Orson Wells tricking people, alien invasion, panic at a McDonald's. On Oct. 30, 1938 the Mercury Theatre on the Air radio program did a dramatization of H. G. Wells' novel 'The War of the Worlds' narrated by Orson. There are totally unsubstantiated claims of widespread panic in which folks listening to a program clearly identified as a radio drama, at the regularly scheduled Mercury Theatre time, narrated by the distinctive voice of a known actor, mistook this supposedly live account of the 30 minute long conquest of the Earth for a real news report.
Baseball game arrest, Joe going down the stadium steps. The live action footage was from 'The Naked Gun', 1988, and continued a running gag where O. J. Simpson's character keeps getting injured.
The title is a reference to the film "Cop and a Half".
