Sunrise, Wyoming March 5 1861 Two men engage in a showdown and one is Dean (Jensen Ackles) in cowboy attire. The clock strikes high noon. The Supernatural opening is similar to Bonanza. 48 Hours earlier Sam (Jared Padalecki) searches the cellar for books etc for anything to help them with Eve. Bobby (Jim Beaver) mentions Phoenix and Dean asks, "Is that River, Joaquin or the flaming bird." "Ashes of the mother can burn the mother." "...killed a phoenix today and left a pile of flaming ash." That's from Samuel Colt's journal. Dean doesn't share the journal and he actually found what they needed too. So much for Sam being the geek, ha. "Star Trek IV the bitch," is Dean's suggestion. "Save the whales, go back in time and hunt the Phoenix." Obviously no one knows the plot of the film. Dean knows someone who can do it. Cas - "I dream...

Emmys: Why Daytime TV Still Matters (Q&A)
Daytime Emmy Award telecast producer Jim Romanovich tells THR he's "waiting" to see if Oprah will attend the June 19 ceremony.
"We're not going to change the format per se, but what we are going to do is enhance what we did last year. You're going to see bigger stars, both from daytime and from Las Vegas. I can tell you that Gladys Knight, Marie Osmond, Penn & Teller, the Blue Man Group and Cirque du Soleil will all be performing."
True Blood Turns Straight Character Gay… But Which One?
Perhaps no transformation in the show’s colorful history will come as quite as great a shock as the one that we find out about during the HBO hit’s ferociously anticipated fourth season, premiering June 26: A major character, heretofore heterosexual, will be involved in a same-sex romance.

A woman is found in the lift (elevator) shaft with an axe through her head after the lift crashes to a halt and blood drips onto the occupant inside. Tripp (Rex Linn) asks the man, Jeffrey ( Matthew John Armstrong) when he last saw her alive. Ryan (Jonathan Togo) can't do anything about the Db until Me Tom (Christian Clemenson) arrives. He wonders how she could have been axed and no one saw it. "It takes hard work to kill somebody." Horatio (David Caruso) adds, "Harder than people think." Ryan is anxious for the Db to be moved and determines her ankle caught in the pulley, causing the lift to freefall and dropped from the nineteenth floor. Calleigh (Emily Procter) notices the axe is missing, which Horatio already said. Jesse (Eddie Cibrian) notices the spatter pattern is obscured so he can't determine which print was last put on the button. Calleigh...

The legend of Samuel Colt has been part of "Supernatural" mythology since Season 1, when the Winchesters first procured the Colt .45 that would ultimately kill the Yellow-Eyed Demon.
In Friday's episode, "Frontierland," we meet the man behind the myth when Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) go back in time for the third time. We got the chance to preview the episode, so here's the scoop on what's in store for you on Friday night at 9 p.m. Est on The CW.
Yes, there are plenty of "Back to the Future: Part 3" references, just like we'd hoped -- including Dean calling himself Eastwood. In fact, the episode has a lot of really humorous moments. Most mythology-heavy episodes tend to steer away from the humor, but this episode perfectly balances laughs with high-stakes drama. Dean's sheer delight at the opportunity to explore the Old West is a blast to watch...

There will be an Old West episode for "Supernatural" in a near future. At Creation Entertainment's Salute to "Supernatural" event in Los Angeles, series star Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have confirmed to Zap2It that an upcoming episode will see the Winchester brothers trading their cargo jackets and jeans with classic Old West garb and cowboy hats as they travel back in time.
Jensen, in particular, spilled that in the episode tentatively titled "Trail of the Dead", Sam and Dean will hunt the ghost of Elias Finch, a man hung for a crime he didn't commit. He went on to praise Matthew John Armstrong's performance as Elias. "In the [Western episode] when the sheriff's there in a jail cell scene, I caught myself just watching Matt," he recalled.
The 32-year-old continued on, "He had this long monologue and did a really good job, and I just got caught up in watching him work,...

Yee-haw! In an upcoming episode of "Supernatural," the Winchester boys will be trading in their trusty Impala for a new kind of transportation: Horses.
Zap2it was on the scene at Creation Entertainment's Salute to "Supernatural" Event in Los Angeles to catch up with stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. The guys confirmed that when the Winchesters travel back in time to the Old West for an upcoming episode, tentatively titled "Trail of the Dead," there will be horseback riding.
We'll also see the Winchesters ditch their usual cargo jackets and jeans in favor of some classic Old West garb. Ackles notes that Dean's duster was custom-made out of Australian oilcloth. "It will be coming home with me," he says firmly. Both Winchesters will also be wearing Stetson cowboy hats.
