The Village (2004)
slightly disappointed
Other M. Night Shyamalan film I've seen such as "The sixth Sense" and "Signs" I found very suspenseful, and to say the least very well done. Those movies held me in for the whole running time, and I felt like there was never a dull moment. The twists and turns at the end of those films made me leave the movies very satisfied. Each of those films received 4.2 stars (6th sense) and 4.6 stars (signs) out of 5 from me.
However, when I saw "The Village" last Sunday evening, I was very disappointed. It was sort of predictable in parts. A few scenes had me on the edge of my chair, and the cinematography was beautiful, but... I was thrilled in an over all aspect of the film. The story was great, interesting plot and was told very well. But it's ending was sort of abrupt. You don't find out certain things by the end of the film, so you have to draw out what happens in your mind. Basically one of those "you decide" endings. there's nothing wrong with that sort of ending, but I feel that it didn't exactly suit this particular film.
It probably didn't help that I was sitting with a rude audience who was laughing at times when people were scared, or when people got hurt. and there were these preteens laughing and giggling through the whole film. I do plan on seeing it again. Maybe I missed something because of the distractions. but until then, I'm going to give it 3 out of 5 stars. Pathfinder liked it, it was good, but it could have been better. M. Night is way more talented then that.
Shin Kido Senki Gundam Wing Endless Waltz (1998)
Not bad at all
After seeing this movie repeated times, I've concluded that it isn't bad at all. This movie was very exciting. I'm a fan of the TV series, and while the movie not as good as the series, I found that it was still very good. The story told here seemed very unique. It was told beautifully. The voice acting features some of the best names in the industry, including my favorite voice over Mr. Scott McNeil. On a scale of 1-10 1 being the worst and 10 being the best I give this Movie a score of 8. I loved seeing what became of the Gundam Pilots after the main story Arc. Seeing them a year after Mobile Suit Gundam Wing took place was amazing. Great movie!
A Clockwork Orange (1971)
EggyWeggs
Ah, I love to vidie a good film every now and again. Stumbling across this movie one day on TV sparked my interest in the film. Years later, I was talking to the boy which would later become my boyfriend (and film mentor so to speak) he told me what the film was called. Not too much time after that I purchased the film. It later sparked interest in the man who became my favorite Director; Stanly Kubrick. "A Clockwork Orange" is a truly unique film. It really makes some one think, what would you do to make sure that your safe? This film is incredibly controversial. Its very comical and ultra violent. A Lamentible comedy so to speak. This film isn't for the faint of heart, and its really not for those of us who blush at the sight of skin (I like it anyway ^-^'). On a scale of 1-10; 1 being the worst, 10 being the best I give Stanly Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" a perfect 10. This movie is my favorite film by my favorite director.
