Great, and Goofy, but that is part of the charm.
10 March 2024
Andrew M. Chamberlain portrays Andy Bluetooth, a young television actor who portrays The Little Kung Fu Dude in an imaginary television series. It isn't really a martial arts movie with lots of action, but has twists and turns enough in 23 minutes o be convoluted. But it is a lot of fun!

It is currently available free on You Tube under "Adam Hadas in 'The Little Kung Fu Dude.' " Adam Hadas portrays another character.

The fictional Little Kung Fu Dude show is very popular on television, but in real life Andy Bluetooth falls into serious, serious difficulties, hungry and homeless. The filmmakers' message seems to be in the question, "what is wrong with you people?"

So the talented young man is in trouble, and has to find a way out.

Forever Home (2023)

Excellent horror/ghost/comedy/drama
2 April 2023
I saw this at the Phoenix Film Festival, which was the world premiere. Very well done with good writing, acting, special effects (watch for the red gloves).

It starts off as the basic everyday event of a happy couple moving into a new house together. The facts about the house and its inhabitants quickly become clear to them, and the risk to them if they stay in the house "too long."

It keeps moving along with fine actors portraying good characters, never a moment when you feel you're ready to leave and get popcorn. Just enough mix of the genres for everybody.

This one I have to highly recommend, and the filmmakers said it would be presented at additional film festivals this year.

Next Exit Isn't Worth It.
28 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Next Exit Isn't Worth It. And I saw it for free. They were giving away tickets for one performance, and the theater was maybe 1/3 full.

What good can I say about it? Interesting cinematographic approach in the first scene.

It is very choppy, with no clear point, message, or plot. It is various unconnected scenes joined together with no real flow between them. The heroine sells a television set, pockets the cash, and then destroys the television in front of the buyer with no clue of why. They are driving on I-40 westbound and suddenly are on a dirt road with no indication of how they got there.

Really Good; for Adults Too
28 October 2022
Really well done. I didn't realize it was animation when I set the DVR. It is fine for kids, but is interesting enough for adults to enjoy, too. I saw the English version when it was on one of the free cable channels.

I can understand why kids today aren't interested in the cartoons from years ago, the technology has advanced so much.

We follow a young boy from Pompeii to Rome, where he is weak and timid and not really interested in much. His stepfather tries to make him strong and bold, and find and develop his talents. And therein lies the plot.

I would say for around 6 years old and up, and definitely all the way up through adulthood.

Good Allegory
9 January 2022
It is in German with English subtitles (good subtitles, easy to follow). It is an allegory of the cruelty of the Nazis, produced in 1966, but set in the Austrian-Hungarian Empire of the early 20th century. It does move a little slowly at times, but builds up to an excellent closing monologue by Torless at the end.

First Part Gets you Interested, Rest is Meaningless
1 January 2022
The first part is interesting, about some high school students in class taking a test when "something" starts to happen and they speculate about what is going on. The characters interact which each other (as students they all already know each other) and it starts to look like a fascinating movie is before us. Then we go into the remainder of the movie which consists of various meaningless attempts by the adult world to discover what the "doors" are about, what they lead to, and so on, and a totally flat ending.

My advice: don't bother watching at all because the beginning will get you interested in something that turns out not to be worth your time.

Don't Waste Your Time and Money
15 August 2021
I saw The Night House at the Phoenix Film Festival. It lacks any real plot or story. There isn't a clear flow or ending. It is a montage of scary scenes that are stitched together with no real connections. The audience leaves confused about what happened, why it happened, or even how it happened.

Excellent, don't read up on it first
25 May 2021
I see it as excellent. Don't read the reviews, trivia, etc., before seeing it. The less you know about what is going to happen, the better your viewing experience will be.

Good photography, especially in the early scene with one continuous movement through the setting. Expertly done.

Outstanding!
28 November 2020
If this series was on prime time television as family entertainment, it would be one of the best rated shows on television! Really good.

The first episode is a little difficult to make sense of as they are trying to introduce many characters and the situations, but this is the foundation for everything to follow. Episodes two and following are hard to turn away from--I watched each one straight through--and found them interesting, exciting, and very well done: acting, camera work, effects, etc. Great all around, no question.
