The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023)
Disappointing
I had very high hopes for this film. The book was great, but the movie was horrible. Only Tom Blyth does a good job acting in this film, the rest of the cast... not so much. Rachel Ziegler just isn't a great actress, granted she is a very talented singer and has a great voice, which is put on display in this movie. However, she just isn't a great actress. The film has the worst cast I have ever seen for a spin off of such a successful original series. I put blame on the casting director for that. The movie also came in a bit longer than most of the other movies and kind of felt a little dragged out. Overall, I'm very disappointed.
Oppenheimer (2023)
Unbelievable
It's by far Christopher Nolan's best work and easily the best movie released in the last 10 years. It is a little bit long coming in at 3 hours and 9 minutes, but it's worth it.
It's a star studded cast that actually delivers, unlike some of the ones in the past with that many superstars in one movie. Cillian Murphy delivers an Oscar worthy performance. Robert Downing, Jr., despite playing to roll of a horrible person, gives his best acting performance to date. The fact that Florence Pugh is only in like 8 scenes just shows the star power this movie has.
Overall, it is a masterpiece and a must see.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
Helena Shaw sucks
Helena Shaw, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is the worst character in the Indiana Jones franchise. She is on screen way too much and it doesn't feel like Indiana Jones is the main character in the film, but rather she is. It's typical Disney.... they are setting up a female led spinoff that will bomb in the box office. They have yet to learn from their past mistakes.
The film is also very lazily done. The kid in this movie is a copy and paste of the the Asian kid in Temple of Doom, without the humor.
Overall, this film is a terrible way to end this franchise and send off Harrison Ford. Very disappointing.
