"The only part of you that will endure is your art – if you're good enough..." 1844 Ent. has revealed the official trailer for an indie psychological thriller called Painter, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Cory Wexler Grant. The film stars Betsy Randle as Joanne Marco, a wealthy art collector and benefactor. She discovers a young, unknown painter named Aldis Browne, and becomes obsessed with his success. When his first solo show is deemed a critical failure, he flees. But her obsession develops into a psychosexual relationship fueled by jealousy and delusion, and she lures him back. Co-starring Eric Ladin as Aldis, along with Casey Deidrick and Susan Anton. The cinematography in this is very sneaky, setting up additional eeriness in the composition. Along with the extra creepy, bombastic score in this trailer damn. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Cory Wexler Grant's Painter, direct from 1844's YouTube: Joanne Marco,...

Halloween is a month for the macabre, and you know what that means: I'm thinking about Winona Ryder's career. I still have the feathers in my mouth from her traumatizing Black Swan appearance. Shivers. Remember when Natalie Portman won an Oscar for playing a one-dimensional lunatic in what amounted to an overcooked, below-average Bjork video? I'm traumatized by that too.
But more importantly I'm thinking about Heathers, which I proclaim the definitive high school black comedy of all time -- so take that, uh, John Tucker Must Die! In retrospect, the unabashed kookiness of Ryder, Christian Slater, and the titular croquet-loving trio was sort of a slap in the face to the humdrum, half-snarling teens of John Hughes films. With Heathers came a refreshing burst of real cynicism. Smugness. Droopy anarchy. And not the kind that involves punching the air because you locked lips with Molly Ringwald in Saturday detention.

Birthday Shoutouts! Hugh Jackman (above) is 43, and the fabulous Susan Anton is 61. Susan most recently played Velma von Tussle in the all-star Hollywood Bowl production of Hairspray, but she's been an entertainer for forty years, and even had a hit song in the early 80's. Syfy has renewed Haven for a third season, and HBO has renewed Boardwalk Empire for another year. Speaking of Syfy, the Second Season of Being Human will premiere on January 16th, and the special holiday episodes of Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Haven will air on Dec. 6th. In ratings news, the truly terrible-looking Last Man Standing scored big (even with show killer co-star Nancy Travis, the female equivalent to Ted McGinley). Meanwhile, Ringer surprisingly rebounded, up 17% in the ratings. That uptick may have been what The CW needed to give it a full season order. HBO's Enlightened is off to a mediocre start, while Own's...

Well, this episode of 'Law & Order: Svu' is turning into a greatest hits of sexy women from years gone by. Actually, that's not quite accurate. Both of these women are still quite attractive. We already told you that former 'Charlie's Angels' star Jaclyn Smith will be appearing in an episode of the NBC drama on March 31. Now another famous star has been added to the episode.
Ann-Margret will appear in the same episode. TV Guide says that she'll play a woman who starred in commercials in the 1970s who gets involved in the case that Stabler and Benson are working on. Smith will play a detective involved in the same case. And if that's not enough beautiful TV women for you, what if we add Susan Anton and Morgan Fairchild to the mix? This episode is shaping up to be more 'Diagnosis: Murder' or 'Murder She Wrote' than 'Law & Order: Svu,...

While the announcement that Christopher Meloni is leaving Law & Order Svu after next season has clearly been the biggest piece of casting news facing this series, it's been shoved into the background recently due to a slew of guest-starring bookings.
For example: Sharon Stone will appear in four upcoming episodes as Assistant District Attorney Jo Marlowe, while Mischa Barton has signed on to play a prostitute.
We can also now confirm that veteran actresses Ann-Margret and former Jaclyn Smith will come on board the long-running series in the near future.
Executive producer Neal Baer tells TV Guide that Margret will portray "a star of commercials that were made in the '70s" and will be joined in the episode by Smith, who he adds will play "a retired cop who works with Benson and Stabler to solve an old crime."
Just call the episode "Charlie's Angels thirty years later," Baer joked.

What can I say about Sybil Danning that would be a surprise to anyone? Gorgeous, talented, fun to watch. In whatever project she appears, Danning is always completely committed. Watching her as I have over the years, I see not only chops, but a healthy sense of humor as well. I feel like she “gets it,” if that makes any sense. (And after this interview, I’m even more of a fan.) Courtesy of friend Fred Olen Ray, Danning joins all the vampire fun on The Lair in this third season.
Sean Abley: We’ve actually met very briefly—I moderated the Lair panel for the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in La months ago. I was incredibly intimidated by meeting you. You’re Sybil Danning! But you turned out to be very sweet, and even asked me if it went Ok afterwards. You’ve now worked with my friend Dylan Vox twice,...

Jennifer Aniston has a simple message when it comes to her on-again relationship with John Mayer: "People need to mind their own business," the actress tells Vogue in its December issue. Of course, Aniston, 39, understands why so many people are intrigued by their romance. There's the age difference – Mayer is eight years younger – and the musician's high-profile past relationships with starlets like Jessica Simpson. "Did you ever think Claudia Schiffer and David Copperfield made sense?" Aniston says, jokingly comparing her relationship to equally unexpected celebrity couples. "Did Susan Anton and Dudley Moore make sense? Wait! I got more!"When...

New York -- Several classic horror tales are getting a gay makeover courtesy of Regent Studios, its sister cable channel Here! Networks and cult director David DeCoteau.
The helmer has inked a two-year deal with Regent to direct 10 films and two television series through his Rapid Heart Pictures shingle.
The projects, some of which will be released theatrically by Regent in the fall, include Edgar Allan Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum" and adaptations of works by H.G. Wells and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. New features will also be made for "The Brotherhood" and "The Invisible Chronicles," two ongoing TV/DVD series.
All of the legendary tales in the slate will be refashioned to include gay themes, as was DeCoteau's recently released Poe adaptation "House of Usher." The only film confirmed for release this Fall is the "pansexual" film noir "Playing With Fire," starring Susan Anton and Michael Bergin.
DeCoteau has produced and/or directed more than 50 genre films over the past two decades, including "Leeches!" "Creepozoids" and "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama," after his start in the mid-'80s gay porn industry.
