- GoofsJessica mentions getting on the Adirondack train in Vermont in order to get to Montreal. Though the Adirondack does get to Montreal, it passes through New York State, not Vermont. If you think I'm bad, check out my mother...
I've read comments elsewhere that the absence of an over-arcing super villain a la Kilgrave, weakened the premise for this second series of Jessica Jones. They probably have a point but quite apart from the man himself seemingly reappearing to Jessica just when she's at her lowest ebb in one of the best episodes, I found there were enough new characters intermixing with the old and two powerful storylines besides for Jessica to provide more than sufficient compensation.
These two storylines intersected and indeed superseded each other as Jessica initially in the first half of the run seeks to track down and expose the hospital and in particular the doctor who effectively caused her to have her unwanted powers and in the second half encounters and tries to reconcile herself to her meta-powered mother, herself a patient at the same place.
In other sub-plots, solicitor Jeri Hogarth seeks a cure for her terminal illness and runs into a couple of scam artists, Malcolm wises up and hooks up with Tricia briefly before stepping out of Jess's shadow as his own man, Tricia besides falls for a globetrotting news reporter, hits a drug habit, quits her chat show and then obsesses about Jennifer's dangerous mum while there's new love for Jess with the artist-come-counterfeiter downstairs.
It all ends up dramatically late at night in an abandoned carnival with a shocking outcome, though there was still time for some markers to be put down for hopefully a third solo series for this, one of the best of Marvel's TV series.
