Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (2021)
Bonkers. A complete waste of time. One of the characters is a tampon!!
Ok, I know everything is going woke, but seriously, one of the characters is a tampon. Tampon. The nonsensical, never ending stream of useless dialogue, wears you out very quickly. Silly little movie. Just plodding through this erratic film scene after scene.....what is the purpose? So you have a a tampon as a character? Was going to show this to my little neighbour because I thought the concept would be cute, but this would hold a child's attention for a nano second, which is just short of how long it could hold 4 adults' attention. We were struggling. Babble, babble and more silly babble. Little ugly shells all bouncing around, hoarding stuff from people and this, I think was supposed to be their "cute" little world.
After Yang (2021)
Could not have been more boring if they tried.
I made it to the end hoping something, anything, would come out of this film. I was bored to tears! Farrell is wasted in this whole spectacle. He is limp, pale, whispering and sissy. Not the kind of Farrell we want! And I won't even go there about how "woke" this stupid family was. So woke that one of the "kids" is a robot. Seriously? I was supposed to feel something there. Oh yeah. It was boredom.
Our Ladies (2019)
A vulgar bunch of losers
A vulgar bunch of losers let loose in such a beautiful land. I'm from Glasgow and I wanted to really like this but other than gorgeous scenery and nostaglia seeing places I know, I was severley embarrassed by the trash talk and even trashier behaviour. Gross. A manky bunch of sk..ks. Scotland can produce quality entertainment and amazing programmes. We don't have to settle for this.
30 Monedas (2020)
The intro alone had me hooked......
Watching the show mainly because this intro was so spectacular and shattering. My blood ran cold and I was almost traumatized by it. OK, that was being dramatic, but anyone who sees this intro will know what I am talking about. Sheer excellence. Father Badass is awesome. Insect people not so much but the actual show is funny and also diabolical.
The Flight Attendant (2020)
Alcoholic air stewardess. Say no more, but.....
Dashing around frantically, making "jokes" at rapid fire speed, slamming back drinks at a rate that would kill a person.....just silly and too chaotic. I give up.
Perry Mason (2020)
This is NOT Perry Mason
This is complete rubbish. This is a guy called "Perry Mason" and that is where it ends. He is grubby, violent, wears a wife beater or a shabby dirty suit. The surroundings are dirty and run down. There is of course excessive violence and explicit sex which would keep a certain crowd amused. But the whole show is just seedy, tacky and lowbrow. No fancy suits or iconic cars in this show! Nope, this is beer drinking Slobsville.
Nichinichi kore kôjitsu (2018)
So beautiful. Deep with meaning, emotions and life lessons.
This was so relaxing, peaceful a graceful, yet carried some strong messages. Beautifully executed and directed. I will probably watch this again. Maybe even more than once more.
8 Tage (2019)
Quite realistic and moving too.
Certainly a lovely and moving scene when that gorgeous man removes his clothes and lies in his lover's bed. Wow! The emotion in that scene. Well done. Great range of characters in this film. Really, the best and worst of human kind and society. Corrupt government of politicians with self serving interests, of course and what else would you expect. All that taxpayer money to be used on themselves rather than the people. Smart people who are born leaders and survivors whether you like them or not. People who will always believe the "party line" and lockstep their way into disaster rather than think and fend for themselves. Fascinating series that is completely enjoyable.
Servant (2019)
Every emotion is brought out by this show.
Just watched Ep. 9 and I am so saddened and horrified. Horrible. Each episode has given you just a tiny scrap as the whole snapshot is slowly formed until the big picture is revealed to you. It is a story that captivates you then shakes you up. I was left feeling devastated by Ep. 9 and could just bash that babysitter on the head for being so dim at not understanding. But there is something very strange and creepy about her and how she can "animate" a doll or a dead dog, etc. I so hope that Ep. 10 gives some closures and I am hoping very strongly that there will be a second season. MUST find out all the truths that are seeping out, one episode at a time. Fantastic! I feel sorry for all of you that lacked the patience to hang in there for the rest of the story.
Can You Keep a Secret? (2019)
Seriously, who behaves this way?
Tyler - gorgeous as ever but the actress was just too way over the top. Complete rubbish movie, unrealistic, annoying and super irritating. What man in his right mind would be interested or take on a girlfriend so messed up as this? You'd have to want to be on meds just to cope. Absolutely stupid.
Ben-Hur (2016)
Gorgeous, gripping and nerve wracking......
"I saw this in 3D and besides feeling like you are actually there, the story moves along with very little time to catch your breath.
Absolutely beautiful scenes, gripping and nerve jarring action, 3D you feel you could touch and superb action. The Circus Maximus was relentless, and the lovely decor and heavy action, well no wonder this was the place to go back in the day. I feel this was an authentic portrayal and re-enactment.
If you are waiting for religious elements, they were dealt with lightly and respectfully.
The actors were well suited to each other. It wasn't just all sand and sandals. Really must see!
