There's never a dull moment with Star around! In Interdimensional Field Trip, she takes Miss Skullnick's class on an interdimensional field trip to the dimension of wonders and amazements. Star thinks that being a leader is about saying yes to everything, but like the Gravity Falls episode Boss Mabel, Star learns the hard way why she can not say yes to everything if she wants to be a good leader and keep her subjects out of danger, for the field trip or for being the queen of Mewni. Marco also had a good charcter arc, when he tries to win Jackie over by sending her kitten pictures, but then gains the courage to talk to her in person and let her sit next to him on the bus. In Marco Grows a Beard, Star uses magic so Marco grows a beard because naturally, he can not grow it fast enough when Jackie like's Blake's beard. When Star loses her wand in all of Marco's hair, she considers what Marco said about satisfaction in doing things yourself, so she uses garden shears to cut through Marco's long magic beard like a normal person would do. We also learn Ludo is afraid of being tickled by hair, and he is a bad leader because he doesn't have the bravery to face his fear and get Star's wand. All the monsters agree to have Toffee throw Ludo out because he is a better leader than Ludo, and Star has to team up with the rejected Buff Frog and Ludo to take down Toffee in the next episode.
