Following And then there were none was going to be a challenge, but The BBC certainly delivered with this series. Often unfairly compared with the outstanding film version with the great Marlene Dietrich, this production is dark, gripping, atmospheric and utterly captivating. The characters are drawn in such a way that you're drawn in, Romaine in particular, Riseborough portrays her so well, that you can't help but be spellbound by her. The production values are sensational, costumes, set design, all sumptuous, well contrasted by the smoky, filthy atmosphere of the streets outside.
Sarah Phelps once again pens an impressive script. I thought this was fantastic, style and substance aplenty. 9/10
