“I wasn’t competing for my life,” says Grammy-nominated singer Ruben Studdard when comparing his recent appearance on “The Masked Singer” to winning “American Idol” in 2003. “The stakes were much higher for me on ‘American Idol’ than they will ever be on ‘The Masked Singer.’ I wanted to win, but it’s just completely different.” Studdard competed on the Fox reality TV competition with his pal Clay Aiken as Beets, who adds, “‘The Masked Singer’ pays so much better.” Watch their exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior editor Denton Davidson above.
The duo lost the Group B finals to Gumball, and were sent home after belting out “One Moment in Time” by Whitney Houston. “I am not competitive at all,” Clay admits when asked if he was upset. “I have gotten so good at losing shows that if I had won I would probably be more upset because it would ruin my reputation.

“It’s always fun as an actor coming out as an alter identity where you’re fully immersed in it,” says Corey Feldman, who was unmasked as Seal on “The Masked Singer” Thursday night. “You get to actually play into the character. The great banter that was improvised on the stage was all improvised. It’s not like you know what you’re gonna say or what they’re going to say. It keeps you on your fins. It was a lot of fun!” Watch his exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior editor Denton Davidson above.
Feldman reveals the most difficult part of the process for him was watching the songs other people got to do. “Why didn’t I get to do ‘Billy Joel Night’?!” he exclaims. “I would have crushed ‘Billy Joel Night!’ If I could have done ‘The Stranger’ instead of ‘It’s Tricky” I think...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 11, Episode 9 of “The Masked Singer,” “Group B Finals: Soundtrack of My Life Night,” which aired May 1 on Fox.
For years, the panelists on “The Masked Singer” have thrown out names like Corey Feldman, Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken while trying to figure out what celebrities were disguised on stage. This week, those names finally became true.
“The Masked Singer” revealed the latest celebrities to be revealed on Wednesday night’s Group B finale, and it was Feldman as the Seal and Studdard/Aiken together as the Beets.
“For about 25 years, there was this kind of dark age where nobody really wanted to admit that my music was a real thing or that it existed or that I was doing it on a full capacity,” Feldman told Variety. “It was kind of overlooked and ignored for a long time.

Kiefer Sutherland has denied the rumor started on social media that he picked on Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O’Connell on the set of Stand By Me.
The Talk cohost Natalie Morales asked Sutherland about the gossip, which allegedly was used to keep in character while off-camera.
“Absolutely not true,” Sutherland said. “First of all, I’m not that kind of actor and I wouldn’t want to be that kind of person. I spent a lot of time with River Phoenix because we both played guitar, and so that was kind of an in to him. Even though I was seven years older, we were both beginning, right. And so there was a lot of discussion about ‘How do you develop a character’, ‘What is your process.’

Wil Wheaton landed his first professional acting gig in 1981, appearing in the TV movie "A Long Way Home." He was nine years old. Wheaton was impressive enough to become one of Hollywood's more in-demand child actors, and the next five years of his life were immensely busy. He appeared in films like "The Defiant Ones" and "The Last Starfighter," and TV shows like "Highway to Heaven," "Family Ties," and "St. Elsewhere." It was nothing but an upward arc for the young performer.
Wheaton's first leading role came in 1986 with the release of Rob Reiner's 1950s nostalgia piece "Stand By Me," an adaptation of the Stephen King novella "The Body." In "Stand By Me," Wheaton played 12-year-old Gordie Lachance, a kid smarting from the recent death of his older brother and the familial resentment it caused. Get your chocolate starfish ready: 7-Eleven is rollin’ out a new hot dog flavored sparkling water beverage. Apparently there’s no affiliation with nu-metal pioneers Limp Bizkit, who famously released the multiplatinum 2000 album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.
“7-Select Big Bite Hot Dog Sparkling Water” is launching as part of a new line of sparkling beverages created in collaboration with art-inspired brand Miracle Seltzer. Other flavors include Lemon Lime, Green Apple, Sweet Orange, but it’s the Big Bite Hot Dog flavor — inspired by 7-Eleven’s famous roller dog — that has our inner nu-metal kid salivating.

