3 hommes et un couffin (1985)
Could have been better
The movie has aged. It was funnier when it came out in 1985.
Michel Boujenah and especially Roland Giraud were very entertaining.
Unfortunately, Andre Dussollier's acting was a total disappointment. The entire time I watched the movie, I kept telling myself how horrible his acting was.
Overall, the story does not make a lot of sense (mother abandoning baby at the door step, Jacques' mother refusing to care for her grandchild, Air France's stewart dealing heroine, but returning from Thailand with no drugs in his possession, etc.) but most viewers will look past this nonsense and enjoy the movie for what it is.
Free Dance (2016)
What makes this movie so captivating?
Is it the amazing chemistry between Barlow and Zander during their first dance? It is so realistic we can feel her intimidation and attraction to that handsome and stunning man. Meanwhile, we are mesmerized by her grace, elegance, and his sensual masculinity.
Is it Charlie's kindness, perseverance, and sensitivity that gives us that sense of affection? Scenes after scenes, we gradually discover his extraordinary talent.
Is it the beautiful music score (for the most part), which could not be more in sync with the dance movements?
By then we think we have it all figured out, but we are still far from being prepared for the premiere of the show, as it is even beyond anyone's imagination!
Now, not sure about the choice of actress for the role of Kayla, as she is underwhelming, and obviously never had a lesson of ballet in her life!
