The “Pitch Perfect” franchise has made a killing at the box office thanks to its clever song mashups and female-charged ensemble, but that hasn’t stopped “people at the top” of Universal Pictures from giving some controversial notes.
Anna Kendrick recently told Harper’s Bazaar that the cast was requested to wear “tighter” costumes and show more skin, despite the fact that the franchise has largely succeeded with fans and audiences by not over-sexualizing its female characters.

The comedian takes aim at Ofcom and Cdn’s Diamond.
Lenny Henry has slammed diversity monitoring scheme Diamond and Ofcom for not going far enough in their attempts to increase Bame representation (writes Broadcast).
Speaking at Sheffield Doc/Fest on Sunday (11 June), the actor-comedian took a swipe at the TV industry’s lack of progress around diversity.
He said that as part of Creative Diversity Network’s Diamond scheme, broadcasters should be forced to publish data on a programme-by-programme basis rather than an anonymised snapshot.
Henry’s comments echoed the criticism levelled at the scheme, which is due to publish its first year results in August, by Bectu and the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain (Wggb).
“It is like they are deliberately not implementing it because people don’t want to do it. It’s such a simple thing to do,” said Henry. “We’ll never know [the diversity of the crew] making these shows.”

A certain fictitious politician is not the biggest fan of Piers Morgan, as seen in the “Love Actually” reunion. The segment entitled “Red Nose Day Actually” aired Thursday on NBC as part of its “Red Nose Day Special,” and the reunion for the popular 2003 film included Hugh Grant’s Prime Minister character, David, squeezing in a dig at the expense of the British TV personality. “Obviously, times for many people have got harder, and people are nervous and fearful. And it’s not just in politics that things are tough,” the P.M. said during a press conference. “Usain Bolt has run his last Olympics,...

“Love Actually” fans outside the U.K. finally get to catch up with all of their favorite characters from the Christmas tearjerker, almost fifteen years after its 2003 release. The 15-minute special originally aired in the U.K. in March as part of Red Nose Day, an international day of giving organized by the charity Comic Relief.
Spoilers Ahead for the “Love Actually” reunion:

The Love Actually Red Nose Day Special already aired on Thursday, May 25 on NBC, but in case you missed it, the short is now available to watch online! The script for the short was written by Richard Curtis and it wonderfully revisits the characters of the classic 2003 film Love Actually. It shows us what our favorite characters are up to in 2017. It's a pretty great reunion special that I think fans of the original film will enjoy and appreciate.
Love Actually is one of my favorite romantic comedies and I thought this was a real treat. The cast that returns includes Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln, Colin Firth, Lucia Moniz, Liam Neeson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Olivia Olson, Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke and Rowan Atkinson. Patrick Dempsey also shows up. When talking about the special, Curtis had this to say:

Love Actually isn’t Love Actually without its hedonistic, aging rock star Billy Mack. But Bill Nighy’s outspoken character was nowhere to be seen during the movie’s mini-sequel, which aired as part of NBC’s Red Nose Day fundraising special Thursday.
Many members of the movie’s cast — including Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln, Liam Neeson, Rowan Atkinson and Colin Firth — took part in the project, which provided a “Where are they now?” look at characters from the popular romantic comedy while highlighting the importance of Red Nose Day, a charity that provides various forms of help to needy kids.

“Can’t this episode just be running slightly less wild?”
Seems like Julia Roberts may be slightly regretting what she signed up for in a sneak peek at her appearance on Running Wild with Bear Grylls for Red Nose Day.

Ben Affleck is bringing a version of his Batman character to TV — all for a good cause.
As part of NBC’s star-studded Red Nose Day Special, which benefits charities fighting child poverty around the world, the Oscar winner will appear as a “stripped-down” version of the famous DC superhero — the first time Affleck is doing so outside of the Batman v Superman and Justice League films.
“I’m doing my Batman voice,” Affleck tells People about his involvement in the special. “No cowl — just the stripped-down, unplugged version.”
Might that be the same version that the father of three occasionally performs for his kids?...

Fans still holding out hope for a follow up to Love Actually will be pleased to know that their favorite characters are set to reunite, though perhaps not in the way that they were expecting. You see, instead of a traditional sequel, the gang is getting together for a short film called Red Nose Day Actually, which is set to air on NBC on May 25th at 10pm Est. Original writer/director Richard Curtis is back behind the camera, and most of the cast members have returned, too, as the trailer above makes clear.
You’ve got Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Rowan Atkinson, Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln, Laura Linney and more, all showing up here and looking like they’re having a rather good time revisiting these characters. Whether that will translate to an enjoyable film or not is another matter entirely, but from the looks of it, Red Nose Day Actually...

Reunion movies and shows are all the rage these days. And while it's great to check back in with some of our favorite characters of all time, the truth is not every movie or TV show can really sustain a full-length sequel. But maybe the unique approach the Love Actually sequel is talking will start a new trend somewhere in the middle. Directed by Richard Curtis and Mat Whitecross, this follow-up to the beloved 2003 romantic comedy isn't a movie, nor is it a TV show. Instead it's a short film that'll serve as a check-in with the first film's characters. It's being produced as part of NBC's Red Nose Day special, a charity event that leverages celebrity power for a good cause. And now we've got a teaser trailer for Red Nose Day Actually, offering our...

Ed Sheeran visited a village in Liberia as part of his 2017 Red Nose Day contribution. During his trip, the singer chatted and got to know kids who had been impacted by the West Africa Ebola breakout in 2014. What follows is Sheeran’s account.
When I told friends I was going to Liberia most of them said “Why?” quickly followed by “Be careful.”
Comic Relief had invited me to make a film for Red Nose Day and I really wanted to put my own spin on it. I’d visited Ghana earlier in the year with friends and everyone I met had been so positive.

You don’t need to have perfect vision that Arrow star Stephen Amell is one ripped dude. In order to sell the idea of him being some dark guardian of Star City, he needed to be. After all, like Batman, he is just a man against foes greater and more powerful than himself, so he needed a fit body to counter his adversaries.
In Season 1, they made a joking staple of Amell working that salmon ladder in his training montages. In many ways, the montages became a staple of the show, and so good did they do with it that when Ben Affleck got around to doing his own montage in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, they didn’t do it nearly as well as Arrow.
