To watch Tiffany Haddish is to get the vicarious sense that you, too, can do anything, be anything, including yourself. It comes down to just two words: “She ready.”

You hear Haddish say “she ready” a lot, in interviews, in her upcoming Showtime stand-up special — Haddish’s production company is even called She Ready Productions. When she says it, don’t think of it as a catchphrase. Really, it’s a mantra.
“Me and my cousins, we came up with it when we were young and trying to sneak into clubs,” she told IndieWire in a phone interview. “When we would come out of the house and you looked cute we’d be like, ‘Yeah, she ready.’ And if you looked bad, we’d be like, ‘Uh uh, she not ready, go back in the house.

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including The Affair, Bones, Criminal Minds and Grey’s Anatomy!
1 | Did John Noble’s Sleepy Hollow return make you miss him even more?
2 | On Grimm, isn’t Meisner much more fun dead than he ever was alive?
3 | Did The Affair really think we’d want to spend half of the finale focused on new character Juliette over, say, seeing Alison or Cole at all? (Speaking of which, why so little of Ruth Wilson and Joshua Jackson this season?...

With spoilers, we look at the questions Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them left behind...
This feature contains spoilers for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them and other Harry Potter films.
For fans of Jk Rowling's Wizarding World, the newest adjunct to the Harry Potter franchise has been refreshingly unknown up until release. Although the new spin-off Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is set before the previous films, we don't expect that Rowling's planned five films will dovetail directly into The Philosopher's Stone and aside from a couple of references to wizarding history, it's uncharted territory.
The book version of Fantastic Beasts was published for Comic Relief in 2001 and purports to be an abridged, Muggle-worthy edition of Newt Scamander's in-universe work on magical creatures. On the other hand, the plot of the film is brand new, taking place during Newt's research into writing the book,...

Something wicked this way comes when J.K. Rowling & Co. dive back into the magical universe of witchcraft and wizardry in the latest in the Harry Potter franchise, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It’s a brave new world, literally, as the action has now shifted to New York from Hogwarts and a well-intentioned wizard by the name of Newt Scamander (the affable Eddie Redmayne) is in town with a PETA-friendly mission on his shoulders and a briefcase full of intriguing creatures at his feet. The nomenclature is purportedly different—Muggles are called NoMajs and the Ministry of Magic is replaced with the Magical Congress of the United States—but the setting is intimately familiar.
And Newt is in for more than he bargained for. Dark forces lurk in the gloomy buildings of the Big Apple while the world of magicians is in turmoil, faced with exposure to NoMajs.

Dear Govinda
I heard you last week on the radio, whilst driving, gushing about how Second Hand Husband was such a nice movie; how "Nammu" has done a fantastic job and how you have laughed hard whilst watching the movie.
Really?
I mean, did you really mean all that you said on the radio or was it to pull wool over the junta's eyes in the hope of getting them into the theatres. If you really liked it and truly believe it was a good movie and your daughter [whose name by the way is Tina now] did a good job, I admire you for that.
If not, you are setting up "Nammu" for disaster.
Let me get this Nammu-Tina thing cleared first. I understand Narmada changed her name to Tina for her debut and the Rj kept telling you it is Tina not "Nammu" as you so lovingly kept referring to her. Tina, Ok? Narmada is now officially Tina!

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler signed off as Golden Globes hosts in style last night with some killer zingers aimed at some of Hollywood biggest stars.
Everyone from Meryl Streep to George Clooney and, in riskier territory, Bill Cosby found themselves the butt of the joke. Digital Spy rounds up Tina and Amy's best bits below...
Watch Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's Golden Globes monologue
1. Tina kicks things off with a warm Scott Rudin-like welcome...
"Good evening and welcome you bunch of despicable, spoiled, minimally-talented brats."
2. Tina checks out Rotten Tomatoes for the verdict on The Interview...
"North Korea referred to The Interview as absolutely intolerable and a wanton act of terror. Even more amazing? Not the worst review the movie got."
3. Amy shows her admiration for Wild's use of performance capture...
"Reese Witherspoon is here, so great in the movie Wild. She did all of her own walking,...

If we have one complaint about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's turn as hosts of the 2015 Golden Globes it’s that there wasn’t enough of them. And we wish they were meaner. So two complaints, but that’s it.
And the reason we wanted more of them was because — just like last year — their jokes were the best part of the show. From best to even best-er, here are the most Lol-worthy jokes from a very Lol-y show:
News: Uhhh, Jeremy Renner’s awkward comment about J.Lo’s boobs
9. Amy: “We should explain to all the people in the room — the Hollywood people — cake is like a, it's like a fluffy desert that people eat on their birthdays.”
Tina: “Oh, and birthdays are like a thing people celebrate when they admit that they have aged.”
8. Tina: “Steve Carell’s Foxcatcher look took two hours to put on, including his hair...

