Lucas is about to confront a mysterious figure from his past on When Calls the Heart. In the April 28 episode of the Hallmark Channel drama, a woman named Jeanette Aucoin arrives in Hope Valley. And it looks like the character, who is played by Cecilia Deacon, could lead to some trouble for the new governor.
Jeanette ‘causes a stir’ in Hope Valley in the next episode of ‘When Call the Heart’
“We have a newcomer in Hope Valley in season 11 from Lucas’s past. Her name is Jeanette,” Lucas actor Chris McNally says in a behind-the-scenes video for Hallmark (via YouTube).
While this is the first time When Calls the Heart viewers have seen Jeanette, she’s not exactly new to the show.
“She’s been threaded through the story, through various seasons, ever since Lucas’s inception,” McNally explains.
Jeanette’s character has been mentioned several times in past seasons.

From the outside, Canadian television is having a moment. Over the past 18 months, major streaming services — Netflix, Prime Video, Paramount+, Disney+ and Apple TV+ — have established Northern presences via offices, execs or PR teams.
Canadian broadcasters are also stepping up. During upfronts and a series of meetings in Toronto last week, public broadcaster CBC boasted more than 4,000 hours of new programming. Bell Media confirmed an additional 210 hours of English and French-language original content, bolstering its original library to more than 1,000 hours. Corus Entertainment announced 25 new and returning series across its brands.
Even Rogers Sports & Media, which has historically commissioned fewer hours of originals than its competitors, confirmed original programming for the Omni channel and the return of “Canada’s Got Talent” and “Hudson & Rex” while announcing the upcoming “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent.”
According to Canadian producers however, getting a TV series off the ground in Canada is harder than ever.

Hey, "FBI" fans. If you guys tuned in this past Tuesday night, May 24, 2022 to catch the season 4 finale of FBI, I'm quite sure most of you guys were very disappointed to see that CBS did not air it, and ran a repeat episode instead. According to the folks over at Deadline.com , CBS decided to pull the finale episode 22 in light of the terrible elementary school shooting that took place in Texas. Apparently, this particular episode contains a storyline that involves the FBI team preventing a school shooting. So, it apparently hit too close to home for them to air it that night. Instead, CBS re-aired the 12th episode of this season 4 titled,"Under Pressure." CBS' official description for it reads like this, "Maggie goes undercover working in a bar to investigate an anti-government group that regularly gathers there and has several members suspected in a series of bombings. The...

The FBI Season 4 finale will not be airing as scheduled on Tuesday, May 24. CBS has pulled the episode of the crime procedural in the wake of the Texas school shooting that left 18 children and a teacher dead. The episode was held as its storyline was related to a school shooting, with the synopsis reading, “As the team investigates a deadly robbery that garnered a cache of automatic weapons for the killers, they discover one of the perps is a classmate of Jubal’s son, who is reluctant to cooperate with the case.” During its usual timeslot, CBS is re-airing Episode 12 from this season, “Under Pressure,” which originally aired in February. The official synopsis of the episode reads: “Maggie goes undercover working in a bar to investigate an anti-government group that regularly gathers there and has several members suspected in a series of bombings. Nonfiction filmmaker Brett Morgen has taken on icons in his previous films including Jane Goodall (“Jane”), the Rolling Stones (“Crossfire Hurricane”) and Kurt Cobain (“Cobain: Montage of Heck”). With “Moonage Daydream,” he turns his lens on David Bowie. It may be Morgen’s biggest project yet — he combed through 5 million assets that the Bowie estate shared with him as well as “everything on YouTube,” Morgen said. He used Bowie performance footage, interview clips, movie clips, stills, artworks (including Bowie’s own paintings) and other visuals including animation to paint an impressionist portrait of an artist and his art.
The Neon film premieres out of competition in a midnight slot May 23 at Cannes.
Morgen met with Bowie in 2007 to discuss a “hybrid nonfiction film and the timing wasn’t right on it,” he said. In 2016, he went back to the estate and said he was interested in creating an “experiential IMAX movie,...

Few companies have put as much energy as Brazilian TV giant Globo into pushing out their new slate during the week when NATPE Miami was scheduled to occur.
Packed with new and retuning hit shows, Globo’s roster marks a robust consolidation of early last year’s business strategy of unifying free TV, pay TV, streaming and digital properties under the name “One Single Globo”.
Rubbing shoulders with burgeoning franchises – the second season of eco thriller “Aruanas,” Season 4 of social issue medical drama “Under Pressure” — is “In Your Place,” the new telenovela that is airing in prime time in Brazil.
The show is created and written by Lícia Manzo, one of the many talented female writers that are propelling a new era of Globo, author of such hits as “The Life We Lead.”

“Dancing with the Stars” has paid its dues, time after time, so now we have Queen Night. The remaining nine couples will perform to tunes by the iconic band and face off in relays on Monday.
After their show-stopping, perfect score-earning “Us”-themed routine last week, Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach will try to keep the momentum going with a paso doble to “Another One Bites the Dust.” The paso itself ought to fit him and Karagach will surely bring it with the choreography again.
The group relays feature three different styles — jive, foxtrot and Viennese waltz — and the couples will compete for bonus points from the judges. Of note, the three groups feature one with all male celebrities and one with all female celebrities. Sadly, “Bohemian Rhapsody” is not on deck.

As Hollywood gets into gear with decreased pilots and staggered production, Canadian broadcasters that typically rely on U.S. programming acquisitions to anchor their fall schedules have also faced a shortage of new product. But a dearth of American shows is also leading to new opportunities.
The three private broadcasters — Bell Media, Rogers and Corus — presented virtual upfronts to advertisers this week, unveiling schedules that remained fairly similar year-on-year as executives banked on stability and returning series, with a few, coronavirus-era tweaks.
“It wasn’t really a seller’s market,” says Corus Entertainment’s SVP of broadcast networks, Daniel Eves. “There was less product available, but there was also less to show in terms of what a pilot would be. The first European deals for cop and canine drama “Hudson & Rex” are rolling in ahead of the show getting its official international premiere at MipTV in Cannes. The show is the English-language remake of a Europe-originated procedural about a detective and his German Shepherd sidekick, Rex. Italian pubcaster Rai has bought the Canada-produced version, having aired the original European version for several seasons.
The North American show was for CityTV in Canada. It stars John Reardon (“Van Helsing”) as detective Charlie Hudson and Mayko Nguyen (“Cracked”) as his human partner Sarah Truong.
Beta Film is on sales duty and struck the Italian deal. An as-yet-unidentified French broadcaster is also on board and set to be announced soon. Agreements in other territories are understood to be at an advanced stage. Beta is giving the show its international launch as part of the market screenings program at the MipTV market in Cannes.
