New emotions are introduced and old emotions are suppressed in the official trailer for Pixar’s Inside Out 2. The trailer was accompanied by details on the new characters joining the fun inside Riley’s head for the sequel.
Maya Hawke as Anxiety: A bundle of frazzled energy, Anxiety enthusiastically ensures Riley’s prepared for every possible negative outcome. Ayo Edebiri as Envy: Envy may be small, but she sure knows what she wants. She’s perpetually jealous of everything everyone else has, and she’s not afraid to pine over it. Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui: Ennui couldn’t care less. Bored and lethargic with a well-practiced eye-roll, Ennui adds the perfect amount of teenage apathy to Riley’s personality when she feels like it. Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment: Embarrassment likes to lay low, which isn’t easy for this burly guy with a bright blush-pink complexion.

In retrospect, it only becomes harder and harder to believe that any of us made it out of our awkward teenage years (relatively) unscathed with our dignity (relatively) intact. Every new environment during this tumultuous time comes with a whole assortment of anxiety-inducing social interactions, new fears and pressures we didn't even know existed before, and the ever-present threat of embarrassing ourselves in ways that will randomly keep us up at night decades down the line. Honestly, just reliving all of my own memories while typing this out makes me want to run to the nearest therapist's office. Look at what I put myself through just for the sake of bringing the newest movie news to your devices, people!
For better or worse, viewers better start preparing themselves for the emotional rollercoaster that will undoubtedly be "Inside Out 2," the sequel to the hit 2015 Pixar movie. Almost a decade ago,...

Pixar has revealed a new trailer for the upcoming Inside Out sequel, Inside Out 2, which arrives in theaters on June 14th. Watch it below.
When we last left Inside Out protagonist Riley, she was dealing with the mixed emotions of a cross-country move. Now reaching her 13th birthday and thrust into the knotty feelings of middle school, however, the emotional headquarters in Riley’s brain are met with some new visitors: Anxiety (voiced by Maya Hawke), as well as her fellow newcomers Envy (Ayo Edibiri), Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser), and Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos).
All five of Inside Out’s original personified emotions — Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear — return this time around, but the presence of Riley’s newcomers, as well as the onslaught of new emotions that being a teenager demands, threaten to change their roles forever. Exclusive: Universal Pictures has optioned rights to Anthony Kiedis’ New York Times bestseller Scar Tissue, with the feature film project is currently in early development at the studio. It will be produced by Brian Grazer through Imagine Entertainment, Kiedis, and Guy Oseary.
The candid book profiles Kiedis, the famed frontman of Red Hot Chili Peppers, an artist, addict and ringleader. It features a deeply unconventional father-and-son story set against a substance-fueled 1970s and ’80s L.A. punk scene and examines, without judgment, how Kiedis’ experiences shaped the music eventually embraced by millions.
Universal in recent years has shown a knack for delivering the goods on the biopic-based-on-musicians front. Earlier this month, Nick Cave paid tribute to his longtime friend, The Pogues’ Shane MacGowan, by performing a cover of “A Rainy Night in Soho” at MacGowan’s funeral. Now, Cave has honored the late Irish songwriter again by penning an obituary for The Guardian, published on Thursday, December 21st.
After explaining how he and MacGowan first met — a “summit” organized by NME to bring the two writers, plus The Fall’s Mark E. Smith, together — Cave touched on the early days of the two’s friendship. “I was excited [to meet him] because I was a fan, completely in awe of Shane’s songwriting,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, it was my first day out of rehab, and it probably wasn’t the greatest idea to spend the day with two people who were not known for their moderation… Not the most auspicious start to a friendship, but Shane and I did become close friends soon afterwards.

The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan has officially been laid to rest. On Friday, December 8th, fans, friends, and collaborators alike came together to honor the Irish icon’s life and legacy with a moving funeral in Dublin. Outside the St Mary’s of the Rosary Church where the ceremony was held, though, another touching tribute was taking place: mourners took to the streets of Dublin to sing MacGowan’s songs.
As captured in videos posted on social media, fans who had been waiting on the streets to see MacGowan’s funeral procession pass stuck around, which led to an impromptu jam session. Musicians equipped with banjos, harmonicas, and tin whistles led the arrangements, as the chorus of Dubliners sang songs like “Dirty Old Town” and the Pogues Christmas masterpiece, “Fairytale of New York.”

He proceeded to share an anecdote about the time he met the Pogues singer: “I once saw him sing with the Pogues at a festival in the late 80’s. It was so beautiful and I was reduced to tears. Lollapalooza 2023 is a wrap. During the festival’s fourth and final day, rain continued to soak Chicago’s Grant Park. Thankfully, by headlining time, the bad weather had subsided, but not before leaving plenty of puddles for festival attendees to navigate and slippery mud all around.
It wouldn’t have been a proper Lollapalooza without hometown rapper Chance the Rapper popping up at some point during the weekend. He did just that during Joey Bada$$’s set earlier on Sunday evening, performing “No Problem” and “The Highs & the Lows.”

