Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Now the ring is complete, when i left you i was an apprentice...
Is difficult to be cool after have just seen it in the Italian release in a midnight premiere. Is 2.47 am of may the 20th and i must admit that Geoirge Lucas is a smart guy. He had listened all the fan suggestion and he has corrected the shot from Episode I, that i quite liked, especially in the visual way, but was a little bit childish as plot. And, when it was released had an impact great (i repeat, on the technical way, in a way to let the 1977 work as a Luna park compared to Diseyland, if you know what i mean). So the story this time is great, there are all the citations that must be, for instance the Frankenstein's (Karloff's of course) one, when Darth Vader "really" born. The story has its dark taste, and i think this is what it has to be. the duels are as they must be, with the logical Asian influence (but we must not forget that the story, in the beginning, was a mixture of genders, Asian, 30's serials, sword & sorcery all in sci-fi sauce...), but very very huge. A defect in the too much quick death of Chris Lee, but i think we can forgive... For the rest is a great chapter, under the original only because is not the original and can combat with "Empire Strikes back" for the role of best chapter. There should be a lot of more things to say but, first, I don0t want to be thrown in a lava river for have saying too much:), and i really late and i begin to feel tired and need to go in exile....May the Force be with all of you....and gives to George the strength (and the will) to make the final 3 chapters (at this time is the only thing to do, we know is difficult and he said he doesn't want, but is time to beg him....bye bye Jedi friends!

The best of the post, but avoid the Italian DVD
So, here we are. This movie, in its theatrical acception is one the best "Fagioli Western" I ever seen. I know it, pratically line by line (like the Alexander's Army...:)), and is funny exact like the original. If someone thinks that is poor in script is, imho, wrong, because everything is perfect. The gags are still funny, except for one or two that better in the original but, after 33 years (i wrote this in 2005!!) they still works, also better than in some Hollywood craps...the real problem is in the Italian DVD (manifactured by Medusa, owned by the Italian prime minister...:((). The first thing is there are a lot of missing scenes, including one "Leone-Morricone" trumphet one, that was in the original theatrical, that was quite more than 1 minute long!!!! It was placed after the restaurant and before the one when they meet the bad guys boss that offers them money "to keep eyes closed". Maybe was a scene too much political (infact, if my memory is not wrong, was about the people's conditions in the village). The other missing scenes are placed, with perfect video restoration and a "mysterious" bad audio, in the "Cut scenes" section of the DVD. I cannot believe! This is a very bad thing. When the movie passes on TV the scenes are all at their places (is more than 3 minutes of unnecessary cuts!). Why on DVD this bloodbath? So my rate is 9,5/10 for the movie and 5/10 for the DVD. We want the original ones. Thanks
Lo chiamavano Trinità... (1970)
Simply the best
This is one of the best "fagioli-western", maybe because is the really first one that leaves the violence, that after Leone and the others masters of spaghetti-western, that (IMHO) are more realistic and better than more America's one, to marry the ironic side of the moon. There are no dead times and the whole movie, every time passes on italian TV, takes also 6-8 million (on an audience that usually goes up to 25 millions only when plays the "Nazionale" of soccer). The movie is leaded by a funny theme that recalls Morricone's anthemes (except for the not high sense tragedy), and mixes the differences between the two carachters. This is nothing new, is from Laurel & Hardy that this happens. But, you know, if it works, works, and it works so much!!! There is nothing in common with modern craps like actual comedies (in Italy such as in the US) do. No verbal violence, a bit of sadism (one man is evirate...) and a lot of fun. You'll love to hate Farley Granger (The Major), you really will think that "la mia esposa stava al fiume...un Gringo l'aggredì, que la voleva...", and, of course, you will try to steal horses or be a gambler for living. See it and tell me....have fun!