The idea that the world of kids’ television has a publicly friendly veneer that masks a dark underbelly is not remotely new. Child actors throughout the history of film and TV have both displayed immense and undeniable talent on screen, and then quickly devolved through addictions in the real world; examples range from Corey Feldman to Lindsay Lohan, with many others wedged in between. Films like Magnolia and Death to Smoochy go out of their way to satirize and sometimes vilify programming that feels exploitative to children by using them on screen.

Richard Donner's 1985 adventure film "The Goonies" has a passionate following of young men who fell in love with it at an early age. Like Steven Spielberg's "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," "The Goonies" was exceptionally adept at depicting 11-year-old boys as crass, sloppy, clumsy imps. Unlike the mini-adults one might encounter in most family movies, the kids in "The Goonies" talked over each other, cussed openly, made gross jokes, and were unabashedly mean to one another. The main characters of "The Goonies" may be friends, but they would rather rag on each other, bicker, scream, and pull cruel pranks than admit camaraderie. Some find these kinds of characters to be refreshingly authentic.
The casual cruelty of the Goonies is on most brazen display near the start of the film. Several young boys are gathering together at a suburban home — one they'll have to move away from soon — for fun times and casual play.

Ah, the 1990s. Perhaps the peak of the moviegoing experience. Theaters consistently showed classics such as the special effects marvel "Jurassic Park," "The Shawshank Redemption," "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," "Pulp Fiction," "Fargo," and "Titanic." The decade also featured an abundance of outstanding horror films like "The Sixth Sense," "Scream," "Misery," and "Interview with the Vampire," all boasting big-name stars and top-tier directors.
However, playing at the opposite end of the cineplex were thrillers you may have never heard about or skipped simply due to bad reviews or scathing word of mouth. Some of Hollywood's top talent attached themselves to such projects, thwarted by ornery critics or moviegoers seeking higher-end entertainment. That's a shame.
While there are undoubtedly plenty of terrible horror films from the 90s, the decade was also ripe with lower-tier entries that have aged surprisingly well. Many don't reset the bar established by esteemed pictures like "The Silence of the Lambs,...

Hey you guuyyysssss. When Josh Brolin was cast as older Walsh brother Brandon in 1988’s The Goonies, he had the role of being one of the more mature central cast members. But that doesn’t mean he had it all figured out. After all, it was his debut film, so he could afford as many pointers from the more seasoned people on set…including Steven Spielberg, who had to bring the up-and-comer down a few notches during filming.
Speaking with GQ, Josh Brolin remembered that Steven Spielberg gave him some sound advice during the making of The Goonies. Spielberg may not have been the director – those duties fell on Richard Donner – but he did have story credit and was frequently on hand. “It was a really innocent and a really fun time, and I thought that’s how movies were done and they weren’t. What exactly is a legacy sequel? According to the internet, it is “a work that follows the continuity of the original work(s), but takes place further along the timeline, often focusing on new characters with the original ones still present in the plot.” And boy have they gotten popular. From The Exorcist: Believer to Halloween 2018 to even Netflix’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre, they’ve been churning out steadily. Hell, we got a freaking Mutilator 2 out of it (and who would have ever expected that?). And it’s hard not to wonder why we’re getting so many.
Originality can be a hard thing for financiers to gamble on. This is why we find ourselves amid trend after trend that takes over movie theaters until the general public is sick of it. As soon as something hits, they go after it like rabid dogs till there’s nothing...

The mask and collectible makers at Trick or Treat Studios have given sneak previews of many of the new masks that will be part of their 2024 product line-up, including revivals of Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees masks from the ’80s and ’90s and masks of Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patric’s characters David and Michael from Joel Schumacher’s 1987 vampire classic The Lost Boys (watch it Here)! An image of these masks can be seen at the bottom of this article.
Scripted by Janice Fischer, Jeffrey Boam, and James Jeremias, The Lost Boys has the following synopsis: Teenage brothers Michael and Sam move with their mother to a small town in northern California. While the younger Sam meets a pair of kindred spirits in geeky comic-book nerds Edward and Alan, the angst-ridden Michael soon falls for Star — who turns out to be in thrall to David, leader of a local gang of vampires.