Los Angeles, July 4 (Ians) Flea, the founding member of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, is not happy with one of the albums of the band and would like to re-record the same.
The ‘By The Way’ rock group’s bassist is not a fan of the way they made their 1984 self-titled record and he blames it on the lack of “connection” with musicians Jack Sherman and Cliff Martinez, who replaced Jack Irons and Hillel Slovak after they quit, though he insists they are “great” at what they do, reports ‘Female First UK’.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, he said: “I always regret the way we made the first one.
“I think the songs are really good. Our band was smoking at the time. But (drummer) Jack (Irons) and (guitarist) Hillel (Slovak) quit, and we hired these two other guys: Jack Sherman and Cliff Martinez.”

Led Zeppelin’s influence on musicians that followed them showed up in interesting ways. He seemingly alienated Jimmy Page on tour, but Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson also defended Page from those who said he played sloppy. For Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante, his mastery of a Led Zeppelin outtake told him he was ready to record music again after a low point in his life.
Led Zeppelin’s ‘I Can’t Quit You Baby’ outtake inspired John Frusciante to make music again
The Chili Peppers’ rocket ride to fame with their 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik didn’t sit well with Frusciante. He felt uncomfortable with the adoration and used drugs to cope. The guitarist left the band but continued using drugs. In time, he couldn’t live his life without heroin.
Frusciante’s addiction to heroin spiraled to a point where he was dangerously thin and...

Kelly Clarkson won big Thursday morning with her cover of “Can’t Stop” by Red Hot Chili Peppers, as part of her regular “Kellyoke” segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“Can’t Stop,” which appeared on 2002’s By the Way, marks the second second Chili Peppers ode Clarkson’s done on her talk show (she did an emotional rendition of “Under the Bridge” last year). While the original recording is an energetic bop with quirky (and often non-sensical) lyrics, Clarkson’s rendition trades Anthony Kiedis’ grooving, pseudo-rap vocal approach for a more melodic and soulful one, hitting all the strong notes she’s known for.
The studio band here doesn’t quite compare to Flea, John Frusciante, and Chad Smith, but they sure look like they’re having fun; Clarkson even donned a distressed flannel shirt to testify her rock roots. Watch the performance below.

Considering they have 15 full-length studio albums under their belt, we wouldn’t argue with you if you said Weezer have sometimes valued quantity over quality — and neither would Rivers Cuomo. Speaking with Flea on the This Little Light podcast, Cuomo admitted that he thinks his band might have put out “too much” music in recent years.
“I think, if I were to go back and plan out an ideal artist’s career, I don’t know — maybe there’s too much quantity,” Cuomo said when Flea asked how he felt about Weezer’s mammoth discography. “Maybe the whole thing would be more impactful if we could go back in time and just release the very best stuff. Cherry-pick and release it in a very strategic way. But hindsight is 20/20, and hopefully future generations will sort it all out and they’ll focus on the best stuff.”

The Los Angeles Lakers are back in the NBA playoffs, and waves of celebrities like Jack Nicholson and Adele have returned to Crypto.com Arena to bear witness.
Spotting which celebrities are in attendance for live sporting events can be almost as entertaining as the games themselves (particularly if you’re not a sports fan), and no team has drawn quite as many famous attendees as Hollywood’s hometown ball club. Since the “showtime” era of the 1980s, actors, musicians and reality stars have treated Laker games like an informal, nationally-televised catwalk, sitting courtside at both the Forum and the arena formerly known as the Staples Center to watch some of the world’s best athletes square off.
But since NBA superstar LeBron James signed with the Lakers in 2018, celebs have been unable to enjoy the purple and gold during the NBA playoffs, where the lights are brightest and the...

Two all-new celebrities in disguise took on the reigning champ, Dandelion, for “Masked Singer in Space” on Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer.” After a performance of “Starlight” by Muse, Dandelion came in third place behind UFO and Lamp. The whimsical weed pulled off her mask to reveal actress, author and singer Alicia Witt. Panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg and Nicole Scherzinger were all gobsmacked when Ken Jeong was the only one to correctly guess the “Walking Dead” star.
“Nothing could prepare me for trying to play the piano and sing and catch my breath with all of this on,” Alicia told host Nick Cannon during her unmasked interview. “The thing I love the most is getting to connect to people with my music. This has been one of the best experiences of my whole life!”

