Ted Lasso (2020)
Ned Flanders Coaches Soccer in England
If you remove the religiosity from Ned Flanders, you get Ted Lasso, and you send him to coach Englanders in a game he knows nothing about, and you get one of the most awesome shows of 2020.
This is an amazingly refreshing show, so positive and so warm, portraying kindness and empathy in an incredibly realistic fashion. In a world of almost unrelenting darkness, reflected in most modern shows, Ted Lasso is a beacon of hope, a depiction of the strength one kind person can have on those around them.
Awesome acting across the board, phenomenal, witty and remarkable writing, an intriguing backstory, which I can't wait to see how it unfolds, colorful and lovable characters, with a litany of flaws you can't help but relate to. It is really, really, really good.
Highly, highly recommend. Trust me, we all need a lil Ted Lasso in our lives.
BoJack Horseman (2014)
By far one of the best shows of our generation
I can't believe its over, because, and I cannot stress this enough, this was one of the best shows of the modern 20s.
The story was brilliant, the animation phenomenally intricate, the voice acting was exemplary. And it was funny as hell, all the way through.
Truly an ingenious portrayal of the arc of depression, I cannot recommend it enough.
Paradise PD (2018)
Just like Brickleberry and its great
I used to love Brickleberry, and this show is very, very similar, just instead of a national park its a police department, and by Golly, I am a big fan of heavily offensive shows. But alas Brickleberry got canceled only after 3 seasons, which seems to be the cutoff age for such shows (see Drawn Together...)
Sooo, my fear is this show, being equally offensive, will again not last for very long, even though its on Netflix, who aren't as concerned with the outrage of snowflakes as TV stations.
But other than that, its a pretty fun show - offensive, hella funny, so I wholeheartedly recommend it.
