Heartbreaking
GraXXoR22 May 2019
What has set this show apart from its peers since the beginning has been the relatable characters. Despite the teen angst and despite the supernatural storyline, it's the excellent, sympathetic characters that truly keep this show solidly grounded.

The scene between Raphael and his younger sister is just one such perfect moment that other shows would either gloss over or ham up. Yet here, it is handled with such deft mastery of emotion that truly demonstrates Shadowhunters has grown up to be a show emotionally suitable for mature audiences and even managing to tug the calcified heart strings of this crusty old curmudgeon!

More please!

Greater demons are always a step ahead

Warning: Spoilers
It seems as though the greater demons always have the upper end. Shadowhunters are always a step behind. Of course, my fav couple will never evolve their relationship from base 1... There would be no storyline!

At least, being a day-walker has its perks considering that Simon has no Downworld crew that he can belong too. Or a crew that wants him part of their crew.

Plus -whose the crazy new blonde vamp... A relative or the mundane who died from having all her blood sucked out of her body, via her foot? I can't recall if it was that girl or not.

Guess I am irritated with who has gone to the dark side again.

excellent character development

Perhaps my favorite thing about Shadowhunters, is the immense character development. Wow, this episode really tugged at my heartstrings as Maryse has grown so much. I can't wait to see more of her!

Ok to those who say books are better, I'm just saying that we neveeer had a family dinner with Maryse and Magnus and Alec! I love how writers of the show give this much value and screen to a gay couple
