L'homme blessé (1983)
What a wonderful and touching film...
When the film came out I didn't dare watch it. Now - thanks to Netflix - I had another chance and what a fantastic experience it was. Not only is there a young and moving Jean-Hugues Anglade, the beautiful Vittorio Mezzogiorno but also the outstanding Armin Mueller-Stahl in a smaller part. Also look for Denis Lavant (known from his work with Leos Carax) in an early part. Bravo!

The Devil - again?
Oh boy - what a waste of talent. I hope they got paid handsomely.

Bravo!
A beautiful and mesmerizing film for adults. All actors are top notch and the Italian scenery are outstanding. Bravo!
Drama på slottet (1943)
Ipsen's Dreyer film
Danish actress and director Bodil Ipsen was very eager to work with Carl Dreyer - 'even in a small part', she wrote in a letter. He wasn't interested and Ipsen made her own historical film in 'Drama paa slottet' (Drama in the Castle). Today the film is very stiff and stagy but still holds it's own atmosphere of lust and feelings in the old castle. Gull-Maj Norin and Bodil Kjer are quiet international in their performances - Norin looks fantastic and Kjer is way above the material. The other actors are all very good and it is clear that Ipsen had a great talent as a director of actors. She should know since she worked as one for over 50 years! The film is very rare and is not available on DVD.
