“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” actress Jenn Murray is joining the cast of “Maleficent 2” starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning, sources tell Variety.
Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Ed Skrein are also on board to star. “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” helmer Joachim Ronning is set to direct.
Joe Roth is producing the film, with Jez Butterworth and Linda Woolverton penning the latest script. Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster wrote the most recent draft.
It is not clear where this film will pick up following the first movie, which was based on the fairy tale “Sleeping Beauty.” The original story centered on an evil fairy who cursed an infant princess to eternal sleep, only to realize the young girl was the only one who could save the kingdom from its dangerous ruler. “Maleficent” broke several box office records on its way to making $758.5 million worldwide.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is following yesterday's news of Colin Farrell's Wizard casting with a lesser-known but possibly just as vital addition.
Irish actress Jenn Murray will have a "key role" in the Harry Potter spinoff, according to The Wrap.
Jk Rowling has written the script, expanding her Potter universe, with director David Yates returning to the series.
Eddie Redmayne will play the lead Newt Scamander, a magical zoologist on an adventure in New York.
Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol have been cast as sisters alongside Ezra Miller and Dan Fogler.
Murray will apparently appear in scenes with Miller, who is expected to be Scamander's rival.
The actress has previously starred in Dorothy Mills alongside Carice van Houten, while she has upcoming roles in Love and Friendship opposite Chloe Sevigny and Stephen Fry, and Brooklyn with Saoirse Ronan. She also appeared in BBC dramas Truckers and The Fades.

Truckers is a new BBC dramedy based in Nottingham. As the title suggests, the show is about a handful of truck drivers all of whom are employed by a firm called Bank’s of England. The owner of the firm recently died and his son is doing his level best to keep the company afloat. He’s introduced Gps tracking and a number of other fairly reasonable technical innovations to try and ensure that his drivers stay the course. Sadly for him, the truckers are a wayward bunch who view his tracking as an infringement on their civil liberties.
In episode one, the owner’s worst headaches are caused by Malachi (Stephen Tompkinson) – a recently divorced Dad who is experiencing a midlife crisis. Tompkinson goes for laughs reveling in the sillier aspects of the dialogue while the rest of his cast mates play it straight. The balance between...

Before British cop drama Harrigan hits our cinema screens on September 20, we had the great pleasure of speaking to the lead role, Detective Harrigan himself, Stephen Tompkinson.
Harrigan – which is director Vince Woods debut feature film, is set in a bleak, 1970s North East, where a close-to-retirement cop Barry Harrigan returns to his hometown with a score to settle. Tompkinson, who has made a name for himself in films such as Brassed Off and TV shows such as In Deep, speaks of his own experience in Britain from the time this film is set, and what attracted him to the role – while he reflects on what has been a triumphant, and certainly expansive career.
So what first attracted you to the role of Harrigan?
Vincent Woods, the film’s director, came to see me the year before we started shooting. I was doing live theatre in Newcastle in a play by my friend Shaun Prendergast,...

I have no idea how significant their roles will be, but it's still good to know that Wunmi Mosaku and Sharlene Whyte will get some screen-time in the upcoming BBC One dramedy series, Truckers. It's been a few months since Tambay first told us that Top Boy actor Ashley Walters would be joining John Dagleish, Harry Treadaway, Sian Breckin and Jenn Murray in the series created by William Ivory, described as a bitter-sweet character-driven show about getting by in difficult times. The series will follow an eclectic group of irascible characters, men and women, all of whom work for the same trucking company, driving 40 ton lorries across the Midlands. In each...
