Dear god, can’t someone give Michael Jai White a break? The star of the underrated Spawn, the fantastic blaxploitation spoof Black Dynamite, and the man behind supervillain Bronze Tiger in season 2 of Arrow, has been toiling away in Dtv action movie purgatory for some time now. For every decent action movie he makes – like Never Back Down 2 and Undisputed 2; he also has to appear in ill-judged films like Falcon Rising and this, Deadly Target.
Originally titled Chain of Command (no doubt renamed to stop any confusion with the hundred or so other movies with that moniker), Deadly Target sees White star as Special Operative James Webster who returns home after a tour of duty, only to...

"When the sons of the fallen came upon the daughters of men they bore the way of the wicked." An opening gambit that reads infinitely more interesting than the tagline for Kevin Carraway's latest low-budget horror movie. 'Evil Never Dies', anyone? Is that a fact? Well, as the filmmakers so eloquently put it, evil never dies but film careers do. Remember when Christian Slater was the epitome of cool? Now he's playing heroic priests in inexplicably dull horror movies. Remember when Vinnie Jones had the world at his feet? Ok, so that's a bit of a stretch, but Vinnie Jones stars alongside Slater in the straight-to-dvd feature that riffs on The Omen and Carrie. Here's a twist for you. Christian Slater plays a holier than thou priest and Vinnie Jones plays the part of a doting father. He's still a cop of course but the role of...

In the new supernatural horror movie Way of the Wicked, Christian Slater lives up to his first name and plays a man of God. But he’s not without his flaws. As director Kevin Carraway told us, “It was definitely different for me to see Christian play that kind of dark person. He is such a fantastic actor that I knew he would bring that character to life."
" Even on set, watching some of the decisions he made, he is such a professional. I can totally understand why he has had such longevity in this business and I would love to work with him again in the future.”
Carraway said there was no ego, not even with the press mobbing him the moment he stepped onto set. “When he first showed up, reporters wanted to interview Christian. The energy on the set was amazing. He would go around and speak with everyone.

Title: 7 Below Directed by: Kevin Carraway Starring: Val Kilmer, Ving Rhames and Luke Goss Running time: 90/minutes, Rated R A group of strangers get stuck in a small town during a storm, and are lured to a house where a family was murdered by a young boy over 100 years ago. They discover they’re all apart of a time loop where the murders are constantly repeating. I am a big Val Kilmer fan and I was beyond disappointed in this crappy little forgettable film. One of the side effects of doing this thing they call movie blogging is that I hear about pretty much every film that goes into production. A lot of times these films have nifty premises that sticks in my mind. Take the premise for “Seven Below” from director Kevin Carraway, which goes something like this: The story centers on a group of strangers trapped in a time warp house where a terrible event transpired exactly 100 years prior. Not bad, right? Sounds like something right up my alley. The last time we reported on the film was last year, when it was casting. Haven’t heard a single thing about it since, which basically means whoever produced it didn’t feel it was worth promoting. But after a quick tour of YouTube, I discovered a trailer, and now, an Amazon pre-order page that has the film scheduled for an April 17, 2012 release...

An early sales promo trailer for Seven Below, a haunted house horror-thriller starring Ving Rhames, Luke Goss and Val Kilmer among others, has debuted via Bloody-Disgusting. This indie horror involves a house where a group of strangers end up together, and history begins to repeat itself, as 100 years before some kid went crazy and killed his whole family. It looks pretty terrible. Between this and Twixt, it's sad to see Val Kilmer ending up in crappy, low budget straight-to-dvd horror, but that's pretty much what this looks like. "This is my sanctuary, your souls belong to me!" Watch the early promo trailer for Kevin Carraway's Seven Below, via Bloody-Disgusting: The story centers on a group of strangers brought together when a shuttle accident leaves them stranded in a house in the woods owned by a man named Jack (Ving Rhames) where...

