The sequel to the Netflix rom-com hit “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” will hit the screens on Feb. 12, 2020, Netflix announced Thursday.
“#ToAllTheBoys: P.S. I Still Love You premieres February 12!” Netflix’s See What’s Next account tweeted. “And a third film — To All The Boys: Always and Forever Lara Jean — is already in production!!!”
Jenny Han, the author of “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” novel, also tweeted the news on Thursday, writing, “It’s official,” accompanying a video featuring stars Lana Condor, Noah Centineo and Jordan Fisher.

T-Mobile CEO John Legere took to Twitter Friday afternoon to make fun of Verizon’s decision to close its Go90 video service.
Titled “Things that lasted longer than #Go90 starter pack,” Legere posted an image depicting, among other things, Korean pop star Psy’s “Gangnam Style” dance, a Microsoft Zune music player, a man bun, Beanie Babies and a selfie stick.

Verizon announced the closure of Go90 Thursday. The telco had launched the video service in late 2015, and positioned it as an ad-supported mobile-first video service for millennials.
Go90 represented a significant investment for Verizon, as the telco spent hundreds of millions of dollars on exclusive and original content from partners including AwesomenessTV, Complex Networks, Vice Media, New Form and Endemol Shine North America. However, despite these investments, Go90 never really managed to attract a sizeable audience,...

Go90 is officially being eighty-sixed.
Verizon’s Go90 free, ad-supported mobile video service — launched nearly three years ago — will cease on July 31. The Go90 app, stocked with a mix of short-form original entertainment, live sports, and licensed TV shows, was never able to attract any kind of sizable audience and as a result struggled to book advertising dollars.
As an attempt to build an mobile entertainment brand from scratch, Go90 failed because Verizon arguably didn’t effectively market the millennial-targeted service. Go90’s operations have already been combined into Oath, the division that merged AOL and Yahoo.
“Following the creation of Oath, Go90 will be discontinued,” a Verizon rep said in a statement. “Verizon will focus on building its digital-first brands at scale in sports, finance, news and entertainment for today’s mobile consumers and tomorrow’s 5G applications.”

In the sexually-charged video for Outta My Hair, Thorne -- who has appeared in several AwesomenessTV productions including Shovel Buddies and You Get Me -- is so smitten by Paul’s mop top that she’s driven to madness. The song features lyrics like “Running your fingers through all of this blonde ambition” and "Trying to blow-dry and brush it you just want to touch it, I can’t get you outta my hair.” The music video has clocked a staggering 6 million YouTube views in less than a day -- and is also available to stream on Spotify or purchase on iTunes.

Digital producers cheered last year when the Television Academy expanded its short-form programming categories. But then they saw the nominees and winners.
Most of last year’s short form contenders didn’t come from digital-first producers or platforms, but came from traditional networks and talent. Adult Swim’s “Childrens Hospital” led all nominees, followed by the History channel’s “The Crossroads of History” and AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462.”
“Childrens Hospital” ultimately won the Outstanding Series category, which included just one independent contender: “Her Story,” about two transgender women living in Los Angeles. Besides “Crossroads of History” and “Flight 462,” the two other nominees were behind-the-scenes looks at popular TV shows: “Hack into Broad City” and “UnREAL The Auditions.”
In the short form nonfiction or reality series, another marketing series won, FX’s “Inside Look: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.”

As it turns out, a game show about emoji in 2017 might be a pretty good idea. Emogenius, the program hosted by YouTube videomaker Hunter March, earned 336,000 viewers during its June 14 premiere, which was good enough to make it Game Show Network's top premiere of the TV season.
Emogenius pits two teams against one another across a series of emoji-themed competitions. After it was first announced in March (how fitting), it received a June 7 premiere date back in May, though it was later pushed back a week. Here's a clip from the show, with March's hosting chops on full display.
March, best known for hosting videos on the AwesomenessTV channel, is a second-generation game show emcee; his grandfather, Hal, led The $64,000 Question more than 60 years ago. Given the nice returns Emogenius has delivered early on, and the positive reviews it has received from a few game show blogs, don't be shocked if the younger March sticks around at his new gig for quite some time.

Awesomeness co-founder to run division aimed at young audiences.
Paramount Pictures chief Jim Gianopulos has hired Brian Robbins to run Paramount Players, a division that will produce filmed content aimed at younger viewers in conjunction with the Viacom flagship brands.
The move follows comments by Viacom chief Bob Bakish earlier this year that Paramount needed to adopt a content strategy that aligned more closely with other brands in the Viacom stable such as Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and Bet.
Awesomeness co-founder Robbins and his team at Paramount Players will develop projects with the flagship brands and Paramount Pictures will market and distribute the co-branded films with an emphasis on digital and social media campaigns.
Robbins, who announced in February he was leaving AwesomenessTV after Comcast acquired parent company DreamWorks Animation, will serve as president of Paramount Players and will report to Gianopulos when he joins the company later this month.

AwesomenessTV co-founder and CEO Brian Robbins is stepping down from his post to pursue other ventures, he wrote to staffers today in a memo shared with Tubefilter.
“The time is right for me to pass the baton and seek new challenges,” he wrote. “We’ve exceeded any expectations I could have set when Joe [Davola] and I started this journey. What began as a YouTube channel has turned into a global brand and the essential next generation media company for Generation Z.”
Going forward, AwesomenessTV president Brett Bouttier will continue to lead the company, and he is currently seeking a new creative partner to help him co-pilot the ship. Robbins will stick around through this transition, he said. “Use this change to discover new talent, break boundaries, and have no fear,” Robbins urged his team. “I know that you all will continue to create awesomeness.”

In addition to imploring YouTube to support more premium content, Robbins noted that the current climate in Washington has him itching to create some political content aimed at his network audience of teens and tweens.
Robbins believes young people are becoming more invested in politics because he has noticed a shift in his conversations with his two sons, who are 17 and 18. “We've grown up talking about sports and stuff, and all of a sudden, all of our conversations with my two boys is politics, and it’s about what's going on," said Robbins. “If my kids want to talks about it so much, my audience wants to talk about it too...An audience that really wasn't that interested is now really interested.”

Though YouTube rose to renown on the promise of homespun content, Brian Robbins, the CEO of Gen Z-skewing digital media giant AwesomenessTV, wants the platform to take a more emphatic embrace of the premium programming that has proliferated across the platform in recent years.
Speaking at Recode’s Code Media conference, Robbins suggested that YouTube could create a separate homepage -- similar to Netflix’s -- that spotlights more traditional series and features. “For guys like us, who are really programming [YouTube] and trying to do more and more premium content, it feels like there needs to be a separate way to discover our content,” he said, per Recode, “because it’s really hard to discover content on YouTube.”