Well, if Bill Cosby is already joking about the rape allegations made against him...
During their Golden Globes monologue, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler didn’t shy away from taking a dig at Cosby and the still-growing number of women who have come forth and accused him of rape or other sexual assault.

“In Into the Woods, Cinderella runs from her prince, Rapunzel is thrown from a tower for her prince, and Sleeping Beauty just thought she was getting coffee with Bill Cosby,” Poehler cracked.
The audience hooted and hollered as Fey continued, “I don’t know if you saw this on the news today, but Bill Cosby has finally spoken out about the allegations against him. Cosby admitted to a reporter [Cosby impression] ‘I put the pills in the people! The people didn’t want the pills in them!'”

2014 has been yet another fantastic year for television, one that continued the nichification of the medium, with highly specific and underrepresented voices breaking through in every genre. There was a comedy explosion, particularly on cable, with dozens of new series presenting confident first seasons and several returning shows reaching new heights. The dramas didn’t disappoint either, with visionary creators bringing new life to familiar settings and taking greater risks with their returning series, deepening their worlds. Throughout the year, directors and cinematographers brought lush visuals, composers pushed the auditory envelope, and an astonishing number of actors gave fantastic, memorable performances. More than a few shows delivered spectacle on a weekly basis, while others went small, deriving incredible power out of stillness and self-reflection. Some series swept the audience up, week in and week out, and others built subtly, only showing their hand in their season’s final episodes. There...

Gervase Peterson, who joined "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" after not having competed on the show since Season 1, took third place during the finale behind Tyson Apostol and Monica Culpepper. He tells Zap2it that he did consider flipping on Tyson at one point.
Zap2it: Are you glad you returned to "Survivor"? What was different about this time around versus your first season?
Gervase Peterson: Absolutely ecstatic that they brought me back to play again. What was different was really the players. The game is the same, it was the players. They're a lot faster-paced with how they do things. As soon as we got to the beach, Colton came to me and he said here's our alliance -- it's me, you, Aras, Monica and Kat. I was like, "What if I don't like somebody in that alliance? I gotta play with them for 39 days?" ... That's the dumbest thing I ever heard.

Each week, host Jeff Probst will answer a few questions about the most recent episode of Survivor: Blood vs. Water.
Entertainment Weekly: Very interesting dynamic here at the Redemption Island duel as Vytas tries the old copy-off-the-person-that-has-already-finished trick, yet Laura not only spins her stacked cubes so he can’t copy, but also goes all Mom Power and gives the answers to Tina to get the threat of Vytas eliminated. A very sly strategic move to help control the competition you face in the future as you try to get back in the game. Tell me your reaction when you saw this going down.

A brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal…sound familiar? Unlike its central band of spectres, the influences on this supernatural Spanish comedy are plain to see. Opening and closing with a prom scene, Ghost Graduation (‘Promoción fantasma’) revisits the American high-school movies of the Eighties, emerging like a cross between Ghostbusters and The Breakfast Club- with more than just a dance montage as a nod to the latter.
Our humble, hangdog hero is Modesto (Raúl Arévalo), a high school teacher plagued with the ability to see the dead. Rather than realise his gift, he instead begins to worry that he’s losing his mind. Regular visits to a psychiatrist only seem to make matters worse- not least because Modesto is distracted by his...

Survivor did something a little weird this week. It staged an immunity challenge around what amounted to a game of Toss Across. Is this my high school graduation backyard party? Is the grand prize a Hallmark card and a check from my aunt? It didn’t make for riveting competition, but it did reverse one seriously bleak trend in the game. So that’s nice. Like a Hallmark card!
Here are my noteworthiest takes on Wednesday’s warfare.
1. Vytas’ vytal signs are looking goooood
Thank you, Survivor, for livening up a humdrum episode with… an evocative mood sequence featuring Vytas in shirtless yoga stances for what seemed like months. It was like the gay Portland version of Robert De Niro‘s long-ass hunting scene from The Deer Hunter. So pastoral and eerie and full of handstands and clenched biceps and half-naked bliss and mood. He even philosophized about Brad Culpepper.

