Legend of the Seeker (2008)
Utter Crap
OK I could not stand this TV show I was yelling at the screen most of the time due to everything they got wrong or just felt out of place. No when I heard they had gone to Sam Raimi and he was gonna make a lot of changes I figured we would see stuff never in the book etc. But I didn't figure that he would change the core storyline. Hello boxes of Orden anyone how the heck will the show reach any conclusion that is even similar to the books. I seriously doubt we will even see Jagang in this series. The way it seems to be going is that it's Wizard's First Rule with some of Stone of Tears adapted into a TV series and they are basing everything of this source Material. This story has no room for Jagang and the Imperial Order at all. If they were only gonna loosely base the show on the books then they should have changed names and more because Legend of the Seeker is really not based on the books. About the only thing that they have in common are some names and the powers of the confessors.
Lord of the Rings is the perfect example of a book translated well. You keep all of the important elements and change some things to make a better story not alter everything. Ugh I smell axing in the near future.
Blade: The Series: Pilot (2006)
Not a Bad Star but not a great one Either
Well I gotta say this serious overall doesn't seem to be a bad series but it definitely needs a lot of work. The series is set in the continuity established by the first 3 blade movies and already in the first episode we see some continuity breaks. For example Blade's partner Chen says he can't cure Krysta when people have been cured twice already in the films, Hannibal King and the Girl in the first film.
Sticky Fingaz is definitely the wrong choice for blade he seems like he's doing a Wesley Snipes Impression and definitely needs to spend all of this time not acting learning some Martial Arts. I just don't buy him as blade a side kick maybe but he's definitely not Blade.
Krista well she's not all that bad I just couldn't buy the fact that she's ex-military though and she was supposed to have gotten badly injured and sent home. She had no scars no seemed to good to be true in my opinion. I really hope they touch on her family's aspect of dealing with losing her and her brother they introduced them and I think there's some opportunity for great storytelling that we've never seen in the blade universe as of yet.
Overall I gotta say its not a bad start to the series but definitely not great and comes in as very mediocre if this series doesn't get a lot better and quick I highly doubt it will survive the first season. You know its bad when your thinking Buffy could wipe the floor with Blade. the last thing I'll say is. Blade movie version = Vampire Asskicker Blade TV as of right now = Sight down and drink beers because buffy is better at it than you are. I just hope I see a much stronger blade as the series develops.
Exosquad (1993)
Awesome
All I gotta say is that its one of the best animation shows to ever come out in the U.S. It's a shame that is television treatment got it cancelled before the 3 season and the spin-off were able to be created Oh well its great and I wish someone would release a DVD of it. Currently the only way to find the show is by searching everywhere for it. Overall the continuing storyline and the actual humanity of these characters is what made the show really great. Its to bad it was never fully finished but they did at least finish the main story arc which is the story of the war between the humans and the Neo Sapiens. The third arc was gonna force the two to band together against a new alien threat but there was only 1 episode shot so the series does end on a slight cliffhanger but its worth watching so if you can get it I highly recommend it.
