Warning: Spoilers
I am in awe of this movie's sumptuous feast of colour and imagery! The storyline of the characters are predictable, I don't mind though. The CGI and 3D make up for anything else that you might want to 'whinge' or complain about.

My son is 17 and unfortunately did not see this in 3D which affected his review. He said it was so-so on the storyline. He usually loves this kind of movie, so I was surprised. Meanwhile, he will be sent back to see it again with his big brother and change his review! The 3D version has gorgeous and believable depth, you'll see all plant life, creations & machinery you haven't seen in a movie before, too. All in sharp 3D. It's done in the way that it isn't cheesy and corny. (Remember Jaws & Friday 13 in 3D? ugh). The vegetation, animals & material things are jutting out suddenly or floating around subtly. You do feel like you are part of the movie, nicely done I think. After awhile, you are aware of the little pieces of this and that around in 3D and ooh and ah at it quietly, really. (We could hear ourselves and people around us, respectively doing this.

No one was disruptive or acting like idiots in the audience, not one peep! I think everyone was humbled to experience this incredible CGI creativity. I was sad ;o) when it reverted back to human form throughout, I just wanted to see the CGI all the time! No Jar Jar Binks & Gollum in this movie. 100 times better than that, too.

I love futuristic movies, this one is up there with the best. Yes the US marines are stereotyped in this movie, oh well, too bad. They serve a purpose. There are environmental, corporate, moral, ethical and tolerance messages throughout this movie.

This is a keeper and I believe one of the best, visually stunning movies ever made. How James Cameron made his people steam train forward with his vision is incredible. I look forward to many more movies made like this one, not necessarily alien / futuristic. This will surely bring people back to the good old cinema.

This should / must win all the awards for art direction, editing. I wonder how pain staking some of this was to make? I love Star Wars & Lord of the Rings, but this movie tops both of them for the breakthrough imagery on screen. So enjoyable. I think we will see it again maybe at the Sydney IMAX.

Do not dare to cheap out and download this, people!!! You will not regret seeing it - on the bigger screen the better!! On another note, I can't believe our local little town cinema did not install the Dolby 3D equipment (they said would cost $200k). If not now, but also for the future of movies going forward. The lady at the cinema told me, "oh, there are only a few scenes with 3D" BullS@#&%!!!! We went in town and saw it in 3D, thankfully.

So summarizing, ahh... $16 AUD well spent, I'd spend another.. will the eventual DVD come with those 3D glasses? I hope so!! Go see it before you are the last one and everyone has finished talking to death about it, will ya? Cheers to James Cameron. I give it a 300 million (cost to make it) thumbs up!!!

Moved along nicely although a bit predictable.

Warning: Spoilers
This doesn't contain any spoiler - I just didn't want to be blacklisted for any reason on my very first review on IMDb! Went and saw the movie today. I like Russell Crowe but thought his character was a bit flat and unemotional, I guess that's him being a journalist. Funny he loathes them in real life, but there is a line in the movie where he tries to explain they are respectable.

Although there are several high profile actors/actresses in this movie I thought the acting was a bit flat (except Jason Bateman, he is a standout providing the only laughs) and stereotypical of the roles they were assigned, which lead to my predictions about the plot early on that turned out somewhat correct.

It does leave you guessing a bit until near the end, not very suspenseful though. I would not consider this a full on political thriller compared to Russell's Body of Lies and Proof of Life. None of the roles in this are Oscar worthy either.

It irks me when I see a movie that at the final critical moment a character that has been shown with a steady resolve in the movie - becomes unbelievable/cheesy and I find myself saying, "That would have NOT happened in real life, come on already". Obviously that happens in this movie, you'll know when you see it. Of course they save it until the end, they have your money now, don't they?

The movie is pretty easy to follow, not really a thinking person's movie but a bit messy in set design for a purpose. I like neat and tidy! All the offices are messy with paper everywhere, bit of a distraction through out. Trying to tell you - in this movie paper is required and virtuous! Stick around for the credits, the process is interesting though.

I have not seen the BBC series which I heard was in 6 parts, but thought this movie was okay. Sorry guys, no sex, not much swearing, I think Mrs Crowe (Danielle Spencer) and Mrs Affleck (Jen Garner) put their foot down, haha. But then again, the two guys aren't the sexiest, so no bother.

Concluding, I think it is for a DVD rental only. How much money have I saved you but, cost the film co.? Thank me when you are pressing pause to have a bathroom break. Cheers
