Significant Other (2022)
Really it's between 6.8-7.3
This was a crazy movie and the special effects and imagination deserve a lot of credit. It caught me by surprise multiple times and went in direction I couldn't even dream of. This movie is unique and funky and disheveled and glib and spotty and cool and fun...go on the ride. I can imagine some people don't actually watch the whole thing or they are a acting snobs...the relationship is believable, it really is cause I've been in one with this level of connection. And they're both good actors...especially her...the cave scene made me jump crazy and the fact that it was deeper than I imagined made this one a total trip!
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
If GOP keeps winning
This is pretty much what will happen...to realize how easily led these people are, is to understand maga and these ignorant phenomenons that seems like a terrible movie. Fast forward and you've got this show.
The show is solid, scary, tense, and keeps you truly guessing what could happen next. Moss doesn't steal the show she is the entire show.
I'm just in the first season and it's riveting to be honest. The fact that this could happen and the fact that our freedom is so fragile us a bit unnerving. Switching back and forth in timeline fashion adds a lot to the show.
The present is sad and the past shows a lot about how we "got here"
Them (2021)
Beautiful black, deep scary...very good!
It's a wonderful show, actually. The racism is cringeworthy, and it should be. The scares are real, and the pain is palpable. Worth watching...just not at 3am alone like I am right now.
Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell (2021)
New stuff? Not really. Good stuff? Hell ya
The interviews are great and you realize he is still the goat after all these years. That era was gritty and angry and honest and it was refreshing. Rap now is very commercialized in general...kinda made me realize how much rap helped form who I am today...the confidence rubbed off and of that I'm grateful. Honestly this is more than worth a watch....the interviews and backstory is pretty illuminating
Don't Let Go (2019)
Just tough to care after a minute
It just didn't grab you even though it's not bad...cool story actually of you like sci fi. Not sure but a six sounds right
The Young Pope (2016)
Utterly beautiful
Not sure how else to describe but it had be on the brink of tears multiple times. Depth is there and allows you to fill in that depth with a humanness that seems other worldly...it touches something we all know to be the truth...and I don't mean god necessarily. Watch it...
Dickinson (2019)
Really really really
Love this show. Honesty the best comedy in a while. Silly but respects and reflects her poems with dignity. She would be proud to be such a part of pop culture. Thanks!
Knightfall (2017)
Probably an eight really
But so much hate that ten is appropriate.
I think the acting is solid, great Templar outfits!
You'll like it!
Teenage Bounty Hunters (2020)
Funnnn and sexy and just engaging
Seriously was so bored tonight and since I started watching this I have a smile on my face....these girls are good actresses in their own right...but when you throw this silly premise together with dope music and making fun of religion....you have a frigging winner!!!
Tales from the Loop (2020)
I just think it's beautiful
Heartfelt series. It transcends our everyday life to outline the beauty of secrets while showing the possibility of technology to create more complex issues. Sci fi as a vehicle to lay bare our lost personal feelings as a human. I just thought it was beautiful.
Tales from the Loop: Stasis (2020)
Beautiful one
She's beautiful he's beautiful, the human frailty is beautiful. The sci fi is too notch. Love this one!
Tales from the Loop: Control (2020)
Love the show this episode was rough
Was slow, but more than that I'm not sure what suspense there was. Felt like a filler episode even though I love all the actors etc. have to see how following episodes go...I think it will bounce back. That said, really like this show overall. Hits you with some brain twisters....it's emotional...uncomfortable....and beautiful....deep and raw...and some great sci fi... :)
Cloud Atlas (2012)
Quite unique even years later
I enjoyed it and it didn't feel too long at all. A lot of truths here and my favorite is, "what is an oven but a multitude of drops?" When told he was going to just be a drop in the bucket.
Undone (2019)
Just absolutely love it
It was funny and cute and at the same time deep and thought provoking...somehow we just know that in recesses of our mind the constructs that organize life information like time and space are just that, constructs. That said, it's worth a watch whether you want to go down the rabbit hole or just slightly run around it while watching a great show.
Black Mirror: Smithereens (2019)
The sniper could just MOVE!!!
I just can't believe the sniper. The show is cool etc etc...but "I can't get a shot is so dumb when you set up in the only position you can't get a shot. Ruined it for me. Ahhhhhh
Black Mirror: Striking Vipers (2019)
Dope fun pushes the envelope
Don't listen to the haters, this isn't at unrealistic....VR is real...and now all they added was attraction within in....so let's get serious.
I Am Mother (2019)
Date is 6/8 & real reviewer and impressive sci fi
Look, if you like sci fi then this will be a good watch. When I read negative reviews of many movies I'm left confused on just what people are looking for. I'd really watch this before making any conclusions. I really enjoyed it, and I thought the acting was too notch...the robot may have been the best actress in the movie....loved the whole thing
Chambers (2019)
This s%#} has gone off the rails
I'm still curious what happened but I'm increasingly doubtful that I'll find anything out that makes a lick of sense. That said it's entertaining and constantly changing works of nuttiness. I like it and hate it and am gonna finish it
Native Son (2019)
Welllll worth your time
Quality acting, especially by our lead. The story alone garners it 5 stars...while the acting and directing does the rest. I enjoyed it and was hurt by it, while also being pulled on what character to route for...
Lykke-Per (2018)
Superb acting, organic flow
Just really enjoyed the movie. It has a raw depth to it that was reminiscent of my own childhood...the conflicted nature of strained relationships with your own upbringing. It was scored beautifully, acted flawlessly. The story was long and pretty....and some subtlety
Await Further Instructions (2018)
10 to even out idiot 1s and 2s
His movie should be a 6. It's definitely worth a watch if you like sci fi. It was cool and kept you guessing. The family drama is kind of funny and the grandpa says the C word...so there's also that. Just dorky fun
Black Earth Rising (2018)
This is not ADD background fodder
If you watch this film you appreciate the acting that is emotional but realistic...I can relate to the characters on the day to day life situations such as family and also on the moral implications of "taking sides" in regards to the atrocities from the African continent.
If you're looking for a good story that is intelligently unfolding...this is for you.
Polar (2019)
Fun as hell. Meta score is nonsense.
Its diffferent man, that's all. It's not like most movies and it's not trying to be. Imaginative, story is sweet, acting solid. I could watch it again and again actually. It's unpredictable table and of course main actor is one bad dude. Watch!
Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes (2019)
Very well done. I didn't know so much
They just really did a great job with the timeline and the interviews and showing the, entertaining, unexplainable, and manipulative man.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: Because You Left (2017)
Just amazing
The 1 rating is by someone quite slow...just watch and don't look at Instagram while you do!