Seven Below? Sounds like Snow White is missing, but at least we do have space involved in the whole thing. Not funny? Yeah, I thought so.
After all, this has nothing to do with evil queen, dwarfs, and huntsman, because this is the title of EFish Entertainment’s upcoming indie thriller that will have some great cast on board.
Just in case you think I’m hallucinating, check out the rest of this report for more interesting details.
So, here’s the thing. According to the latest reports, Val Kilmer, Ving Rhames, Luke Goss and Rebecca Da Costa are all attached to star in Kevin Carraway‘s movie that will follow “…a group of strangers brought together when a terrible storm leaves them stranded in a house in the woods where a terrible event transpired exactly 100 years prior.
The group seems trapped in a ghostly time warp, and history is repeating itself.

The indie thriller Seven Below has managed to build up a nice slate of actors for itself, with Variety reporting that the main cast is now comprised of Val Kilmer, Ving Rhames, Luke Goss, and Rebecca Da Costa. Directed by Kevin Carraway and written by him and Lawrence Smith, the story follows “a group of strangers trapped in a time warp house where a terrible event transpired exactly 100 years prior.”
Kilmer has been attached to the film for several months, and shooting was even set to begin in New Mexico, before a change in state tax credits made the shooting location change to Cincinnati, Ohio. How the aesthetics of New Mexico get replaced by Cincinnati is something I don’t really understand, but filming will commence next month. EFish’s Eric Mark Fisher and Brianna Lee Johnson will be producing, along with Warren Ostergard.

When you hear that Ving Rhames and Val Kilmer are joining the same film, you might assume it's an action movie. However, 'Seven Below,' directed by Kevin Carraway (of 'The Fear Chamber' -- yeah, we haven't heard of it either), is not. In fact, the premise sounds more horror-centric than anything.
'Seven Below' is about a group of strangers who are trapped in a house in the woods during a terrible storm. They soon discover that something very bad happened there 100 years ago, and the group ends up in a "ghostly time warp," whatever that means.
What do you think the "ghostly time warp" of 'Seven Below' is?

[1] Professional tough guys Val Kilmer and Ving Rhames, along with Luke Goss and Rebecca Da Costa, are set to star in the indie thriller Seven Below. Written by Kevin Carraway and Lawrence Smith and directed by Carraway, the film centers around: ...a group of strangers brought together when a terrible storm leaves them stranded in a house in the woods where a terrible event transpired exactly 100 years prior. Val Kilmer and Ving Rhames have agreed to star in the indie thriller Seven Below for director Kevin Carraway, Variety reports. The two actors will be joined by Luke Goss and Rebecca De Costa, the trade adds, though given the numerical nature of the title, I.m wondering if three more actors will be cast before the production gets underway. As soon as we saw Kilmer's name, we prayed for a MacGruber sequel (that has to happen). Instead, Lawrence Smith.s screenplay for Seven Below reportedly follows a group of strangers who are caught in a massive storm and must take refuge in an isolated house located deep in the woods. Variety calls the home .ghostly,. as if you were really shocked to hear that. Carraway served as a production coordinator on Damon Wayans. long-running sitcom My Wife and Kids. His directorial credits include 2009.s The Fear Chamber, about an...

Echo Bridge Entertainment is one of the biggest distributors of independent films in North America. The Fear Chamber was released by Echo April 27th on DVD. Now, the film makes its way to a local mailbox to be dissected here. Unfortunately, this gift might be best sent back to the sender. The central character in the film Nick Ferguson played by Rhett Giles is uncompelling and the acting of Ferguson in this feature is very poor. The lack of exterior sets, poor acting, and almost total absence of the killer from the early parts of picture makes the film unrecommendable.
The character Ferguson stumbles through scenes devoid of dialogue to the viewer's misfortune. If the character is going to be wandering around in an isolated locale at least give the guy some lines to work with. Everybody talks to themselves a little bit,...
