USA Network has picked up to series its drama pilot Dare Me, from Universal Cable Prods. in association with Petter Berg and Michael Lombardo’s Film 44. Key to the project securing a series order by USA was Netflix coming on board for a co-licensing deal — called “co-producing” by USA — with the Internet network taking first-run rights to the series outside of the U.S.
Dare Me, starring Willa Fitzgerald, Herizen Guardiola and Marlo Kelly, was one of four pilots ordered by USA in April. Of the other three, Bourne offshoot Treadstone saw its order upped to straight-to-series last summer when another streamer, Amazon, signed on as international distributor, and Briarpatch was picked up to series last week. The fourth, Erase, starring Denis Leary, is not going forward.

USA Network continues to restock its slate of scripted originals.
With both Mr. Robot and Suits ending this year, the NBCUniversal-owned cable network has handed out a series order to cheerleading drama Dare Me. The news comes days after the cabler picked up Briarpatch, a drama series starring Rosario Dawson and produced by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail. Meanwhile, the fourth and final pilot from USA's April crop — Denis Leary starrer Erase — has been passed over at the cabler.

USA Network has ordered the drama “Treadstone” straight to series, Variety has learned.
The series, which was originally ordered to pilot back in April, centers on the fictional CIA black ops program Operation Treadstone, which was the program that created superspy Jason Bourne. The covert program uses behavior modification protocol to turn recruits into nearly superhuman assassins. The first season follows sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously “awakened” to resume their deadly missions. The series will go into production in 2019.
“As the #1 cable entertainment network for the past 12 years, USA Network is delivering a dynamic lineup of big, bold programming – and what could be bigger and bolder than the Treadstone mythology?” said Chris McCumber, president of entertainment networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.
“Treadstone” is produced by Universal Cable Productions. The series is written and executive produced by Tim Kring. Ramin Bahrani will direct the pilot and also serve as an executive producer.

USA Network has given a straight-to-series order to drama Treadstone, an offshoot from the Bourne franchise, from Heroes creator Tim Kring and Universal Cable Productions.
Treadstone was originally announced as a pilot order on USA’s 2018 slate in April but will now bypass the pilot stage and go straight to series. I hear the decision stems in large part from an international distribution deal Ucp is negotiating with Amazon. In a similar fashion, Ucp’s Syfy’s pilot Nightflyers went directly to series when Netflix took international distribution under its co-licensing model.
I hear new Amazon Studios president Jennifer Salke was instrumental in starting the conversations on Treadstone as she had known the project since its inception and was in on the original pitch in her previous role as president of NBC Entertainment. Because of its Bourne ties, the project has worldwide appeal and name recognition. It also comes from a proven TV creator/showrunner,...