Survivor: Blood vs. Water Preview
Airs Wednesdays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
Premieres September 18
Long-time Survivor fans yearn for the days when a fresh group of new castaways arrived each season to play the game. Those days are over. Only two of the last seven seasons (Nicaragua and One World) have not included returning players, and they weren’t very successful. The producers will continue to find new gimmicks to bring back former contestants. This fall’s choice has the ridiculous title of Blood vs. Water and includes pairs connected by blood or romance. Ten familiar faces are back alongside 10 first-time players. They’ll be split into two tribes in a set-up that mirrors the “Fans vs. Favorites” model that’s been used twice. It’s an intriguing concept with the potential to fall flat or deliver great drama. When the tribes merge, will anyone betray a family member? That prospect seems unlikely,...

If you were hoping (like me) that "Glee" would pay homage to the brilliance of "Love, Actually" in its holiday-themed "Glee, Actually," you may have been sorely disappointed. But there were, like in that great Christmas movie, several storylines.
And, like "Love, Actually," not all holiday tales are created equal. Thus, it is time to rank the holiday tales shared in "Glee, Actually."
5. Secret Santa, aka Sue's small heart grew three sizes that day
Of course, "Glee" is pretty much contractually required to end an episode with sweetness and singing. This is, however, unfortunate. The "Secret Santa" story at the end was easily the weakest of the five.
Why? Mostly this is because we've seen it all before.

Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) pulls Millie Rose (Trisha Rae Stahl) the lunch lady in the faculty Secret Santa activity. After some obligatory meanness and cute scenes with Becky (Lauren Potter), Sue spies...

“Does this involve the glee club singing a Christmas song in the auditorium with snow falling on an elaborate winter scene?” hissed Sue Sylvester, sworn enemy of New Directions, in Glee‘s final episode of 2012.
The answer, of course, was a resounding yes — both in terms of the final scene in Sue’s story arc, and the overarching theme of the episode entitled “Glee, Actually.”
If you were too busy attending the first (and last) meeting of McKinley High’s Mayan Apocalypse Club, here’s what you missed on Glee.

After Amy Poehler and Will Arnett’s separation was followed all too soon by Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman’s break-up, we realized that we have to treasure the comedy couples in our lives while we still can. Hold them close. Laugh when they sing about wanting to “impale” each other, like Parks and Rec‘s Nick Offerman did when crooning about his wife Megan Mullally on Letterman last night. Oh god, what would we do if they got divorced? Or if we lost any of our other favorite comedy couples, like…
Melissa McCarthy & Ben Falcone: Remember how thrilled you were when you found out that the surly air marshal who ends up with McCarthy’s Bridesmaids character was her real life husband? Now imagine the exact opposite of that feeling if they ever got divorced. We know! Devastating.

This week’s R&B Divas was a true hodgepodge of events, some exciting, some not so much. I’ll run through all of them quickly, but the biggest announcement was that Monifah and Terez are going to have a baby! Ba-by! Ba-by! Oh, and this episode also involves a Wnba game. Basically, this is turning out to be the most surprisingly gay show ever.
We first hear about the beautiful lesbian baby plans as Monifah and Faith share a fancy dinner while watching the Atlanta traffic fly by. Really, this episode consisted of a lot of different people eating out at a lot of different restaurants and moral of the story is I’m hungry.
So Monifah wanting a baby isn’t actually news; she’s hinted at how much her ovaries are kicking her in the gut ever since the very first episode.

Welcome back for more E3 2012 coverage from yours truly. Sometimes I get the royal treatment and sometimes I just get a quick snapshot of upcoming games. The games below were ones that I had limited exposure to, but I wanted to write a little blurb for each regardless, enjoy.
Dead or Alive 5 (Tecmo Koei, PS3 version)
Tecmo Koei booth at E3 2012
I had a 15 minute demo with Dead or Alive 5 on the PS3. I’m not going to lie, I’m not the biggest Dead or Alive fan, but I have played a decent amount of the previous installments to see the differences in this latest one. Probably one of the largest staples in the Doa series has been its graphics and they sure are pretty in Doa 5. Everything from the beautifully rendered (and destructible) environments to the character models, Doa 5 is pure eye candy. The character models also take...

"The Voice" kicked off this week which a serious case of the giggles and what was to come was easily the most bizarre episode of this show ever. And that includes Cee Lo's wig, his group trip to the massage parlor and his serious fauxhawks.
Initially, we're not sure why the coadges are all fighting back laughter. But once we learn, we wish we had stayed uncertain. Turns out, Cee Lo is having some gas issues.
As irritable father figure Carson tells the coadges, "Let's focus here," Christina says, "Why do you think I got this fan?" Luckily for the pop star, she has a paper fan, while Cee Lo has a mini battery-operated one. Unfortunately, no one has that one you can get in Disney World that's a bottle with a fan head because clearly they're the coolest.
Anyway, as Carson says, "Let's focus." Christina tries to turn the...

