never giving up on you. This was a good episode and you should be proud.

Don't believe the Bad Ratings
vuileharry1 November 2022
Well. This is interesting once again. Here I was thinking: 'Allright, a new Family Guy!' But then I saw the very low rating it got so far (4.2 at the time of writing this!), and I was bummed: 'Aaw it's gonna be a lousy one...'

But then, brave as I always am, I started the episode anyway. And after a few minutes in, that turned out to be really fun and promising, I wondered: 'Man, whats going to go so wrong here to make it so terrible??'

And then came the two silly little jokes about Trump and Qanon and I was like: 'Theeere it is'. Well, how pathetic can one be... Be warned Family Guy and other comedy: we are slowly but surely moving into a world where there is even MORE stuff we can't joke about...

Contrary to what the low rating wants you to believe, I think this is without a doubt their best and funniest episode this season so far! And no, that had absolutely nothing to do with the two stupid trump/qanon jokes....

The episode was very creative, pretty fresh, highly Family Guy, and soooo much fun! I had a blast and I gave it a 9, while I'm definitely not that type of reviewer that immediatly gives everything he even remotely likes a 10... I just really enjoyed this episode. The story was very fun and I had plenty of good laughs!

(a small shout out to the scene where Peter is INSIDE the painting... just wanna say: THAT'S creative!)

Good Halloween episode.

Wow, it's been awhile since we had a Halloween episode from Family Guy. I have to say that this is one of the best episodes so far. The entire plot is very interesting yet similar to an older episode except this episode completely explores more of Peter's antisocial behavior and self-centered personality traits. For example, spending less time with his family and being overly cynical and nihilistic with reality. However, he does have his regrets and his holographic version of himself was more caring than he was, yet the hologram became insane and the fight was ironic but hilarious. This episode was super entertaining in my opinion. 9.7/10.

Lazy Simpson's copy

This is just lazy, not even lazy writing since it's a knock-off from The Simpsons episode "Treehouse of horror XIII" S14. E1. In that episode Homer creates multiple versions of himself to do his chores. The premise is interesting, but gets ruined by jokes that are so obvious you see them coming a mile away.

This show has survived itself long ago and they're just going through the motions to cash in on what once was a hit show. The people behind this show stopped trying years ago and it feels like all the subtle jokes that made this show funny in the beginning had to give way so that anyone and everyone understands every little thing right away, when they don't explain the jokes ahed, that is.

Happy Holo-ween

Warning: Spoilers
This was a premise that this show has done before and its sister show American Dad has done before, but so far this season has been surprisingly enjoyable. I have not wanted to throw my head against the wall, so there is that.

The jokes were fairly limited tonight, but even the simple stuff like pronouncing it luh-boratory (laboratory) and a mad scientist make for good TV.

I could have used a few more cutaway gags, but I also like whenever the show mocks the concept of the cutaway gags by someone not setting it up correctly. You also can't go wrong by involving a giraffe in any kind of comedy.
