Fool Me Once (2024)
Are we the fools for watching this...?
The story just has so many plot holes and unanswered questions. These are just the ones that come to the top of my mind after just finishing the series.
Once Maya knew Joe killed Claire, why didn't she just take the gun and the bullet to the police? It had his finger prints on it.
Why was Shane acting so shifty in the dark? He was round her house all the time, could've just put the tracker on during the day. Why stare through the window at her...
Why did Lily say 'Daddy' to a bush?
How did the Burketts know that Maya had a secret video frame to deep fake it in the first place?
Why would deep faking Joe into a video make Maya admit she killed Joe? That plan makes no sense.
What happened to the best friends (who gave Maya the frame) and what was the point of her 'cheating' story?
What was the point of the half brother story and why didn't we see him meeting his real dad?
Why was Maya always looking so confused when she was alone on screen until it was revealed that she killed her husband?
Why did Joe wait so many years only to kill the captain eventually anyway?
What happened to the Burketts? I'm guessing the son goes to prison for murder but what about the mum and daughter? The daughter didn't do anything wrong did she?
Why did the daughter tell Maya that her mother was paying off the police officer? If the mother wanted her to, why? What purpose did that serve?
Who were the other two boys that witnessed the murder on the yacht? Why didn't the three of them all go to the police together if they were scared of Joe? Why did only one of them end up in an institute? Why didn't he speak up as soon as he found out Joe was dead, instead of waiting for Maya to visit?
Why didn't the boy on the motorbike tell the police he witnessed Maya kill Joe straight after it happened?
Why didn't Maya take the gun that didn't work instead. She would've still filmed them trying to kill her and admitting the dodgy drugs.
There's just too much 'story' here which is specifically to raise more questions as to what's going on but it's forced and doesn't make any sense unfortunately. The acting goes from really good drama to really bad soap in an instant. Very inconsistent throughout. It was difficult to stick with it and overall a disappointing show.
FIFA 23 (2022)
Just awful
Just way too many issues for me. EA have had two years to fix some of these issues from FIFA 21 and still haven't! And some are new. Kit selection bug where they don't load properly, refs also still wear the same colour as the teams, full time whistle blows at any point even when attacking in the opponent's box, advantage is awful now: we scored straight after a tackle but ref brought it back for a pen and we saw other stupid advantage decisions where advantage was played-the ball instantly lost- and the ref didn't bring it back for the foul, ai scored a screamer own goal from the edge of their own box, reaction times are so slow-you hit a button and the player takes so long to respond it doesn't even feel like you're in control of the game, passing is off-sometimes it's fine and then randomly it will just pass way off either to the wrong person or just boot it out of play, player got injured in pro clubs and it kept telling us to sub him when there are no subs! So we got disqualified... some of the physics are really stupid- it's like the chuckle brothers on the pitch with players falling over themselves, when the ball goes out of play the player that retrieves the ball is no longer the player that's taking the throw so it's confusing when the screen changes, when people shoot now the camera does this weird power up arcade style zoom in that feels so cheesy and takes you out of the realism, even starting the game was a UX nightmare that made no sense, I can't believe you still can't import your pro face from the previous FIFA, keepers still boot the ball out of play when you pull them out and when they have all the time to pick a pass. All EA care about is looting children on ultimate team instead of making actual decent improvements to the game..Worst football game I've ever played.
Stranger Things (2016)
Almost perfect
The first season actually was perfect. Blending nostalgia, suspence, romance, humour and horror perfectly to create an instant classic and earning a huge fan base along the way. The characters were brilliant and complex, and all of them had their flaws. Unfortunately as the series as gone on, more and more cliche characters have been introduced and too many are the simply for comedic value. Reactions and lines of dialogue feel cheesy and forced for a quick laugh but few of the jokes actually work. Some of the characters have even become caracatures of their past selves, rather than growing in line with the the horrors they've witnessed. It's still very watchable but unfortunately not without cringing multiple times per episode...
Shichinin no samurai (1954)
bit boring but still a great film for its time...
Although the film isn't edge of you seat stuff it is definitely the best film of its time. Much of the humour i found unfunny and the action is minimal, but saying this the storyline is great and the cinematography also very nice.
This is the oldest film I've ever seen and i still sat and watched all of it. I'm only 17 but can still say i did enjoy it and some of the scenes i found very captivating. Saying that if all the people involved with that film where around now, at the same ages when they made this film imagine ho good it would be.
Although it is a very good movie (for its time!) i still don't think it should be 5th best movie of all time.