The Talk will have to prattle on without Sharon Osbourne, who has been granted permission to go on sabbatical from the CBS daytime show in order to spend more time with her rock star spouse, Ozzie.
“I’ve kept it no secret that I really miss my husband,” Osbourne told AOL TV. “He gets a break [from his tour] at the end of September” — when The Talk returns from summer vacay with fresh episodes — “and so I’ve asked [the show] for a little break so I can be with him.”

A couple in the park to cut down a Christmas tree, find a Db in his underwear in the snow. Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) father, Jackson (Ralph Waite) turns up unexpectedly early. Gibbs asks whose fault it really is for him not being here sooner. As in years ago. Gibbs doesn't have cable and only a black and white TV, also he got rid of the guestroom too. He still has Kelly's bike. Gibbs is surprised he actually came. He needs curtains on his window, loved the snow effect. Tony (Michael Weatherly) "Man up chilly willy," he says to McGee (Sean Murray) and should embrace his inner "McGrizzly Adams." Ziva (Cote de Pablo) isn't cold and Tony refers to her as a "frigid ice queen" and she's cold blooded like a lady Komodo dragon. Ziva is wearing thermals. Good to know. Tony will give her $50 for them, well they won't fit...

She was thrilled to discover she was expecting, but Tia Mowry‘s greatest news came when she found out she was carrying only one baby — not two!

“I am extremely hormonal now with one baby, so could you imagine double the hormones? That spells double trouble already.”

Welcome to the Gay Globes – er, sorry Golden Globes. With all the gay-themed and gay-favorite nominees this year, you can see how a gal might get confusion. The nominations were announced this morning and the list includes best picture nods for Black Swan and The Kids Are All Right, in drama and comedy respectively.
Both films received four nominations each including a pair of nods for their actresses, with Annette Bening and Julianne Moore for best actress in a comedy and Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis for best actress and supporting actress in a drama. So, to summarize, make out with a lady on screen this year and have a good chance of touching a Globe – er, sorry Golden Globe. If you were doing it right on screen I’m sure hoping you rounded second already.
The Golden Globe nominations, with their recognition of both movies and TV, are always a mixed bag.

With the first segment of the season over, we get this one last episode before the hiatus: a Christmas special, completely devoid of any advancement of the plot, classic carols or even the most passing wisp of a reference to the Jesus. If we believe what Glee tells us, Christmas is about forgiveness and thankfulness, not the birth of a third of the planet’s savior or, barring that, the joy of giving (which is paid only the scarcest lip service). So if the point is completely missed, what exactly was the point? Well, as a Christmas special, this week’s episode fails pretty badly, but as an installment dedicated to undeniably cute character moments, if does not disappoint at all.

You know how some of you were saying in the comments that you couldn't tell if I liked Glee or not sometimes? Yeah. You're not gonna have that problem in this recap. They had me the first time they mentioned "The Island of Misfit Toys."
The teachers at McKinley are exchanging Secret Santa gifts, powered by Coach Bieste. Will, after enduring a "let's be friends" chat with Emma, draws Sue's name.
Brittany is decorating her locker for Christmas while Artie helps. "Last year I left my stocking up over Christmas vacation, and an entire family of mice started living in it," she tells him as she hangs an ornament. "Their Christmas gift to each other was rabies."
Artie, it turns out, wants just one thing for Christmas: For his parents to stop friend requesting him on Facebook.
"What are you asking Santa for?" Brittany asks him.
Artie is all, huh?...

Apple ignited the frenzy that has the tech world all shook up with mobile-app fever. How startups, big brands, and the iPhone's rivals are vying to cash in on the booming market.
If you hold shares in Apple and you're keen to help the company boost iPhone sales -- not that it needs your help -- try this: Next time you're at an office happy hour, whip out your phone, open the App Store, and buy a title called Ocarina (it'll set you back a buck). Now hand the phone over to an iPhone skeptic and watch him figure it out.
Ocarina starts up with four mysterious blue circles on the screen, and in the lower right-hand corner, a flashing yellow arrow with the instruction, blow into the mic. Your pal does that -- and when his breath hits the phone, the device emits an ethereal, high-pitched tone, perhaps what...