Stephen King is inarguably one of the most adapted authors in the world. The reigning overlord of the horror genre has seen his work translated to film and TV almost continually since his first novel, Carrie, was adapted in 1976. While he’s had his ups and downs in terms of success in those venues, it’s almost a certainty that the King adaptations will continue as the author himself keeps working well into his sixth decade as a published writer.
Naturally, most of the adaptations of King’s work focus on his horror or horror-adjacent output: just about everything from 1,000-page behemoths like the post-apocalyptic The Stand to 10-page short stories like the single-setting monster tale “The Boogeyman” have found their way to the screen. But while filmmakers and creators gravitate toward the King material that they think will scare audiences – after all, that’s his brand – some of the...

The Lost Boys was released in an era before vampire movies were once again in vogue; while it wasn’t a huge box office hit, it did serve to reignite interest in the genre, paving the way for many of the vampire films that followed. The film, directed by Joel Schumacher, was highly acclaimed for its casting, as it assembled an all-star team of 1987’s top young talent, including Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Jami Gertz, Alex Winter, and Kiefer Sutherland. With the film now recognized as a cult classic, Speaking at a Steel City Con panel, Sutherland said he knew it was an interesting movie, but had no idea that it would have such staying power. Kiefer Sutherland is recalling a sweet anecdote from the set of Stand by Me and remembering his late co-star River Phoenix.
The 24 actor is looking back at his time while filming the Rob Reiner coming-of-age drama movie and shared a heartwarming story about Phoenix that also came to possibly influence the title of the film.
“We were making Stand by Me, which was a Stephen King short story called The Body, and River Phoenix was learning guitar and playing guitar and he was actually very, very good. And he was getting really good at a very, very fast rate,” Sutherland said during an interview on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. “And I was playing Stand by Me and singing that song, and he said, ‘Oh, I love the melody of that song,’ and he hadn’t heard it before.”
Sutherland continued, “So I was teaching it to him and...

Bloody Disgusting’s 12 Days of Creepmas is nearly at an end, so it’s time to bring out the big guns in holiday horror. The 2nd Day of Creepmas brings a pair of gateway horror-comedies that will keep you busy from Christmas through New Year’s Eve.
When it comes to holiday horror, few can beat Joe Dante’s Gremlins. The charming 1984 classic decks the halls with holiday theming but it’s also unafraid to show its sharp pointy teeth. Dante’s sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, takes a drastically different direction, but its high energy and anything goes attitude make a strong case for annual New Year’s viewing.
The 12 Days of Creepmas continues on Bloody Disgusting, this time with 2 Gremlins movies to keep your holidays going through the New Year.

Actor Patrick Wilson is on board to produce a stage musical version of 80s cult film The Lost Boys. More details here:
If all you’ve ever wanted was a musical about some very attractive vampires, you’re in luck. Joel Schumacher’s 1987 cult film The Lost Boys is heading to the stage, with added songs!
Aquaman star Patrick Wilson will be producing alongside James Carpinello and Marcus Chait, as reported by Deadline. Wilson took a stab at directing this year, helming the fourth Insidious sequel, Insidious: The Red Door. While also reprising his role as Josh Lambert in the long-running horror franchise, Wilson also teamed up with Ghost to deliver a cover of the song “Stay” which played over the end credits.
The original The Lost Boys, which also spawned two sequels, followed brothers who moved to a new town, just to find out it’s the prime spot for some vampires.

Patrick Wilson is no stranger to the horror genre, having starred in the likes of three Conjuring movies and three Insidious movies (one of which he directed), among other things – but I never would have predicted that his name would be attached to a stage musical adaptation of Joel Schumacher’s 1987 vampire classic The Lost Boys (watch it Here). Especially not as a producer. But producing a The Lost Boys stage musical is exactly what Wilson is doing, according to Deadline.

