True Science Fiction

Everybody has a story to tell, but do they? Truth becomes lies and lies develop into more lies. It's an interesting concept of survival, conspiracy and espionage. I found it a little confusing to start but then backgrounds and suspicions open up the characters to dispel whatever plot you decided was going in the right conclusion.

This series never followed the usual SciFi deranged and confusing plots, or tries to impress with over the top special effects.

Each episode left you unable to know if the storyline was full of explanations or about to take an unscheduled twist. It left me wanting to look forward to another series. One can hope!

Magnifique production francaise

Alexander Dumas was on my curriculum at College and why I showed an interest in fencing, so was very impressed with many of the brutal and gritty fights

Most of the versions that came before in English, certainly never achieved the Standard of this excellent adaptation and I wonder why it has not been attempted by the French so delicately and colourful in the past.

Ballroom shots of The Palace of Fontainebleau were atmospheric as were the many other grand chateaux.

Eva Green as Milady provides some glamour and returns in the sequel in December. You should never close a lengthy movie with "to be continued " especially as it was a crucial scene!

A disaster full of success.

A disaster movie yes, but certainly not a disaster to watch with unexpected plot twists and emotional panic as you think the end is nigh.

Special effects are perfectly created in the background, and they are good! It all merges around the cast. A cast of unknown actors who really are good enough so the disaster doesn't steal the screen.

As someone obsessed by space travel, I found the space station sequences so realistic I had to check to see if the ISS was still in orbit.

Well at a cost of nearly £6million it's production has a much sharper edge and excitement than most of those released in Hollywood and Korea.
