Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures (2023)
Meant for kids
This was a fun show to watch with my son, it is light and fun for kids. This is a great way to introduce kids into the SWU without all the violence or adult themes. Yet it teaches kids all the things you need to know about jedi, ships and the various worlds culture, food and people that will peak their interest.
The animation is good, very colorful and well geared towards kids. The attention to detail like fur, vegetation and dirt/ rust on ships is well done. The voice actors do a good job portraying their characters in which you can buy into one.
Recommend for kids and parents wanting to share their love of Star Wars.
The Terminal List (2022)
Yawn
This show is filled with the typical one dimensional characters, plot lines and overall just bland.
I like Chris Pratt, he was amazing in Parks and Rec, but this performance felt forces and did not feel genuine.
Would I recommend, not really.
The Sandman (2022)
Yawn
This show is not captivating at all, with it's one dimensional characters, lack of dialog and mass bordem of a plot.
It was very easy to play games on my phone then watch this show. If you have nothing else to watch or just need the TV on in the background, then this show is for you.
Ms. Marvel (2022)
Meant for kids
Updated June 20: I have bumped my original rating to 5 due to the actors, its becuase of them this show got any stars, without them this show would be a 0. I think the writing is garbage along with CGI, like I said a very Disney Channel vide.
For those who thought this could transcend age, they are mistaken. This is a show meant for kids, in particular those who are in grade school, kinda like Saved by the Bell, but whereas that show had a wider range of ages groups watching, Ms Marvel is hard to watch for anyone over 16, as I said this is a clear Dsiney channel show, meant for that type of audience.
The plot, character development and CGI have demonstrated that this belongs in the same category as Hannah Montana. Will it find an audience, maybe, but for those who are invested in comics, this is a let down.
The main actress does a fine job, I have no complaints, same with the supporting cast, but honestly the writing is just garbage. Writing brought this show down to 3 stars along with the CGI.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Ughhh
Two episodes down and honestly there are no sparks or a wow factor. This could have easily been a book. I have waited so long for this show and it falls fast pretty hard.
This review will be updated at the end of the season. Based on what I seen so far, it's disappointing, and the acting is just so hard to watch, case in point Reva, there is no malice or mean streak in the actor, you can tell she is acting and it's sad and not believable, its very forced and laughable to see her try to bully the towns people.
The grand inquisitors make-up is a complete joke, how much does Disney have in the coffers and this is the best they can do. It looks like someone said hey, let's use plaster and lots of it!
Am I the only one who is getting tired of CGI, where are the real sets and locations.
Gomorrah (2014)
Perfection at its best
This was one hell of a show, the fact that it was all in Italian with the Napolitano accents made the show feel very real. The who cast was brilliant and brought the world of organized crime to life, by showing the sheer brutality of the Comorra, it was fascinating and terrifying to see such a world.
I have never delved into the Comorra, this was an eye opener and a must watch.
