Grimm: Revelation (2014)
So much drama
Honestly, I've only watched 6 minutes of this episode, so this is more about the previous ep and the start of this one as well as generally about the series.
I could do without less forced drama, truly I could. I really like the show and it started out so strong, but lately there's been SO MUCH relationship issues. I used to really like Rosalee but lately it's been one drama after another. Juliette is insufferable. And the one bright spot - the unlikely comradeship and friendship between a Grimm and a Wesen - hardly gets any screen time anymore. Also, at the start of this episode Monroe said to Nick that helping Nick seems to be the only thing his good for (meaning that's the only reason Nick ever comes to him), and what does Nick do? Leaves, and tells Juliette that he should stop asking Monroe's help so often. So, it was true then? "Help" is the only thing Monroe's good for? I think Nick actually considers him a friend, so why doesn't he make it clear to Monroe? Why doesn't he say this to Juliette (or the useless Juliette could say it to him): instead of asking for his help all the time, why not spend some time just as friends! But no, that would be all too rational, so it would mean less needless drama, so entirely impossible...
Please, just focus on the lore and the adventure and the plots. The storming off in a huff and the wringing of hands is really starting to get old.
The Blacklist: Katarina Rostova (No. 3) (2019)
Stupid Liz, boring Katarina
I'm starting to be pretty damn sick and tired of the Rostova ladies. Liz is flaky and naive, and obviously willing to believe everyone else except Reddington, and always so, so certain that the world owes her explanations. How her team, Red and Dembe keep liking her is beyond me. Are we, the viewers, supposed to like her? Relate to her in some way?? I've rarely disliked a main character this much. And now we've got her lovely mother as well! Yay.
Red is awesome. The blacklist stories, for the most part, are very interesting. And please, someone give a prize to whoever is in charge of picking the music to the episodes!
But Liz and the boring storyline of Katarina...geez...
Granted, the end of this episode took me by surprise which is always nice BUT it meant we didn't get rid of Katarina. Sigh.
Game of Thrones: The Rains of Castamere (2013)
How am I supposed to sleep after this?
I've read the books. I knew, I KNEW, this was coming. Still I was foolish enough to think, late in the evening, I'll "just watch this one episode more".
The books were epic. But it's another thing altogether to have the story shoved into your eyes and brains like this. Up until the previous episode, I've thought the series is perfect -- the casting, script, theme music, photography, everything. After this episode, I'm at a loss for words. What's there to say after 'perfect'?
This is how TV should be made. With high ambition, talent, relentless strive for perfection. Even though I knew these plot points were coming, this episode shook me to the core.
The Red Wedding is, of course, a masterpiece. However, what happens is Yunkai is important, the storyline at the Wall & the Gift are awesome, and I can't help but like the Hound, and his interaction with Arya is really good, those characters have chemistry. (and I like tv-Arya more than the book-Arya!)
