Best. Christmas. Ever! (2023)
Worst. Movie. Ever!
It's difficult to imagine there being a worse movie out there. It was entirely incoherent and ridiculous.
I gave it a 2 because it was so bad it was actually laughable. It made us laugh out loud, albeit at it and not with it.
I concur with others who say Chat GPT must have written it.
The highlight of the movie was hearing Brandi sing Christmas carols and I can't help but wonder why they didn't lean more into that. This movie could have revolved entirely around her singing and it would have been so much better.
I couldn't help but recall the end of the movie Billy Madison with the line about everyone in here being dumber for having heard Billy's nonsensical response to a question. That is exactly what I feel after this movie.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Too violent
I wanted to give this a higher score because I have heard it has been review bombed. But the gratuitous violence in the third episode was absolutely unnecessary and not coherent with how the lord of the rings has traditionally been for children and young adults. This was a total turn-off and disappointment. Peter Jackson would be disappointed about this. He always kept his movies with just the right amount of violence without ever going overboard. I cannot understand why the current producers felt the need to put graphic gore and violence into this version. Very disappointed. I suppose they have gone the way of stranger things as well.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Why the bad reviews, I loved it!
I'm rather shocked to see so many bad reviews. I loved it. An entertaining show with a beautiful message. Showing mercy takes great strength and love.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
A lot of fun
As a stand alone movie, I could see people might have a hard time following the plot. But if you have seen all the other movies, especially the original Jurassic Park, this movie is just plain nostalgic fun! It's entertaining and just plain fun!!!
Beyond the Edge (2022)
I don't understand the bad reviews
This show has heart and it is entertaining. The fact that people have given this show a low rating sadly confirms that so many people actually prefer watching ugly competition, drama, and violence rather than see the beautiful side of humanity.
In a time where our country and the world are so divided and full of hatred, these nine people from all different backgrounds came together to become a beautiful family, authentic and loving. I loved getting to see the human side to all of them and have become a huge admirer of all of them!
Also, I have spent time in Bocas del Toro, and it is an extremely harsh environment. I have mad respect for these people!
Desperados (2020)
Very fun chick flick
I was surprised to see so many bad reviews. This movie had me laughing out loud numerous times and the characters were real and endearing. I don't think men will relate, but I think women in their 30s and up will really enjoy this movie. Good fun.
Merry Happy Whatever (2019)
Sweet family fun
It's fun, light, and heartwarming. The perfect thing for the holiday season.
Stranger Things (2016)
LOVED season 1, liked season 2, was very disappointed by season 3
Season 1 was amazing. It was innovative, novel, entertaining, perfect. Season 2 went downhill for me, but I still liked it. Season 3 is an absolute mess. I don't think anything makes sense, and in my opinion, it tried to compensate for its lack of an actual plot with just throwing in a ton of violence that had not been in the previous seasons, and a ton of cliches, throwbacks to the 80s (which I did appreciate being an 80s child myself, but it's not enough to save the season). After being left wanting more after seasons 1 and 2, I found myself hoping during the ending credits of season 3 that they would just end the whole thing and not show any additional footage of a potential story of season 4, but, alas, they did. Here's to hoping they can get season 4 back to where the show was in season 1. Let's end on a good note.
The Village (2019)
A bit cheesy but good
I think because the show tries to tell too many storylines, it takes a bit to get involved in the stories or characters, but once you do, there are a lot of good and touching stories being told. At times it's so unrealistic it's borderline cheesy, but it you just get past that, I think it's a good and very entertaining show. I don't want to see it canceled so soon.....
Black·ish (2014)
Heartwarming, hilarious show
I truly don't understand the bad reviews of this show. I have loved it since Season 1. It is funny and it deals with so many issues that are relevant today, not just about race, but about everyday family and life issues. To be fair, I think the show lost its way a tiny bit in Season 4 and there were many episodes that were more sad than funny due to the topics they chose to touch on, but Season 5 has got them back on track. I think it is by far one of the best shows today.
Yellowstone: The Unravelling: Part 1 (2018)
Too violent
First of all, I love this show. I would give almost every other episode a 10. I love the cast, the acting, the cinematography. But, this episode was just too violent. Please don't go the way of other shows like Westworld or Game of Thrones that make it all about the gratuitous violence. I am most likely the minority, but the added gore ruins the show for me rather than making it better. I just don't think this show needs all of the blood to capture viewers. It has so much going for it without it. Other than this episode, I love this show!
Unsolved (2018)
Excellent show
I really didn't know what to expect before watching, but I have completely gotten sucked into the incredible story line and the tremendous acting. I highly recommend this series.
Grown·ish (2018)
Gets better with every episode
I am a huge fan of Black-ish, which is what led me to give this show a chance. The first episode doesn't do it justice; you really need to hang in there a bit to start to care about the characters. This isn't a family show the way Black-ish is, but it deals with a lot of important issues dealt with in college and young adult life. I think it's wonderful there is a strong, real young woman who is the lead. She's not perfect, but why does she have to be? No one in life is perfect, and I appreciate the show making the lead character very relatable to young women dealing with a lot of the same issues.
