2012 (2009)
This is a 10/10 disaster movie
Don't go in expecting a cinematic masterpiece. But it's a disaster cinematic masterpiece. It's beautiful. The humanity explored is spectacular. And freaking Woodey Harrelson.... Brah. You can't beat his character.
I think it's a very accurate representation of what would happen if something like this scientifically could ever happen. The events of how humans react and try to survive while trying to maintain their humanity. It's beautiful. It's wacky. It's funny. I do ignore the science but you absolutely cannot deny how great the disaster scenes are!!! Truly iconic haha.
So watch it and enjoy. Just see if for what it is.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (2023)
One of my favorite episodes
This episode really made me feel something. I wasn't sure I like La'an last season, I remember thinking I wouldn't be sad if she didn't come back. But now she's becoming one of favorite characters. I think I finally get her now, and get why she's so closed off. I've 100% been there. I think she's amazing and this episode was too.
Spoiler here: I LOVE time travel episodes!!! They make me happy. Ans this one was very well done. Kirk and La'an.... Wow. More please. Somehow. And I know someday, I'll look back on this episode with as much fondness (or perhaps fear...) as I do now when I see the 1990 LA Voyager episodes.
Inheritance (2020)
6 for the actors, but something was just off
Well firstly, Lily Collins was about 30 here but looks younger and she's the NYC DA? Okaaaay.
Second, I couldn't root for her. But then I couldn't root for him because he too felt evil.
The movie was very slow and easy going until the "twist" at the end but uh like..... she's the best DA. She wouldn't check more?
The actors were lovely. She's a better actress than I knew. Simon Pegg was honestly a bit terrifying. Good job.
But yeah the whole thing really made me hate rich people even more. So much immorality. Now granted, I would've been murdered, but my first thought would be to rush and get that guy medical attention. He'd been alone for days since the dad died. Hers was too but then she hung up the phone. So I don't really feel super bad for anyone except for the mom. The dad could've just explained stuff. Like hello.
It could've been a really great story with some changes. Had the right actors.
Murder Mystery (2019)
I couldn't love it
I love profanity. I like Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston quite a bit. I love Luke Evans. I did not like this movie.
It wasn't the worst. The mystery and the actors and the locations are why I didn't turn it off. But some stuff was baffling and the comedy was just not funny 99% of the times. It should've been a really funny comedy spoof of murder mysteries. It wasn't. Was NOT the actors' fault. Clearly was the writers/directors.
For example, you're telling me the wife would freaking leave the country in the middle of the night while she's wanted for murder without her husband or any way to contact him? Like no. Then they run into each other and it's like "okay no hard feelings but we don't even say that." I mean come on. And the sex scene was bizarre and honestly the jokes weren't even jokes. None of it felt right. Only thing I did like was the Murder plot..
He's All That (2021)
It's not a perfect movie but I enjoyed it
The haters are weird. Granted the first time I watched it I didn't super enjoy it but I did the second time. I can't expect it to be the same. It's not AS good as original even watching both with fresh eyes but it's enjoyable if you don't take it too seriously.
Oh the main guy was hot even before the makeover? Welcome to every movie like this ever.
I enjoyed the dancing and singing quite a bit and like the two main actors. Won't say any spoilers but loved the end credits scene. That's what it should be like for young people. Ahh.
Enjoyed the cameos by the original She's All That actors but don't know why they weren't their original characters lol.
When We First Met (2018)
The more I watch it, the more I like it
The first time I watched this I thought it was kinda stupid. But I did watch it again. Then a third time. By the second time I really quite liked it. It's a lighthearted movie with some deep real messages. Will watch again many times.
I also didn't realize till just now, thanks to the trivia, that he goes back in time in a photo booth and the woman he ends up with is a photographer. Fits and fits like a puzzle. And so true about life. You can try to force things and it always ends in heart ache. You have to go with the flow, with "destiny." You'll know Always. Don't override your own instincts.
Star Trek: Voyager: Sacred Ground (1996)
A solid episode
I'm very much agnostic and I liked this episode. I was surprised to see such low ratings on IMDB. I liked that they show how life can still have mysteries. What is ultimately true, faith or science? I mean I believe science but the point is we don't know. Maybe I like it because I'm agnostic. I also liked how far Janeway was willing to go for Kes.
Bones: The Diamond in the Rough (2013)
Bones Dancing Horribly
I love this episode. I LOVE the undercover Buck and Wanda episodes. They really get to show their romance and deep connection together. I still don't know how they got Emily to dance so badly. It makes me laugh. I really enjoy this season of Bones. Something about it is different and a waltz of a season.