The episode of Best Horror Movie You Never Saw covering Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys was Written by Cody Hamman, Edited by Paul Bookstaber, Narrated by Kier Gomes, Produced by John Fallon and Tyler Nichols, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Need a horror movie to watch on Christmas? There are plenty to choose from. The classic slashers Black Christmas and Silent Night, Deadly Night. The thrills of P2. The brutality of the French film Inside. The insanity of Gremlins. But how about a movie where the lives of millions of children hang in the balance? Where a demonic force wants to unleash tiny terrors on the world… and they can only be stopped by a group of tiny heroes. We’re talking about Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys (watch it Here) – and if you haven’t added this one to your Christmas viewing rotation, it’s the Best Horror Movie You Never Saw.

If you ever thought to yourself, What would it be like if Limp Bizkit and Corey Feldman went on tour together?, then you might belong in Loserville. No, we’re not taking jabs at you (but come on…) – that’s the name of the tour. Fred Durst and the most limp of bizkits will be hitting the road next year for the Loserville Tour, their first in the U.S. since 2022’s Still Sucks shows.
The Loserville tour will see Limp Bizkit and company hitting all of your favorite U.S. cities, like Somerset, Wi, Holmdel, NJ and Pelham, Al. All right, so Limp Bizkit is an easy target, but they’ll still be landing in Toronto, Charlotte, Houston, and some other metropolitans over the course of their 24-city tour. Unfortunately for hometown devotees, they won’t be making it to Jacksonville, Fl, instead taking the stage in Tampa about three hours away.

There aren't many directors quite like Rob Reiner, who has helmed a considerable number of beloved classics from across a variety of genres. His directorial debut was "This is Spinal Tap," a mockumentary considered by many to be one of the best ever made. "The Princess Bride" is a comedic fantasy romance that has been quoted for generations, while "When Harry Met Sally" has become a cultural phenomenon. There are serious films like "Misery" or "A Few Good Men," and his latest feature is "Albert Brooks: Defending My Life," a hilarious documentary about the life and career of one of America's greatest performers. But then there's "Stand By Me," the coming-of-age classic based on Stephen King's "The Body."
"Stand By Me" follows a friend group of pre-teen boys who go on the adventure of a lifetime over Labor Day Weekend 1959 to find the potential dead body of a missing boy.

Singer and Lost Boys star Corey Feldman opened up about his new life as a rock star and performing for large crowds in his new uInterview.
Feldman explained to uInterview founder Erik Meers about how he is finishing up his Love ReTours tours this month, which began last year.
“It was a great successful tour, we kept adding legs because it was successful, and it kind of kept growing in its success and its numbers and whatever,” Feldman said. “We just kept kind of getting bigger and better venues and, you know, kind of building as we went.”
He recalled how he was shocked at how big of an audience had gathered for his performance at Riot Fest in Chicago recently.
“I’ve done shows bigger than that with my band Truth Movement,” he said. “We did a show on the Santa Cruz boardwalk one year where I was told they had 60,000 people.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 10, Episode 5 of “The Masked Singer,” “A Celebration of Elton John,” which aired Oct. 18 on Fox.
Elton John and Bernie Taupin wrote the track “Philadelphia Freedom” in 1975 at the behest of tennis icon Billie Jean King (whose team was the Philadelphia Freedoms). So, it was wildly appropriate that King performed the song on Wednesday during “A Celebration of Elton John” on Fox’s “The Masked Singer.”
King performed “Philadelphia Freedom” as the Royal Hen — and the fact that we know she was on the show means that, alas, she was also the next celebrity to be unmasked on “Singer.”
“A true trail blazer, she is famous for championing equal opportunities for all, and has made it her royal mission to be a voice for the voiceless,” a “Masked Singer” voiceover shared in giving the hints to whom the Royal Hen might be.

Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan joined the cast of Loki in season 2 as Ouroboros, a.k.a. Ob. Ob is the chief (and only) engineer of the Tva’s Repairs and Advancement department, where he’s spent 400 years alone keeping the Tva and its tech up and running. The season premiere, named “Ouroboros,” introduces the quirky character and gives Quan ample opportunity to build a rapport with series leads Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston. Whether you’re familiar with his career or a new fan that wants to know where else to watch him,...