With three years behind him since he was let go from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Josh Klinghoffer has some thoughts on the music the band has made in his wake. Speaking with the Brazilian podcast 5 Notas recently (via Exclaim), the guitarist argued that Chili Peppers were “doing cooler music” when he was still a member of the band.
Klinghoffer performed on two Red Hot Chili Peppers albums following John Frusciante’s 2009 departure: 2011’s I’m With You and 2016’s The Getaway. Frusciante rejoined in late 2019 to perform on the band’s next two albums, Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen, both of which were released in 2022. “I don’t think I finished [listening to] the second one,” Klinghoffer said. “I was trying to cram it in once before leaving on a plane, and I got as far as maybe the ninth song, and I don’t think I listened to the rest.

Iggy Pop has raised the curtains on a new documentary short film, featuring his longtime friend and mutual fan Flea. The brilliantly-titled Bitten by Flea! is out now, and you can watch the whole thing via YouTube.
The half-hour doc centers on in-depth conversations between the two Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, as well as studio time together with the acclaimed producer Andrew Watt. Throughout the video, the pair discuss how The Stooges influenced a young Flea, how Iggy’s songwriting has changed throughout the years, receiving a somewhat condescending letter from Bono, and more. They also gush about their experiences working with Watt, who we just so happened to name 2022’s Producer of the Year.

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne appear in a new commercial for the Playstation VR2 virtual reality game Horizon Call of the Mountain.
The humorous ad plays out like a scene from The Osbournes — bleeped-out profanity and all. Ozzy and Sharon are supposed to be getting ready for a flight to England, but Ozzy becomes transfixed by the virtual reality game.
“Hang on Sharon, I want to plug in my PlayStation VR2,” he exclaims, while sporting a VR2 headset around his eyes. “I’m very technical these days.”
Ozzy playing a VR game is as entertaining as you’d expect. His reactions to Horizon‘s massive mecha-creature battles (“What the fuck was that?!”) and combat mechanics (“Just let me kill these fucking dino machines”) come off as genuine as he dons the VR2 from the comfort of his couch.
At one point he screams in agony, prompting Sharon to check in: “Ozzy,...

Some movies are meant to become pop culture-defining hits that remain at the top of the box office for months and months at a time, like "Avatar: The Way of Water". Other smaller movies are able to find a niche where they can thrive alongside these blockbuster behemoths, pulling audiences in and proving that multiple kinds of movies can succeed at the same time. See "Knock at the Cabin," "Missing," and more for perfect examples of that trend.
And then there are those passion projects that are essentially doomed from the start, whether because they're impossible to market to a broad audience or the subject matter simply isn't meant for all four quadrants. Or, most entertaining for us film fans, the director simply went off the deep end and delivered an off-putting and thoroughly indulgent romp that's the exact opposite of a crowd-pleaser. Damien Chazelle might be coming off a...

The Super Bowl is loud. Singers lip-sync! Sheryl Lee Ralph reminded reporters of that following her splendid performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at the 2023 Super Bowl where the Kansas City Chiefs reigned supreme. Ralph performed the Black National Anthem on the 123rd anniversary of its first public performance before the big game on Sunday, February 12 in Glendale, Arizona’s State Farm Arena. Some onlookers on social media wondered if she was lip-syncing during the song. She had a perfect response when reporters asked if she had after she stepped off the field. “Does it matter? Does it matter? No. Thank you,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. And she’s absolutely right. Stars: Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Flea | Written and Directed by Damien Chazelle
A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, tracing the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.
One thing’s for sure – Babylon is without a doubt Damien Chazelle‘s most ambitious and daring film to date, and that’s really saying something seeing as how he’s already directed some truly wild films in the past few years including the feisty Whiplash, the syrupy-sweet, emotionally complex La La Land, and the searing First Man.
Sadly, this is the only film that Chazelle has directed that I haven’t fallen in love with. Babylon is a decently enjoyable movie but it’s filled with an absurd amount of filler that tremendously pads out the runtime to ridiculous lengths. This movie is three hours and...

The 2023 Grammy Awards returned to the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday evening, and while Beyoncé made history by breaking the record for the most Grammy wins of all time, Harry Styles took home Album of the Year for his album “Harry’s House.” Styles also won Best Pop Vocal Album.
Beyoncé took home four awards, bringing her career total to 32 — enough to unseat composer Georg Solti as the winningest artist of all time. But this marks the fourth time in a row she’s lost Album of the Year. An astonishing fact for the Grammy record-holder.
Bonnie Raitt pulled an upset in Song of the Year for “Just Like That,” besting the likes of Lizzo, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé.
Lizzo, meanwhile, became the first Black woman to win Record of the Year since Whitney Houston in 1994 for “I Will Always Love You.” Lizzo won for “About Damn Time,” stressing the need for positive,...
